  1. I went to see them here in 2021. It was a phenomenal show. Reminded me of Hammersmith Apollo in London 2006.
  2. Also, I'll add one thing. The vocals so many of you refer to as "Mickey" is singing on a level about a few dozen people on Earth can do. Let's show some respect.
  3. I saw them twice live this year (Rome and MetLife) and he was just brilliant both times. His voice sounded really strong in the lower register but it's also where the melody in his voice truly lives. When he sings like that he's still a world class vocalist (look at Elton John for the same reasons). The screaming and high notes are both novelty and necessary. His high notes in Hollywood, Florida 2021 were incredible, as good as back in the day but that's clearly fading a bit. This is the best tour they've done since the reunion but two back-to-back shows of vocal issues points to him needing a break. Hoping for no cancellations but I can see them calling it a day for a while after this tour.
  4. My buddy followed up to say Axl sounded “phenomenal” in spite claiming he was jet lagged and it was 100 degrees out. Said they delivered far and above people’s expectations: “Unbelievable performance”. I’m sure there will be plenty of people on here excited to dispute that and talk about lack of “rasp”, “Mickey Mouse” vocals etc. I don’t have the stamina to argue back over that garbage. You win. Guns N’ Roses have been superb on this tour and I saw them in Rome and New Jersey so I have the evidence to back up that point of view.
  5. One of my best friends is there and said Axl’s mic kept cutting out during Perhaps and he was getting frustrated because the fans were indicating they couldn’t hear him. Fixed now apparently.
  6. I was half hoping for a sensible reply vs. telling me the people I saw in seats were actually different shades of plastic. Fucking Hell.
  7. Where does this information come from exactly? If you have a verifiable source of information, fair enough but people seem to just type whatever they want on this forum and we're supposed to accept it as true because it's written in a way that sounds semi-credible. Were you there last night? I was and the place was packed. I actually have photos and footage to show that.
  8. This is completely at odds with what I watched in person last night. He sounded fantastic.
  9. Personally I'm not interested in Perhaps. In an ideal world they'll give us a 45 minute rendition of Knockin' on Heaven's Door. The real deep cut.
  10. I don't think MetLife has a curfew. It's a pretty isolated stadium and I've 100% been to shows there, including GN'R, that went past 11pm. My wife and I went to Lady Gaga last Summer at MetLife (absolutely excellent by the way) and she didn't go on until 9pm and finished closer to midnight.
  11. Where are you traveling from? If New York, you can take the train from Penn Station and change at Secaucus Junction. You basically just need to follow the GN'R t-shirts when making the change. There is a huge parking lot at MetLife too. I'm just Ubering with my wife/friends.
  12. We're officially back into the 2005 mode of scouring the record company websites looking for hidden clues as to when a new record would come out.
  13. Yeah but if you take all the UYI years collectively I think It's So Easy still topped the charts. Again, I'd need to pour back into the detail. I relied fairly heavily on things like Setlist FM to do the math.
  14. I am but if you exclude 2016 onwards I think It's So Easy still is a clear front runner by a good margin. I looked into this once and I don't remember the exact math (I can go back and research if this becomes a debate topic) but I'm certain they opened almost every show on the UYI tour apart from like 20 (again not a confirmed figure) with It's So Easy.
  15. In fairness, taking into account everything since 1987, It's So Easy has been the opener for like 85% of their shows. It's not like this is some shocking anomaly and it's such a great opener when you're there.
  16. I was lucky enough to be in attendance to book end a fantastic trip to Italy with my wife before heading back to the USA. I saw GN'R in 2006 at the Hammersmith Apollo and a multitude of times since. I've never seen Axl sound better, look better, enjoy himself more and the band be this fantastic (especially Duff). The setlist was fantastic and I'd never seen There Was A Time before (it was great) but weirdly I left thinking Patience was the song that stole the evening. I haven't seen them for a couple of years so hearing Mr. Brownstone made me realize how amazing it is to see them live. Can't wait for MetLife, albeit American crowds are so lame its unbelievable.
  17. Glad everyone had a great time. I was there the last two times in Glasgow and it was tremendous. Sounds like Axl delivered, if we're honest, as he always does when you're there. Can't wait for MetLife in August!
  18. I thought GN’R were fabulous last night. Getting a good review at Glastonbury isn’t possible given the nature of British journalism/fandom. Getting slaughtered by the British public on Twitter is what it’s all about. It happens every, single year without fail. Doesn’t matter who you are. It’s what happens. I thought Axl sounded excellent and the band were tight as hell. Best rock band ever.
  19. Velvet Revolver in ‘05, Dizzy Reed with Fortus & Frank a few days before MetLife in ‘16 and Praxis recently with Buckethead & Brain (it was literally dreadful).
  20. In 2021 I saw them play 3 times between August and October in New Jersey, Chicago and Florida. Maybe it was the post Covid-19 excitement of getting to do normal things again but I thought they got better with every show. I was at night 1 of Florida in the Hard Rock and its probably the best show I've seen since Hammersmith 06 in London. Never necessarily got boring, to answer your question, but it was obvious the show had become a bit of a rinse-repeat thing vs. what they used to do.
