So, I wrote a song for Axl...

So, I'm new here. And a new Guns fan. Never wrote a song before, but was joking around with a friend who has a home studio and he's been bugging me to write him something (I'm a creative writing grad, bullshit degree), and tonight I was super inspired after seeing some shitty Axl performance footage. So what did I do? I wrote a song.

All comments are encouraged and welcome, haters, lover, fence-sitters, I invite you all to comment. My friend is trying to convince me to record it in his studio and I'm considering it. If it happens, I will post it on here 100%. He's a huge Slash fan (can I say that here?), and now I'm the one trying to convince him to write a Slash song so we can combine the two into a sexy duet. How fun would that be?

It's called W.A.R (how clever am I?). Also, not on any drugs at the moment or during the writing of the song.

Oh, I'm very brave never written fan fiction of any kind, nor do I plan on attempting it. But this made me realise how tough song-writing is and has given me a new appreciation for artists who do it well (Axl for one). It took a solid 15 minutes.

I write song lyrics from time to time and started working on one about Axl called "Train Wrecks (in Retrospect)" a long time ago, probably late 90's or early 00's.

I seem to recall that it was actually pretty good, but never got completed and is now forgotten, unread or heard by anyone. Turned out to be a more fitting tribute to Axl than the actual song ever could have been.

my friend sent me a 1:00 min demo of his idea for it. It's a bit jazzy, i like it and i will put it here for the fuck of it. i'm going to change the lyrics and write more, and add a slash part hahah. it'll be like a call for a reunion song.

I am not hating on you for this at all. I'm just saying that a lot of the posters on here were not born when GNR made it big and have never been to a concert yet they still say bad things about a band they are supposedly fans of.

I think it's creative that you did this.
