Avenged Sevenfold  "Life could be a dream" I did like The Stage, but it wasn't as good as their first cds.  It really showed how much the Rev contributed to their songs and music.

I hope this cd shows how amazing they really are.

    GNR

    Possibly Ghost.

I feel the opposite. I feel like The Stage is their greatest album, and the albums before it don’t compare.

It sounds like the new album will be even more out there than The Stage was, and I welcome it!

Slash and Mike Clink (or Jeff Mol?) in Slash's Snakepit Studios.

Probably another non-GNR related project :)

I’d absolutely LOVE Mike Clink to be involved with GN’R on a new album, or even another Slash project. That guy got the best sounds out of GN’R in my opinion. He also got the best guitar tones out of Slash too.

A good song, after 2 mediocre singles, but i want to think that the album has some songs like this to deliver more.A bit extended, could be a min less.

Just your opinion though. If Darkness Had A Son isn’t mediocre at all. It’s up there with Metallica’s best.

Album reviews are starting to come in, one rated it 8/10, another 7/10, and a few other sites have spoken highly of it too.

    Hype is starting to build…

  4. The new single, the title track of the album 72 Seasons, premiers in full on YouTube in under 2 hours.

In the latest teaser, about 55 seconds long, it now reveals how it starts out all thrashy, but then by the time the vocals kick in, it turns into a kinda Enter Sandman type hard rock song.

Apparently the full thing is over 8 minutes long, so we’ll see if it lives up to the hype…

I think I'm looking forward to A7X 'Life Is But a Dream' more than any album in a long time and I honestly wasn't a fan before but 'Nobody' is brilliant

I’ve been a fan of theirs for a long time. But ever since they released the last album The Stage, I find it a little difficult to listen to their older music. They grew and matured so much both lyrically and musically on that album, that the older stuff sounds a little silly to me now.

It sounds like the new album will be an even bigger step forward for them, and it can’t wait to hear it!

  6. Avenged Sevenfold - Life Is But A Dream
The new single Nobody took a few listens for me to kinda get into, but once it clicked, it was like HOLY FUCKEN SHIT THIS IS AWESOME. Also, listening to the recent podcast breakdown about the song, and the album to come, it sounds like the band are getting mighty ambitious with the album, even more so than the last album The Stage, which I loved.

    Metallica - 72 Seasons
The first single Lux Æterna was a cool old school Kill Em All vibe thrasher, the second single Screaming Suicide was kind of a throwaway rocker like something off Garage Inc. But the latest single If Darkness Had A Son is up there with some of their best. Nice heavy chugging guitars, great vocals and lyrics, and some of that epic Metallica vibe that they do so well. Apparently we’re getting one more single on Friday, and the short snippet sounds like another fast thrasher, so yeah, I’m excited for this album.

  7. Having just seen them again last December, after 5 years since their previous Australian tour, I must say, I did really enjoy the show.

But at this point, probably the 3rd or 4th time around to the same places, towns and cities, is anyone really that excited by this announcement?

Most hardcores are like “meh” and I bet even a lot of casuals feel that way too.

    The accompanying article:

    https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/slash-talks-new-book-childhood-with-joni-mitchell-how-he-stumbled-into-playing-guitar-and-why-guns-n-roses-would-probably-get-canceled-in-this-day-and-age-212611877.html

Slash has done a few interviews with her (Lyndsey Parker) and seems to like her - she has interviewed Duff, too.

I guess she thought that the interview would be boring if it was all about the guitar collection book, so she tried to ask about some other stuff (although she has asked Slash similar questions about cancel culture before).

She also asked about The Spaghetti Incident and Slash doesn't remember recording Beer and Cigarettes by Hanoi Rocks.

I’m glad she asked him about that long rumoured lost TSI track. I’ve always wondered about it. I remember reading about it in a press release for TSI leading up to it coming out

I'm putting my thoughts into this thread. I'm actually surprised that Alter Bridge went with a tour for February. It doesn't seem like Axl, Slash, and Duff are doing anything for the next four months. Duff is going on tour with Iggy in April. Maybe I'm hoping but it seems a bit odd that the three of them are not doing any touring for GNR. Could it be possible that they might be working on something during this time? It just seems odd, especially for Slash who probably would be  on tour with SMKC if nothing was happening.

It’s stupid isn’t it? There are 4 months there that they could all be working on a new guns album, but Slash said they’ll wait to do that after their next tour.

If you go thru show threads it is littered with people who say the band is on fire or tight or playing great.  Only the biggest haters say the band isn't playing good. This is not including Axl of course lol

Even you can admit that the band sounds good live

I just saw them in Sydney, and aside from the buzz of being front row on the rail in front of Slash, I thought the band sounded the sloppiest I’ve ever heard them, especially Slash.

Whatever the fuck Melissa was “doing” up there, certainly wasn’t helping to make it sound better to my ears.

  11. Was anyone else surprised about how small their stage was? They had scaffolding blocking any ramps that would go out past the big screens were on either side of the stage, that I’m sure had ramps in front of back in 2017.

For a show that was billed as “even bigger in 2022”, I thought their stage production was modest at best.
