Well, he's not publishing a book about his life, so he's not approving a movie, that's for sure, unfortunately.

She was vocal about certain things, and Beta basically told her to fuck off.
If Merchnando had been unsatisfied with - or annoyed by - her, he could have fired her at any time.
But that would have collided with his predatory lust, wouldn't it.
So from what we know so far, there's no reason to defend him.

I see "Ash", I immediately think of Evil Dead.

Belgium (Werchter or something like that) was also good sound-wise.

The main dispute in this is that of copyright infringement and she may have a case on it, at least in parts regarding the pictures she took after her last written contract expired. The sexual harassment accusation is just the cherry on top and an additional argument to back her copyright case. That would be probably more difficult and will depend more on evidence like emails than on what band members will say.
Gotcha, but I'd still like to see him go down based on the sex thing rather than anything else. I should seek help, I know.

Here’s my logic chain:
1. Axl stands behind Fn’ando. Let’s agree to agree, ok? I mean come on.
2. No sane member of the band would go against F., as that would be going against Axl. That’s not happening, is it.
3. ???
4. She’s on her own in this. So, hard evidence or bust. PC/woke/women equality etc. won’t help in this one; she’s standing up to an individual backed up by major dollar – and therefore major legal possibilities.
Of course, on the other hand, she could always cash in. I mean, I don’t know her, so why would I really care anyway. But I somehow know she's not making it up, and the little brat deserves what's coming to him. Sorry. (not sorry for him)

I hope she has some solid evidence against that douchebag, otherwise she's screwed and he has yet another thing to laugh about.

Maybe the constant fires there had also be a reason for him to move out.
He did mention the "burning hills" even in that 1996 MTV letter of his.

Did the new album come out yet
Yep, exclusively under Taco Bell. It’s called "What Could Have Been But Wasn’t" and includes Absurd, Eye On You, The General (Enhanced), Black Hole Sun (Live), and Wichita Lineman (Live). The Deluxe version contains a selfie of Kat Benzova with Fernando signed by Beta, plus a toy truck. To be found on your Spotify later, stay tuned.

Well, technically the whole album leaked days before the release. It had an annoying MSN (or was it ICQ? hahah) notification sound throughout. I don't count it as a real leak though.
Not counting that either. Three songs didn’t leak: Scraped, Sorry, and This I Love. Plus Shackler was in that video game and If The World in that movie, so I don’t count those.

1. They were written in 99/2000 and released in 2008, and I'm sick of them and wanna hear something new already.
2. Monsters

I don't think that's why people are disappointed with it. It doesn't really go anywhere, it's very repetitive, soaked in effects, it's just not a great song.
After The General, Soul Monster was absolutely the next most hyped song, and most people here think it's the best 'leftover' we've heard. It seems to have actually lived up to the hype. So I don't think The General was bound to fail because it had become mythical, it failed because it's boring.
I'd say Monsters is the only song we've heard that could've replaced anything on CD... and maybe Hardschool if they'd kept it similar to the Village version.
I'd love to hear the Bucket/Robin versions of these songs, but I still don't think The General would've been strong enough to replace anything on CD.
Atlas or even SoG could have replaced Scraped and the likes easily, come on.

Or it's like any other organ that reacts differently in individual cases. I love broccoli, and there are people who are alergic to it.
When I stretch, my muscles hurt. When a gym guy doesn't stretch, his muscles hurt (I imagine).
Bad examples, but you know what I mean.

ah I wasn't sure which specific part you meant. personally I like that part but Atlas is one of my favorites from the locker leaks.
I think there's probably a really strong version of the second half of Chinese in Axl's hard drives and some of the tunes that were officially released post reunion.
just cause you've mention it, I think the strongest tracks from the leaks/official releases with full or close to full vocals are Atlas, SOG, HS, and Monsters. I'm really fond of The General, I just don't think it's as strong as those 4 tracks. Absurd and Perhaps are also cool imo, but I prefer the live versions of Absurd.
I wonder if Axl is interested in Slash and Duff rerecording more Chinese era tunes for release and if Monsters was the last tune that was worked on by Slash and Duff as in there's nothing else we haven't heard from Chinese era with Slash and Duff contributions.
I may be one of the forum optimists (at least regarding the quantity of material), but/therefore I’ll say I believe there’s more material. After all, the more CD stuff they put on "the new album", the less new songs Axl will have to come up with. Which is sad, but... what can we do. I always say throw in also some unused 90s stuff, make it 1/3 of each batch in the overall content, and we’re in for a great fucking record. As long as they manage to make it stick together (it would be a patchwork after all), plus proper mixing etc. (unlike what we’ve heard so far in the case of HS and The General). Here’s hoping.

what do you mean by "change of tone"?
I can't listen to it right now, but I mean what follows after the initial verses, the stuff that goes "I’d be the last to say 'don’t follow your heart'" etc. There's this change that sort of broke the mood for me, although I understand the entire song couldn't have continued with just that first melody. It's still pretty decent and definitely one of the best Village songs. HS, Atlas, SoG (and of course Monsters). Perhaps is a good song but mediocre for a band like GNR and their level we're used to.
-
The beginning of Atlas was one of the best Village moments. The initial part, with the drums and semi-acoustic guitars and then the verses and melodies of vocals. I was thrilled, it sounded like a very promising material. It was almost dreamy, like from a parallel reality where GNR released CD2; made me think of things that could have been. Then there was this change of tone, which I didn’t appreciate that much. Been a while since I’ve last heard it, though.
Atlas + Monsters would be a great idea and the strongest single so far. Which is why it may not happen. The doubt is strong with this one.- 1

I also just spoke to my source and he is actually a massive WNBA fan. Like massive. It's apparently all he talks about backstage. They pass out WNBA talking points to the workers as part of the rider so that when Axl says "That was a crazy layup in the Dallas Wings game last night" the worker who was instructed not to look him in the eye knows enough to say something like "Yeah, I really thought Kalani Brown had a great game".
Something smells here.

Yes, a new release is a new release. If the argument was that Swift releases MORE than GN'R, then there would be no comment from me. But since the argument was that Swift, unlike GN'R, releases new music, then I will point out that I disagree on the very fact that we just got new music.
Hi Jarmo, playing dumb again, are we?

There’s also the possibility that Slash’s parts are long done. Half of 2018, almost entire 2019, entire 2020, half of 2021, half of 2022... all this was "no GNR tour" time. Sure, he was doing his solo too, but I think he had plenty of time to come up with some new tunes and copy paste his guitars in the old ones as well. So it may be just an Axl thing right now. As usual.
