It is not 'nu-metal' whatsoever.

It totally is. It has far too much guitar work in it and they have buried Axl's voice in the mix so he sounds like he is goth singing. I don't hate the song but it's the furthest from Guns N' Roses I've heard. It's too heavy and just not very good. When the band played it live at Rio their co-oridnation was dreadful and the song finished before Axl and he sang the last part without music. It sounded pretty cool though.

Why does everyone here unanimously HATE Silkworms?

Seriously!!

The only explanation I've heard is "it's gay" or "it's a crap song"

The opening puts me off.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'm in the minority then for liking it so much. The opening kinda reminds me of dark ambiant/glitch music.

1. Better

2. There Was A Time

3. The Blues, Silkworms, Madagascar (All equal... because I can imagin how awesome a Studio Silkworms would turn out! Seriously, it wud be fantastic, plau the lyrics are awesome)

4. N/A

5. N/A

6. Chinese Democracy

7. Oh My God

8. Catcher in the Rye

9. IRS

10. Rhiad and the Bedouins (not my favourite, but could easily be better than IRS if the studio version really gives it the potential it has... the chorus is so catchy, but sounds bad on live recordings)

3 Chinese Democracy

4 There was a time

5 IRS

6 The Blues

7 Madagascar

8 Rhiad And The Bedouins

9 Catcher In The Rye

10 Silkworms

Silworms is the only song I really don't like. I think Rhiad has so much potential.

I thought nu-metal was rap/rock?

Of the new leaked songs, one guy says Better is by far the best, yet another says TWAT is by far the best, yet another says IRS or CITR. It's across the board although I do think the majority here like all of the new leaked songs.

What does this say?

My take on this is it's good. If a vast majority said that one particular track was easily the best and and not so much the others then we would likely have some form of mass dissapointment. I think it's good we have a perceived balance of acceptance on all the songs.

What's your take?

At other(non-GNR) forums, Catcher seems to be the most universally liked track. Most non-diehard fans I played Catcher for loved it... as for "Better"... they didn't like it. TWAT and IRS were more mixed
