Popular Post SheldonR311 Posted July 3, 2014 Popular Post Share Posted July 3, 2014 I'm sorry to start a whole new topic on this, as it could probably be said elsewhere, but I couldn't figure a better place for it. Does it bug anyone else how Axl has changed the timing of the whistle blow at the beginning of Paradise City? It drives me absolutely nuts how he waits to blow the whistle until after that chugging guitar riff kicks in. Blowing it beforehand really kicks the song off, blowing it after it just kind of fades into the background and doesn't really affect anything anymore and throws of that dramatic kickoff. SheldonR311 Posted July 3, 2014 Author Share Posted July 3, 2014 (edited) I remember what you're referring to, but my suggestion isn't in a super negative sense, and it's mostly for opening a discussion not bad mouthing Axl.And another way of looking at it is that it actually takes power AWAY from Axl because he's no longer kicking the song into high gear with that whistle.
