Begone Capitalist Piggy and leave us Music Fans alone.

Point proven. You want everything for free at the click of a button.

Another thing--capitalism is proven to work. Socialism, not so much.

If you want to be a socialist and have everything handed to you, go to Venezuela. 90% of that country is now dirt poor thanks to socialism.

    Good luck.

We got a REAL fan folks, watch out!

I am a real fan. I actually enjoyed the material on the Locked N' Loaded set because I hadn't heard it 20 years before.

You know, there was a reason Axl flipped out in St. Louis in 1991. Just because he can't stop everyone from bringing their smartphones to a show in today's world doesn't mean he can't have a say on what can and cannot be put online.

Jeez, do you people ever THINK that maybe the reason the band and management are trying to get a handle on things like this is because they want to make a new record, but fear these people with their "fan channels" will end up leaking the shit?

Very pointless interview, if you can even call it that. Nothing asked about his current tour, nothing asked about GN'R plans.

I do like the woman in the blue dress, though. I don't know if she's still on the Today show in Australia, but I've seen some clips where she gets fairly sexually suggestive with some of the things she says. I think her name is Georgie.

  4. Coming off a massively successful reunion tour that had enough original members to satisfy the older fans, Guns N' Roses would be wise not to take too much time off.

Not quite sure how the saying goes, but it's something like "you gotta stoke the fire while it's still hot". The band can't be idle to the point where everything they accomplished over the last 2 1/2 years is forgotten. I think as long as there's something new by the end of calendar year 2019, there'd be no serious momentum lost. Even if it's just a couple of new tunes for a soundtrack....they need something to maintain interest.

I've been refreshing Axl's twitter for 24 hours waiting for his bday wishes to Adler.

Maybe Axl just sent him a private message, or called him. Or, maybe he did none of that.

It's doubtful Axl and Steven have maintained much contact, if at all. It was probably GN'R's business managers who negotiated Steven's appearances on the reunion tour, and Axl just approved the dates. Which weren't many.

I'm currently watching 'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia'.

    It's got some funny moments.

I'm on season 9 right now. I did catch season 13 on FXX last fall, and I have to say, it was a really strong season. The final episode doesn't play it for laughs at all, though, and it's surprisingly effective.

New Year's Evil One of those made for tv 1980 movies. Just terrible. lol

I loved Creed. Have to see this one too. I hear Brigette Nielson makes an appearance? Is it true?

I know Milo V makes an appearance as Rocky's son from a previous movie.

Sly said this was the last "rocky" movie he was doing. Sad to see them end.

Creed II was good. Yes, Brigitte Nielsen has a few moments of screen time, though she and Sylvester Stallone are never in a scene at the same time.

If there was a problem with it, I'd say it followed the Rocky IV formula a bit too closely, which doesn't make it bad, just somewhat predictable. The ending might also make your eyes well up a little bit.

There was no need for NITL Tour Without New Music Either

Yeah, but remember that there were initially only 3-5 shows planned (according to various band members). The public interest and demand is what convinced them to do a full-fledged worldwide tour. There weren't any plans for new music when that whole thing got started, it was just basically Axl, Slash, and Duff saying "Hey, we're friends again, let's give the fans what they've been asking for".

  9. I don't think they should do it.

This Woodstock 2019 is nothing but a cash-grab for Ticketmaster, it's going to be the complete opposite of what the original festival was about. Both Woodstock '94 and '99 were forgettable imitations. Not to mention music has gotten worse with every passing year/month/week/day/hour, so it would be silly for a band with the stature of Guns N' Roses to perform at the same festival as a number of autotune-dependent hacks who never picked up an instrument in their pathetic lives.

  10. My fucking now ex-wife wouldn't let me go out at midnight, so I got them at Record Town when they opened the next morning.

Not sure if anyone remembers this, but some radio stations aired a syndicated special on September 13th, 1991--the Friday before the official release--in which I think about 22 of the 30 songs from the Illusion records were played, and in between songs there were pre-recorded interviews with band members. Mostly Axl and Slash, if I remember correctly. I taped it onto a couple of Memorex audio cassettes, but I think they're long gone now.

