Create a Quality Side Projects Compilation

Recommended Posts

One Thread to Rule Them All

OK, so this is my attempted peace offering regarding all the bickering in the thread about Ashba, the locked thread about Slash and, to a lesser degree, the thread about BBF.

Your task: Create a quality compilation made up exclusively of songs written and performed by Guns members outside of Guns.

Rules:

1. Your compilation must include at least 8 songs. If it is fewer than 8 songs, we will assume you think there are fewer than 8 quality songs out there.

2. Your compilation must include at least 3 current and/or former GNR members. I don't want to see a full Buckethead album, although that wouldn't be a bad choice.

3. The GNR member you feature in each song MUST have a writing credit on the song.

4. Finally, and obviously, include the artists AND the song title in your posts.

Go. :)

I can't come up with 8 songs right now, but I will post more as I think of more. I hope that's okay.

I really like this one. Sáivu is one of Richard's side projects.

I've not really listened to a lot of Buckethead, but as an MJ fan I remember this song from when he died. I'm not just saying this because it's a tribute to MJ, the song is really beautiful. I should really check out more of Buckethead's stuff.

I was gonna post a Walking Papers song but apparently Duff doesn't have any writers credit on any of the songs :(

I like this one

Buckethead - Soothsayer, Nottingham Lace, A Day Will Come

Slash - Anastasia, Serial Killer, Watch This

Bumblefoot - Dash, Invisible

Axl Rose - Stuck Inside (Sebastian Bach song feat. Axl and co-written)

Tried to keep it strictly to "solo projects" so no VR. Watch This features Duff but that's no biggie. Could come up with more but I don't see the point. This is a good 8 track EP that illustrates the best work of the 3 members of GNR who have had good solo work. The Axl track would be a bonus.

Probably a few good Stinson and Fortus songs out there too but I wouldn't know. Duff and Izzy's music all boring as shit AFAIK.

I really like a newer band called The Last Vegas.

DJ helped produced their biggest album.

I give DJ big props for that.

Excellent band, Ashba produced the albums , this ballad was written by The Last Vegas, Ashba and Sixx.

2- Stardog- Adler

3- On Down the Road- Izzy Stradlin

4- Serial Killer- Slash's Snakepit

5- Back From Cali- Slash

6- Slither- Velvet Revolver

7- Fall To Pieces- Velvet Revolver

8- Sweet Caress- Izzy Stradlin

I think these songs would make a great album, I didn't choose any Duff songs because I think his solo work is not as good as the other members work.
