My mother was a Beatles fan and she liked especially George Harrison.

She used to sing 'Here comes the sun' for me, so it still is one of my favorites. I kind of get a safe and happy feeling, when listening to it. Such a simple and beautifull song.

So again, I have to say: The Beatles - Here comes the sun

Maybe Estranged. It became even more special to me when I was playing it at home just when I had moved in with my boyfriend, who knew nothing about GN'R. I was playing it, actually the Live Era version I think, and he went like "What is this song?! It might be the best song ever written!". And then some sort of special moment..

I think Tim Booth's the essential Manchester indie prophet.

SCOM is pretty much consistently my favourite song ever, I just think it sounds pretty much like bliss should...

Trains by Porcupine Tree's usually up there too... other than that it changes depending on time and circumstance.

Yes. Yes. Very much yes.

SCOM got me into music so I would always bring that up in these kind of conversations. Trains is just some sort of ethereal masterpiece.

For the last few weeks I can recall listening to these songs more than once on repeat. Apparently would be too many youtube links for one post so:

Ramones - Pinhead

Mad Season - Wake Up (and also Long Gone Day feat. Mark Lanegan)

The Kinks - Waterloo Sunset

The second two I was just lying in bed and the first one is for everything else in life.

Ever since I first listened to Iron Maiden's The Final Frontier when I got my advance copy from a local record store a few days before release, my favorite song has been When The Wild Wind Blows. Seriously, I listen to it probably half a dozen times a day, and it just never gets boring. It's the perfect combination of musicality, and Steve Harris' expert songwriting.
