luciusfunk
You know she's gonna kill him just like in the movie. The ending wasn't that different.
MrPoe
Queen Of The DamnedAgreed. The movie had almost nothing to do with the book, and scraped out bits and pieces of "The Vampire Lestat" to build one of the biggest turd sandwiches in cinema. And while it wasn't exactly based on a particular Lee biography, "Dragon, The Bruce Lee Story" was absolute crap and about 99% fiction. Graeme
I am Legend...They could not betray the book more than they did with that piece of shit adaptation...After reading the book, someone told me what they did to the end of the film so I didn't bother watching it. Sounded like it basically undermined the entire purpose of the plot and turned it into a completely bog-standard post-apocalyptic man-vs-monsters film. As opposed to having the ending which made you say "Wait... what!?" that made the book so special.
GivenToFly
I think it's unfair to judge the quality of an adaptation by how closely it sticks to the source material, which is what many fans of the source material usually do.In general I don't like the concept of an adaptation and it makes no sense to me how people want their favorite books to be made into movies etc, especially when most adaptations fail. Problem is storytelling is pretty closely tied to the medium the story is supposed to be told in. You don't write a book the same way you write a movie script or the same way you write a comic or a stage play etc. Maybe a play is easier to transport to movie format but that's about it I think.
