axlslash
Apparently the Who released a new song yesterday. I totally missed it, but glad I found it now. It's got a neat Won't Get Fooled Again vibe to it at points, with a pinch of Another Tricky Day here and there. Pete's in fine form, Roger sounds great, and my good dear sweet lord does Zakk wail away on the skins. I like it. Word is they're eyeing next summer for a new record and kick-off to their last tour. This is a much more promising start than Endless Wire (I liked the last record, but it was a bit more experimental than I like; for what could be the farewell record, I want this classic sound).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4CiedGbjaQ

Len Cnut
I can't go see The Who without Moon...and since he died before i was born it's kind of a sealed deal. If there was ever a band where each member was 100% totally and completely necessary for them to be what they were that band is The Who, possibly more than any other band, such was the level of each individuals input. DieselDaisy
I see it as, ''50% of The Who''.

He's unreal. Keith bought him his first kit and taught him how to play, and it shows. Trying to replace the Ox is a much taller task. Pino is really great, but short of Victor Wooten, you're not gonna get a bass man anywhere near Entwistle.
Len Cnut
Yeah, Zak certainly has a similar sort of flourish and colour to his play, its unfair to expect him or anyone to be Moonie.
axlslash
Jay Weinberg (Max's kid) played the encore at a springsteen show I went to a few years back, and he's probably the only guy I was as impressed with as Zak. He's wild, but I actually think he has a bit more musical precision than Moon did.Even if you don't think of it as the Who, and just think of it as Pete and Rog playing Who songs, I recommend going. It's a hell of a show. Seem em 3 times now (once shortly after Ox passed, once on the Endless Wire tour, and once on the Quadrophenia tour a couple years ago) and been more impressed every time. DieselDaisy
The ironic thing is that Moonie, his dad's drinking companion, was his hero growing up; Zakk was a much bigger Who fan than a fan of his dad's band. I love that bit on the Kid's Are Alright when Keith and Ringo are both drunk as lords and going on about ''taking their medicine kiddies''. chevelle
If they don't call the final tour "Who's Left?", I'm gonna be really mad.
