  1. Yeah I hear that. Hearing the bucket/Finck version is my finally holy grail with this band
  2. I remember waiting for the album for years, listening to the leaks over and over. When the release day came, I went to a local supermarket and picked up a copy of the shelf. I felt deflated. I loved the songs, but the album should’ve come out in 2006. I put the album back on the shelf and left the store. Then I got home and the copy I’d pre-ordered online was waiting for me on my doorstep I love the record.
  3. You all realise this is gonna delay the new album by 50 years?
  4. This’ll be yesterday’s news before we know it. She’ll get some hush money and everything will carry on as normal. Seems kinda odd that this shit comes out not long after the tour finished?
  5. My take is they’re both about child abuse but reflect different stages of the healing process. Whilst The General is more reflective, Monsters reveals anger.
  6. I’ve heard the clip. It’s BS. The joke number of versions on the cover gives it away even before you listen
  7. He’s gotta be fishing. Why else put us up on Discogs if he’s not selling? I’ve heard the clip and it could be a banger
  8. Try 1:07 onwards in the cellphone clip. Im 100% certain Axl is singing ‘The monsters they’ll kill me’ in both versions of the track
  9. Good spot. I can hear that too now. Would like to hear the original someday as it sounds a lot meaner. Maybe a bit cluttered? I love the version we have.
  10. Not so sure. He’s a good guy and with probable good info
  11. I think the key message is to take anything Baz says with a pinch of salt. For instance, he clearly mistook Monsters for The General.
  12. Ok so I’ve listened to both tracks probably around 50 times since Friday. I’m now of the firm belief that Monsters is in fact the much fabled Soul Monster. Axl isn’t singing ‘oh, but it’s over now’ during the choruses; it’s actually ‘oh, but its soul burns out.’ This coupled with the monsters in the song lyrics and, well…you get the picture. I also think that the band decided to release Soul Monster because of the cellphone clip from the Vienna aftershow party. We all thought that was The General. Can you imagine if only The General was released? Don’t get me wrong - I love the track. But, fans would have been like…WTF, this isn’t what we were expecting/hoping for. Of course, the natural conclusion is that the cellphone clip was actually Soul Monster and not The General. Kudos to GnR for doing this.
  13. They’d be crazy not to put this out to stream now. By the time the vinyl arrives, the buzz will have gone. Strike while the iron is hot. Plus it’s Halloween tomorrow
  14. For me, heating Monsters with Bucket and Finck IT NEVER ENDS GODDAMMIT!!!!!!!
  15. Absolutely love both songs. After taking an initial preference to Monsters, The General is also now really growing on me (can’t believe I’m actually typing that I’ve heard these songs after nearly 20 years of waiting!). Ive just re-listened to what we thought was The General at the Vienna aftershow party. I have to say that version sounds much heavier/meaner. The guitar parts before Axl’s screaming section are sublime. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy that we got these songs - kind of like an end of an era/closure. With that said, I would give ANYTHING to hear Monsters with Bucket and Finck.
  16. Hearing rumours that there are two versions of the songs: demo versions and final versions. Can anyone confirm?
