It's so funny they hand out such a big bag for like two pieces of paper and a pin.

I think the point is that they want you to go to the merch stand and buy more stuff to fill it with.  as if enough money wasn't spent already.

Geez- no toy truck?  oh wait, I guess they already know that you don't give those out to folks within throwing distance of Axl.....

  2. I'm glad I didn't go.  same songs 4 years after I last saw them.  I did watch some of the streams on Instagram and it seems Axl was having a bad night.  he was skipping verses and I saw him talking into his mike (specifically on you could be mine) to the band or his techs.   idk.  was definitely weird that they didn't take a bow.

I live an hour and half from hershey and avoid it at all costs.... one of the most boring places you could ever be...   I doubt the band lost their energy over being stuck in that shitty town for 3 or 4 days, but idk.  venue isn't great either.

I was there in Friday to take my kids to the park and heard the band rehearse all day.  they definitely put their work in.  not sure how it could turn into such a shit show with that many hours of rehearsing.

  3. thanks to those streaming.  I'll be tuning in as I'm not going to the show.

here's what I heard while in Hershey park today:

Rocket Queen 3 times with just bass and drums.

a few bars of slither and Jungle.

when I came back to the area where I could hear them again the whole band was playing (minus Axl):

    coma

    locomotive
    out to get me
    my michelle
    black hole sun
    catcher in the rye
    sorry
    Madagascar
    prostitute
    twat
    hard school
    used to live her
then I missed one or two songs
    paradise city

the guys started playing at 1pm and ended around 7.  the band definitely put the work in and from what I could hear, they were great.  Slash KILLED IT on locomotive.   hope it's a great tour!

quick edit:  as we were leaving the park, we walked along side the stadium.  the band already left by then.  there was this big tent to the left of the stage outside of the stadium and I wondered out loud what that was for.

my 9 year old daughter says "dad, that's where they do their meet and greets with the fans".

I let out a good chuckle and said "meet and greet?  GNR?  it's about time I explained to you how GNR treats their fan base"   lol

then my wife says "wait, are they still relevant enough NOT to do meet and greets?" then she took a breath and says "well, I guess as long as they have guys like you who haven't updated their playlist in 30 years, they don't have to"

    lol

I highly recommend getting there early to see Mammoth WVH. I've been watching the videos of them from their 2 surprise shows this week and it's really good.

Are they doing RQ a little slower than before or still the fast version? Since apparently CW was rehearsed at a slower tempo.

RQ was at normal speed all 3 times

Anybody in Hershey already and trying to hear the soundcheck today? (if there is one)

in in the park.  they just started rehearing rocket queen.  can hear in through the park.  if you are hear head towards the chick fila / health services center.

sounds like it's just Duff and Frank.  possibly Dizzys bongos.  long version of RQ btw

I remember when they first announced this tour (pre-Covid), there were people on their social media who didn't know Slash was back and were seriously asking if it was just Axl with those other guys again  I suppose there aren't many people like that, but they exist.

there are more than you think considering the band does basically no promotion.

They rehearse in LA right? I'm assuming they rehearse with the same gear that they use on tour, so they've gotta truck all that across the country...

definitely true, but I assume they have rehearsal  gear and then stage gear.  but I make alot of unqualified assumptions, so you are probably correct.

Five hour drive but I'm going. My Daughter has never seen GnR and neither of us have ever been to Hershey park so I'm going up Friday and spending all day Saturday in the park before the show. Don't have tickets but I don't think that'll be a problem getting them through Stubhub or at the box office before they start. Wolfie at 7 so I'm thinking Guns from 815 to 11.

I'm doing the same thing.  hershey lodge is a great hotel if you are looking for a room.  water park is great as well.
