So the general and monsters are two different song at the end

The general is more interesting for me. Monsters was more accessible at first but it gets repetitive fast. It’s better as the second part of the general than it is on its own to my taste.

It’s amazing how prospective change. I’m 30 so started listening to them early 2000s, didn’t even know nu gnr existed and they were my favourite band. when I eventually bought the new album I was so disappointed, I thought it poppy and overall bad liking only a few songs. now in honestly listen to it more than any other album they made and I am very sorry that they didn’t put out a lot of music.

Initially I thought it was a recording from a different session distorted to hide the difference in the voice. but I remember when absurd came out that people complained about the voice, the timing and the bridge being absurd and I thought it was genius and very artistic, you are probably right it’s a deliberate choice and it makes it so much more interesting

The more I listen to the general, the more I think the voice is heavily distorted and filtered cause it was recorded in different periods. It would make sense and to be honest some part of it do sound a little like Mickey axl

Well the videos posted yesterday reached 7000+ in a couple of hours. What did you aspect? Nobody is talking about it, people who heard it are people who care enough to check the forums constantly for leaks and info. most people that might potentially like it probably don’t even know it’s out.

I’ve been saying since first listen, the way Axl songs reminds me of Johnathan Davis. I showed the song to a friend that loves korn and doesn’t listen to gnr and he agreed. Specially in the verse, there is something in the way the melody goes that is very reminiscent of songs from take a look in the mirror as well.

The theory around here is that the last part of the solo is not slash, you can hear a clear tone shift and it sounds like fortus is playing.

They probably don’t want to reinforce the message that if they take it slow on the release all it takes is for someone to leak it and the song will be released.

Same here. Monsters gives me a weird vibes, the ooh oohs remind me of sympathy for the devil and the verse the way Axl sings almost reminds me of Johnathan David from korn. the general wasn’t love at fifth sight but I have to admit is growing on me each time I hear it.

This is going to sound far fetched but does anyone else get sympathy for the devil vibes from monsters? the oh ohs kind of remind me of that. I must say I’m very happy, they’re growing on me very fast.

So actually the theory of the general and monsters being two songs was true 🤯. To be fair I like both, I like monsters a little better but having said that, I still prefer atlas and state of grace. They might grow on me but so far I m just happy I got the hear them. Does anybody else feel like Axl voice is a bit weird? so far we got absurd, hard skool, perhaps and now we’re getting the general and monsters. we know another two complete songs exist and the fact that one song we didn’t know about was ready might mean there are others. It’s five, six of you count oh my god and eight if you consider atlas and state of grace. That’s an album.

I think the vinyl only solution is so stupid people are just not ready to accept it. Why would they even? I get what you’re saying tho, there is nothing official a part from the fact that the general is coming out as a b side of the physical perhaps single. but than again does it really mean anything? the general wasn’t even announced, didn’t we find out by reading the description of the the single on the store?

If it has to contain filler tracks how about they record some of the covers they’ve been playing lately. honestly I’d love a proper studio version of Wichita lineman

Well since il left the eu often packages are held at the border so actually I might be good in terms of the day it’s shipped out but might have to wait a long time before I put my hand on it. I honestly didn’t know universal was selling it in Italy.

I’m Italian and I bought it in the uk store, who’s selling it in Italy? I thought the delay was a German problem so far.

I hope they will release atlas shrugged in 2024, possibly paired with state of grace or something we never heard yet.

I really don’t get how the general didn’t get leaked yet. I don’t even want to hear it, but I don’t want to wait and get a two minute song that only has that one bit of lyrics from the party repeated a couple of times.
