mcmurray
I'm interested to know what gear you guys will be using for playback of the album? Anyone upgrading their system in preparation?Anyone using (god forbid) small crappy PC speakers? I'll be using a pro soundcard routed into a pro headphone amp and a pair of Sennheiser HD650s. And for the speaker setup it'll be Toshiba audiophile DVD player into a Marantz audiophile amp.Oh and who is going to butcher the album by converting to MP3? FunkyMonk
I shall be taking it home in my awesome car stereo and then putting it on my surround sound after I get home. After that I'll be ripping it and listening to it through good headphones. This baby won't be played through crappy equipment till I've fully digested it. DirtyDeeds
Well, first in my whatever-the-hell-the-standard-stereo-system-in-a-2008-KIA-Spectra-is, followed by my 11-year-old Magnavox boombox.
mcmurray
Yeah I forgot to mention the car stereo! After spending 5 grand on it a few months ago I think it'll be up to the task
KBear
It would be a waste of time and money to upgrade since I'm sure the album will be compressed to hell with super loud mixing. Hopefully not, but that's the way I think it's gonna go. If you are going to upgrade then you do it to hear all your music, not just one album. In truth, I'm actually more excited (in a hifi way) about hearing the 180 gram LP Use Your Illusion re-releases, which are coming out this month.Anyways, I'll be listening through a Denon UD-M50 mini system, Arcam DV135 CD player, and Tannoy Mercury F2 speakers. A decent little system, which I will hopefully have upgraded within a year or two.I want these: http://www.divineaudio.co.uk/itemdetails.php?itemId=345Or these: http://www.monitoraudiousa.com/product.php...1&product=

KBear
Hey, that CD player was only a bit more than 1/10 the price of that car stereo! It was over half off the regular price though, a great buy. Edited November 3, 2008 by KBear
Dean-16
Il be using the car stereo in my car, its stock, but quite good quality sound.
tat2d1
My 5.1 surround sound home theater system. I'll also butcher it into mp3 @ 320 for my mp3 player for when I'm out shoveling the driveway this winter.
highvoltage
I upgraded... I'll be listening on my Audio Technica ATH-AD700's, hooked into an Xfi-XtremeGamer Soundcard. I'll get a new card pretty soon - it was more the headphones that I was after.
Randy Lahey
A mind full of _______ and a good pair of headphones. Ideally I'd be listening to the album while immersed in a dream.
Superfuzz
I'm sorry, but who goes out of their way and upgrades their entertainment system for one CD?I'll just be listening to it on my crappy PC speakers or on my Zune. It'll still be a great album whatever I listen to it on.
Stiff Competition
No way would I upgrade my stereo system for this album. I'm excited for it and all, but if what I have is god enough to listen to Cheap Trick, the old guns and KISS, it's surely good enough for the Axl Rose project. Leigh-Rok!
If I get my car back from the garage in time for the release, I'll probably give it a blast in there. My RX-8 comes complete with a top of the range Bose stereo with 9 Bose speakers, and the sound is incredible!
