It Looked like an awesome show with a huge turn out, which is great to see. I am just to the point where I would like to see Axl return to AC/DC and leave the Guns songs in the past. He hasn't made any improvements vocally since this leg started. I am not going to get into specific songs that he sounds dreadful on because I think we are all pretty much aware of which songs they are. I will say that he sounds bad on more songs than good, IMO.
I am happy for those on the board that made it to this specific show because that is one hell of a crowd and the atmosphere had to be mind blowing.

Looked like an awesome crowd and a decent performance from the band.

Looks like an awesome crowd with some nice Axl rasp at the end of Brownstone.

At least the lyrics make sense and tell a story. SOYL is like random words chosen because they fit the melody.
Yeah, I'm not sure what the attraction with SOYL Is all about. I certainly prefer Move To The City.

I think it is a better song than shadow of your love, which isn't saying much.

That look on Richards face says either Axl farted, Richard was pretending not to have heard the same joke from Axl for the 1,000th time, or he was being scolded.

Holy shit, are these people actually alive? It looks like a cemetery without the bodies being buried.

Really fucking awesome Madagascar! Axl’s vocals sound like the studio version at parts. God I love this song.
Not a fan of the song but he sounds better on this song than any other in the setlist. It just can't be done any better. What an excellent show of rasp. I think he makes it clear that he will turn it on and off whenever it suits him. Unfortunately quite a few songs sound horrendous because he chooses to keep it turned off.

The beginning is always a mess but this sounded better to me lol. I think they only played it properly without Axl singing over Slash's iconic intro lead once in maybe Minneapolis.. The whistle may have actually been on queue too.
It didn't sound any different to me but I am glad that you enjoyed it. It's just great to see them continuing to tour and to have Slash and Duff back.

Wow, that sounded like a really good Paradise City and I am not even drunk.. Going to look for a complete video.
I am going to give it a shot also. Started listening and the beginning Is dreadful as always. That high pitch he uses to start the song usually doesnt allow me to go any further.

Axl sounds awesome on Madagascat. The beggining is the closest we get to classic Axl these days, and he nails the hugh stuff with rasp and a nice tone. Shadow also awesome, Nightrain awesome. Paradice City has been good for a while now, so has Don't Cry. As Inciting Chaos said, hopefully he gets Jungle and RQ back on track soon.
It certainly Is the closest we get and will probably ever get to a prime Axl at this point, unless he chooses to reunite with AC/DC at some point. He seems to turn It on and off like flipping a light switch. It would be nice to get one version of Estranged and Rocket Queen using his Madagascar voice.

If only Axl would use his Madagascar voice on the other songs we would have a perfect concert. He has that song sounding about as good as It gets live.

This is the first time that I am hearing Rosie from yesterday. There was quite a few complaints on how Axl sounded, but after hearing your clip he sounded very good IMO.

Seen them In 2001 at the Mellon arena in Pittsburgh. The place was maybe half full. Just guessing, but probably somewhere around 8-9,000 people.
-
No streams Is just fine with me. It's great to see that people have more important things to do(like actually watching the show) rather than playing with their cell phones. The whole day light concert thing Is still a bit unusual though. Thanks for the updates and pictures.

capacity is 70000. only 40000 tix were sold in presale.
I'm on my way to the festwiese, c u fuckers!
Those are not good numbers considering the capacity is 70,000. There seems to be many tickets available for every show on this leg of the tour.

Raspiest November Rain since 2017, IMO.
I was able to make it through the entire song, thank you for posting. Not a bad version at all.

It's not that complicated really. He always sounds good when he's singing with a lower voice, like in the beginning of Madagascar. His high pitched singing voice that he uses on the second half of Estranged sounds pretty much always like Mickey. The high pitched voice sounds raspy only when he's screaming his ass off.
It would be nice to hear his lower voice on the second half of Estranged then. The high pitch voice has to go.

I do not like the Chinese Democracy album In any way shape or form, Including Madagascar, but he was spot on from what I heard. How can he sing the beginning of that particular song with that much power and rasp, yet sound beyond terrible on the second half of Estranged? Every time you think you have him figured out, he makes you realize that you were mistaken. I didn't get a chance to see much of the show yet, but so far from the little I did get to hear, he sounded pretty decent.

That name has no business even being mentioned In a Slash thread.

I thought he looked pretty cool in 06 honestly. I agree I don't really care what he's wearing or anything. He definitely looks more like Axl Rose now than he did from 2010 until 2016. He sounded great for ACDC which makes his current vocals even more annoying haha.
Very true, , It would be Interesting to hear him perform with AC/DC just to see what version of Axl we would get. I can't imagine his current vocals with Guns being acceptable to Angus or anyone else In AC/DC. I would have assumed that this far Into the current leg of the tour that we would have started to see some Improvement and there has been very very little, If any, IMO.

Probably because he didn't sound like a dying mickey mouse back then.
Peoples biggest complaint was how he looked, what he wore and what he should be wearing, same situation as today, only 12 years later. Who really gives a shit what the guy Is wearing or how his hair is styled. Did he sound like a dying mickey mouse during the AC/DC gigs? As of right now I would agree that he sounds terrible. I generally give a song about 10-20 seconds to determine whether or not I can stomach listening to it, If I can't, I shut it off and try a different song. Simple really.
The future for Guns?

They are back on top of the world with one of the most successful tours in the history of music. I agree, an album Is going to do nothing for the band financially. I am all for a new album but why release something that probably 90% of your fans are going to end up stealing anyway? I would be content with the band continuing to tour as long as they would be willing to mix up the set a little bit. For instance removing Black Hole Sun and rotating some of the Chinese material with a few Illusion deep cuts. I would think that Axl could easily handle Pretty Tied Up, Bad Obsession or The Garden at this point.
