  1. Imagine him saying "Well, still better than Eye On You"!
  2. Izzy attending a Stones gig, Guns used to play the Stones songs and are friends with them, this gig was in America, Guns live in America, Axl's new website = it’s pretty clear: AfD line-up in the works, 4tus fired, new album in 6 months! Take care by us, better than the old ones!
  3. That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die.
  4. Man, that would be real scraping of the bottom of the barrel...
  5. The whole CD thing needs to be let go of already. They should release those remaining "CD 2" songs that Axl wants to put on The New Record, but other than that, I don’t want any other box sets, remakes, or demos from CD. We even have the individual tracks from the video game or whatever it was, for god’s sake. Sure, I’d download any old leaks of these other songs, but that’s it. He’s been toying with this material for two decades, and we need something fresh. Created by the people who are actually in the band. And in the meantime, any rare material (especially video) to be released should be exclusively from within 87–93.
  6. Oh, the good ole never-ending circles. They don't owe us anything. And Axl's poor release history is because of the bipolar disorder. I figure he must be on the 'off' side usually for decades.
  7. SoG may start off weird, but the ending is epic, and it's definitely better than P'haps, hey hey.
  8. Well there is some footage, so there could be more, who knows. Maybe it could suffice for a nice bootleg, never say never. But it's not very likely.
  9. The fact they still haven't released a proper NITL DVD (ideally the Troubadour or any 2016 show) still kind of baffles me. I don't count the Selects, that's crap. Eight years. Eight years since the biggest rock reunion of the last decades... and nothing.
  10. With a band like (and there’s no band like) GN'R, the "New Album Thread" on a forum is bound to be the juiciest one, isn’t it? And indeed it is!
  11. No, they shouldn’t have stopped after AfD. As iconic as that album is, it was the UYI tour that catapulted them to the top of the rock world back then. With Appetite only, I’m not saying they would have been forgotten, but they wouldn’t have been anywhere near the position they finally achieved. What they should have done is settling the differences after a few years, stop bickering like kids, and reunite no later than in 2006 (or even 2002, as long as Axl wouldn’t have had that voice). Instead of that, they wasted another decade. And tempus fugit.
  12. No matter from which point of view I’ve ever thought about this guy, I don’t think it’s possible for me – or anyone else really – to just fathom his mind-set, or personality in general. I mean, he has to live in a very special kind of bubble. And by this I don’t mean just that classic rock-star business that we probably can very vaguely imagine (the omnipresent fame aspect, chicks in hot tubs, money, not having to work, parties with celebs...). This guy has the balls to do gigs in front of 200 thousand people. Like the Freddie M. thing, yes. Doesn’t rehearse or often attend sound checks, comes hours late while doing god knows what. Then he has studios booked, with musicians sitting in there while he doesn’t show up for months and the money is pouring away. But then he does a gig and nails it and people love him, even when there's nobody else from his heyday music pals in the band. He calls Angus and becomes the singer of AC/DC, with the whole world watching. I think you have to be a bit of a psychopath to pull something like that. He releases an album that became a myth even before seeing the light of day, and then only chats on the internet, never promotes it, and takes a whole year to even start touring it. He knows people grab at every opportunity to see him and yet tends to disappear from the public eye for years, while folks on the internet are left to speculate, analyse 20-year old photos, and download dubious leaks. Sets up social media but barely ever uses them and has at least months’ gaps in those that he does use. Never lets anyone tell him what to do. Drags along his surrogate family with him anywhere he goes, giving off a vibe of a small cult. Doesn’t talk to the media, treats everything as a government top secret, takes years to release anything, and then puts out a questionable tune, to say the least, as the first song. No, I don’t think he’s straight-up lazy (and definitely cannot be characterized by just a single word, whatever that would be), but he definitely is a hell of an idiosyncratic, bizarre, difficult to comprehend, crazy enigma of a character, that’s for sure.
  13. Damn, I completely forgot about that. Well, it's been a while (I don't remember the keys at all). Anyway, Dizzy's position in the band is cemented, and rightfully so.
  14. I don’t have a problem with Dizzy, and I wouldn’t exactly call him a yes man either, tbh. When the old bickering couple finally broke up, it’s not like he had a huge dilemma as to which side to choose. Slash’s subsequent music, whether Snakepit or later VR, didn’t need keyboards, while Axl, on the other hand, always did – hell, he had not one but two keyboardists in the band at the same time! And so Dizzy stayed, minding his own business, playing the awesome Estranged solo every night (I mean, since 2011). And the fact he never told us anything of real value in the interviews? Well, no shit, as he obviously wasn’t allowed to (not that this has drastically changed since 2016 regarding even Slash or Duff). If you want to look for yes men, remember a certain guy reacting like a wounded rabid dog every time someone dared to criticize anything regarding Axl online; or a woman who gets hugged by Axl on the side of the stage mid-song and who holds an umbrella for him when he’s picking up his mail, for god’s sake (where’s the yellow raincoat when you need one, huh?). Yeah, if I wanted to look for yes men, that’s where I’d turn my attention to. Dizzy is ok. Neved done any harm that we're aware of. Playing his part. Why not.
  15. I'd say the reason was explained pretty well right in the second post.
  16. So I've heard the new David Gilmour's single, and the ending is pretty cool (I need to give it another go), but the very end was quite cut. And I remembered reading an interview with him where he said he'd called in a producer whom he likes, but this guy apparently started to mess with the arrangement of songs, like "does there have to be a solo, do all the songs have to end with fade-outs" etc. And I thought, fuck! Please don't let these money pricks who are not talented artists themselves mess with your material! And so here we go, a cut song ending where I'd bet a fade-out was originally.
  17. I could believe Axl's studio work frequency may actually have been different at that time than what it became later. But if Slash really was avoiding studio, it wasn't because of laziness. We know it was already basically done for in 1996. What they had there was... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach.
  18. SINCERELY, W. Axl Rose c.c. Big FD Ent., Inc. Michael "Duff" McKagan Matt Sorum
  19. Hmm, sounds like a Lebeis once again didn't do their job properly...
  20. Not that I really care, but how the hell do you have a half-mile property like this and still allow people to "trespass"? Don't they keep the gates closed? Or shouldn't there be two gates so that even if someone somehow breaches the first one (?), they should still be stopped by the second one, i.e. not be able to get anywhere close to the residents? I mean, close the damn gate, man, especially if you're paid for it. I don't suppose someone literally tried to climb over it, right?
  21. Of course, there’s no doubts this aspect is in play, but that doesn’t mean this idiocy is the only way it can be handled. (And if it was, there’d be no point in communicating at all in the first place.)
  22. Ha, whenever I come across anything this clown produces, it still manages to piss me off a little bit. He is a manager after all, isn’t he. Like always. "No, I can’t tell you anything. What you guys are saying here is obviously absolutely ridiculous. No, the label couldn’t say 'no' to Axl, how would they dare! No, you’re wrong about everything. Can’t tell you anything, everything is to be kept super secret, even though it’s decades old. I do know anything and everything, how cool am I. But no, can’t talk about it, except that you losers are wrong, and Axl is a god. I know everything. Can’t tell you about any plans either, except that they're there and I naturally do know them all. Some people make so much shit up, and some are never satisfied, think they know stuff or can demand things. No, only I do, only I can. Gotta go, new album in 6 months, yes, no, maybe." Why do the chat then? What a fucking narcissistic prick.
  23. Note the pillar on the right! (There's more in the flat, of course.)
