Most probably because it got forgotten years after. In 2008/2009 they might have known about it
no I was trying to sell my gym buddies on CD the week after it came out. they had no idea. In retrospect, I was hanging out with the wrong crowd. lol

It would have helped to move *some* of the product. There was no promotion. No accompanying US tour. No videos. No lead singles for radio. No interviews. Literally zero promotion.
it absolutely would have helped. unless you walked down the right aisle at best buy, you wouldn't have known about the album. 99 percent of my friends (casual fans) didn't know about the album years after it was released.

it was mentioned on appetite for distortion a while back. the guy did a phenomenal job on this, imo.

regarding the comments that if slash leaves, it's over- I agree. but I doubt Slash is in a financial situation where he can afford that. he's got to pay Perla a TOOOOOOOOON of money every year.
I guess I'm in the minority of people that believes the new album is done and they just want to wait to release it prior to a tour to help sell tickets. bc there no way an album relased these days is going to make any money- not unless they sign some kind of exclusive deal with Spotify or something.

Not necessarily. The only people credited with writing SOYL are Axl, Izzy and Paul. Steven might just get bulk cheques every so often for albums sales, singles/downloads, radio play, etc. so he probably wouldn't be paid specifically for SOYL.
great point

It's really sad that 5+ years after the reunion the only things that are in the works are reissues of 30-35 year old records. Ridiculously overpriced of course. Who doesn't prefer a belt buckle, bandana, replica temporary tattoos, replica ticket stubs and a few buttons over new music? You all must be crazy not to celebrate the great work of this band.
lol, don't forget the toy truck!!!

I think Steven was confused thinking it was a new recording and so not him. Frank probably knows Axl doesn't want him or anyone else going around talking about Steven being on the recording hence the "No comment."
Steven should know by now, right? I mean should he get some money from this if it was him? surely he saw a paycheck by now??

1. need a booklet on "how to survive a riot"
2. an activity book to kill time while you wait for GNR to hit the stage. you know, cross word puzzles, where in the world is izzy Stradlin (like where's waldo), help slash hide his stash.... but in order for this book to be accurate it would have to be the size of a Los Angeles phone book.

No doubt.😄 And we got to see Axl juggling and using a whip to swing on, Indy Jones style. They had Axl doing this weird slinking like thing when he walked.
I just watched. he uses a whip to think..... based on the It's So Easy video, Axl should be smarter than Einstein. lol
cool episode and it's good to know that Axl has a crew that can solve the real mystery: the whereabouts of Izzy!

Down the road, I envision Axl guesting as himself on an episode of Family Guy, where Peter becomes the third keyboard player in Guns N' Roses and fights the big yellow chicken, thinking it's Buckethead.
this is the best idea I've heard in a long time! lol!

Also, how many on here remembered that Slash was animated once, and in a Phineas and Ferb Movie.
slash was also a character in the Robert Evans cartoon like 15 years ago or so

in all honesty this makes so much sense to me now as to Axls whereabouts. the guy has been driving around in a shaggin wagon solving mysteries with a talking dog! hey he's done more bizzare things.... like employ Chris Pittman.....

never say never... well here's to 300 more pages in this thread!
album title: 1 year on Neptune is 165 earth years, so we aren't really doing that bad if you think about it.

It is a sad state of affairs this. It really is. Nearly the same length of gap between TSI and ChiDem, as ChiDem to now.
lol. yeah Fortus will say "now we've gone back to material even further back than the slash stuff... to the Chris Weber stuff"

I don't know if it was really yesterday but it was yesterday when I saw it... A short clip of Coma from the Tokyo 92 show, in full pro shot soundboard
I didn't see anybody mentioning anything about it here
Is the same recording that's on Live Era (bonus track released on disc 1 in Japan)?

The only thing that makes sense to me is they're focused on the future only now that they're back together. Slash, Duff, Steven Matt and Gilby all showed up for RNRHOF induction and acknowledged the past. Axl and Izzy did not. My guess is Axl is so forward-focused that the other guys have put the reflecting on hold.
I agree but have to wonder that if that is really true, why is the set list predominantly made up of songs from 30 years ago? and they refuse to comment on anything new other than new tour dates? they have been back together for 5 years now.... I'll be happy to move forward if they are.

Slashs looks real to me for sure. I can send you a pic of my slash autograph (which he signed in front of me) of you want it to compare.
Axls looks legit based on the stuff I've seen online- but I don't have his autograph so can't be sure.
-
this will be so cool and for the fans that don't have Marc's book- go buy it!
I don't believe he is working with the band at all on this which is sad. I'd love to get some interviews from Axl and the guys (including Izzy) about these gigs.
its sucks that these guys are still all alive and won't celebrate the legacy the 5 of them created together.

This is the third post out of your total of 23 you are complaining about the "msm" so if I may respectfully ask, what specific sources do you get your COVID information from, if you would be so kind as to link them here?
great question. I work in Healthcare at a hospital that has and continues to treat a TON of covid. I've seen many people pass away from this. I'd love to compare notes with this guy.

If Bucket is a b-grade musician can someone please recommend to me some a-grade guitarists, as they must be incredible.
How many pages of nonsense do we think this thread will hit before new music is actually released?! 😂
I woukd never consider Buckethead as a b grade guy only bc my musician friends have said that he is technically first class all the way and probably the most technically gifted guitarist the GNR brand has ever employed.
however, in my opinion if it sounds good, it is good. and I've tried so hard to get into Buckets music, but I find 99 percent of it to suck ass. it's like the guy would rather find a thousand ways to jerk off, rather than get to to fucking.
I'd rather eat the nasty KFC chicken out of his bucket hat POST SHOW, than to pay 99 cents for one of his songs.
I think talent and sounding good don't always go hand in hand. For instance the guitars on AFD aren't technically the most complex music ever written- but it sure sounds good- and I'd bet it's a big part of the reason why 99 percent of us found their way on to this board at some point in their lives.
I haven't wandered onto a bucket head message board yet. don't think I ever will. doesn't mean he isn't a technically great talent though.

great idea. bc he seems like a level headed rational guy who would love to explain why he sucks. I hope you can fight and don't bring a camera. lol

He works out in sunglasses. That’s so stupid. He can’t handle looking someone in the eyes
lol. couldn't agree more. I met Slash outside around midnight after one of his shows....and he was wearing sunglasses. only rockstars and the terminator can wear sunglasses indoors and or at night.

15 hours ago, Rovim said:yeah I was doing the same thing, just guessing why he doesn't regularly works out. I have no issue with you thinking he should. I do feel that maybe some people just have the natural ability to achieve some challenging things in life in a certain way that maybe is more satisfying to them and what seems fairly easy for one person is maybe perceived as "torture" to another.
like I think that some people have certain physical and mental traits that enable them to workout everyday and even the discomfort of being in a demanding process is worth it to them cause they care more about the value of achieving this goal.
plus maybe it's also about self control. Despite everything we know about proper diet, exercise, etc there will always be people that smoke, eat shit food, and don't workout cause the instant gratification of doing things that are bad for your body is difficult to resist and because we don't have to hunt our dinner anymore, there is less immediate reason for getting off our asses and burn calories.
he may in fact workout regularly. but it doesn't matter who you are, you can't outrun a bad diet.

so wait.... one can get rich enough to buy a mansion and (settle) for a Lamborghini by simply playing music that other people wrote and wearing a top hat like the original guy wore??? SIGN ME UP. lol
guess I'm gonna put my sock back on my cock and pay my former guidance counselor a visit and tell her that her career advice was all wrong!
