I like a lot of different grunge bands and as a whole 90s alternative is probably my favourite era of music but for grunge.... Kurt was the best songwriter. Nothing touches the emotion in something in the way, the where did you sleep last night cover, all apologies. Nothing by pearl jam or Alice is as cut throat rocking as you know you're right, tourettes, school, negative creep. Nothing by stone temple pilots, hole or pearl jam is as downright punk/pop awesomeness as breed, teen spirit, and serve the servants. They didn't release mediocre albums like pearl jam, screaming trees and soundgarden. Their filler tracks were fucking wild like, again, tourettes and hairspray queen. Their b sides are fucking awesome like dive, aneurysm, and stain. They really were the best.
