Yeah, I typed in the “gnr.lnk.to/thegeneral” link which was initially discovered earlier today and led some people to the “TG” gold/black artwork. It redirected me to Spotify on the web browser with the message “cannot be found” (or something along those lines) and copied that new link which appeared in the search bar.

Darn… well, at least we know TG’s in there now… somewhere… just waiting for the powers that be to FINALLY flip that switch.

Are you referring to the 1LP one with “Hard Skool” on it? That’s strange to hear, I’ve had my copy since October…

Since it’s getting its own artwork (which I for one wasn’t expected), maybe we’re gonna get a music video/other promotional items like we did with “Perhaps”? It’s gotta be on the 8th at this point, otherwise, the first “official” rips of TG will definitely be from the vinyl. More than likely it would’ve been up by now, but it could also very well be 12AM PST (California time). Who knows…

I’m thinking it’s cause of the subject matter… plus it’s a B-side, so I’m actually shocked it’s getting artwork and not just being slapped onto “Perhaps” for the streaming services.

Was just thinking the same thing… heck, even an album titled “The General” would be 🔥. (In an alternate timeline, we get TG tonight and are surprised to find out it is indeed a single from their new album come Spring 2024. ) Considering it was JUST found, as opposed to “Perhaps” being discovered a week before its original release date, me thinks so.

That DOES make sense since the vinyl releases then, but some already have theirs and the song is definitely, technically “OUT” there (if you search hard enough)… it shouldn’t be this strenuous for them to get it up on streaming officially

Are we keeping an eye out on the streaming services this Friday for TG? The Japanese radio station playing it earlier this week, plus the previous rumor (I think?) presented on here of a 12/1 drop, has me leaning toward yes.

Blasting “Monsters” through my Bluetooth speakers right now… What an amazing track, I truly hope it gets the royal treatment that it deserves someday.

“Monsters” will certainly get an official release at some point… I don’t see Slash/Duff putting effort into something that never actually does. Anyways, great to hear it again, such an awesome Guns track.

IF Guns REALLY wanted to end the year with a bang, “The General” drops Friday, with an EP announcement (an EP that would, of course, have to include “Monsters.”) Have it come out in January/February… Green Day has their new studio album coming out in January, so they should definitely ride the “rock wave” while it’s there. Also, after a few listens of the radio leak, it definitely sounds cleaner than the October leak. This, to me, is the FINAL, OFFICIAL form of the formerly fabled TG.

I dig that… hoping SOG gets an official release at some point too.

I’m looking for Monsters again too… I wanna listen to it again, especially since we now have absolutely no idea what they plan to do with it

Tbh, listening to it more, I wish “The General” was the A-side to “Monsters” instead of being the B-side to “Perhaps.” Thematically, TG and Monsters gel together… not sure if I dig it as much coupled with “Perhaps” (if that makes any sense.) Ultimately, I love all three songs, but it’s a question of the listening experience…

I’d imagine there’d be some sort of repercussions if that were indeed the case. I’m thinking this is the jukebox situation all over again… was supposed to be released earlier, delayed for some reason, and this station just didn’t get the memo and played it anyways.