In any event, it was way cool to hear so many of the songs in advance of the actual release, even if it was only about four days earlier. It brings back memories of just how big that band was at that time, most likely the most popular band in the world.

    "brand"

    :rofl-lol:

GNR has survived the ultimate shit fest which is a very sweet and kind way to describe the abomination that was axl solo career as "GNR"

even if bon jovi went on a killing spree shooting all members of GNR one by one...

and then later shooting all members of axl rose solo band who were told they were in GNR...

GNR would still survive and thrive because you cant really kill music, can you?

specially when it is fucking great

Sorry, but Guns N' Roses are a business and a brand.

To have a successful business, you have to give people what they want. Bringing back Slash and Duff gave the people what they wanted, and the business has flourished since April 1, 2016. It also helps that the "classic logo" returned in full force. I don't know how much of that logo is owned/trademarked by Slash, but when he was brought back into the GN'R mix, the logo became the focus on nearly all merchandise for the reunion tour.

Because of Slash and Duff, Guns N' Roses are legitimate again after years of little interest from anyone outside of hardcore fans. A new record from this lineup is not only desired, it's a major news story if and when it happens. GN'R today are a healthy business, no longer faced with the possibility of Las Vegas residencies to keep the name alive.

  12. My mom got the calendar for me for Christmas. She said it had been delivered two weeks earlier.

Nice quality paper, and the photos look great, but yeah, they focused on the "big three" instead of the whole band. I don't really understand it. I know Slash and Duff's return to the band in 2015 was the major selling point for the Not In This Lifetime tour, but I think Fortus, Frank, and especially Dizzy--who's been a member since 1990--deserve more spotlight than what they've been given.

Just hit 499 on the US site.

use code GNR10 for ten percent off.

Damn, it makes me wish I'd held off on making the purchase in May, especially when they didn't even bother sending them out with the Certificate Of Authenticity numbers going from lowest to highest. I got #3,644 of 10,000 on Day One, and now someone will probably get #8 after waiting for the price to be cut in half.

  14. Pretty cool, if you ask me. Slash's love of animation has apparently rubbed off on Axl. And there's no doubt that it's actually him.

This also helps set up GN'R as a more accessible (I'd hate to use the term "family friendly") band to a younger generation. God knows today's kids need to be exposed to real rock and roll music instead of the processed shit they're being force fed.

Oh, and one other thing: Thank you Axl, and your golden voice, for saving the world from that giant asteroid. We are forever in your debt.

  15. The current band should just go ahead and re-work the stuff in the vault that was intended for 'Chinese Democracy II'. Get Slash and Duff to re-record the lead guitar and bass, polish up Axl's vocals, add Melissa to the mix, and get it out in 2019. Make sure to do better promotion on it this time around/ no exclusive retailer deals.

    Win-win for all involved.

Sure, this tour had its ups and downs, but I don't think that anyone in 2015 when the rumours started heating up was expecting this band to go and smash it the way they did in 2016.

What a career redemption on Axl's part. He went from being widely seen as a washed-up narcissist performing in theatres to selling out stadiums to massive audiences with Slash and Duff, then absolutely killing it as the frontman for AC/DC. The casual audience doesn't hate Axl anymore.

And as much as we've griped about the setlist, the setlist we've got have been awesome. Who'd have expected Coma to be a setlist regular in 2015?

If Axl had written his own list of Ten Commandments prior to 2015, it was a lock that one of them would read "Thou Shall Never Work With Slash Again".

That's the thing that I still can't fathom, and the thing that gave this tour and Guns N' Roses credibility again. Slash returned. And he was awesome, show after show.

The great rock bands in history all have that 1-2 punch:

    Jagger/Richards

    Page/Plant

    Lennon/McCartney

    Tyler/Perry

    Roth/Van Halen

    Frey/Henley

    Rose/Hudson

So even though the setlist never really changed all that much over the course of two and a half years, and we don't know what the future holds for new music (because we didn't get any aside from the updated "Shadow Of Your Love"), remember, that up until the latter half of 2015, no one outside the Guns N' Roses circle ever thought Axl Rose and Slash would share a stage again.

Here's hoping to an Axl/Slash partnership that gives us some new kick-ass music in the not too distant future.
