  1. Axl Rose going to a strip club, prolly drunk as a cool rock'n'roll recluse he is, adamant about playing his god damn jams nobody has heard... I can dig that.

I always thought it was a bit too convinient when Axl mentioned Better* on that RS interview from that Korn party and then, whammo, the song magically leaks a month later.

*If I remember correctly nobody even knew about that title before that interview.

To be honest, I’m kinda glad GNR haven’t got 10 albums out. Don’t get me wrong I’d love a new album with the original members - but so many bands crash and burn as time goes on

Bon Jovi should’ve stopped at These Days, U2 at Pop, Oasis at Standing on the Shoulders of Giants, same with Aerosmith, AC/DC etc etc

GNR have at least kept their mythical status coz they’ve never really released a shite album of original songs

    I disagree.

Every good band needs to experience the release of at least one shitty album. That's the only way to go and evolve as a songwriter.

I mean, Guns would be so much cooler if they had released a shitty album in '95 and then came back swinging with a masterpiece in '99, for example. I love the band and I like that they are timeless, but they haven't basically said anything artistic since who remembers.

But nostalgia is cool too. And they do that really well. I just like to have my bands less succesful and making music rather than just riding on their past achievements, as amazing as they are.

    But what do I know.

    Best regards,

Guy who once thought Bon Jovi's Crush was the tits and who LOVES Aerosmith's Nine Lives.

  3. This is pointless what if-ism, but if only he would've gone solo and gotten all three albums out. Man, there is an awesome alternate dimension somewhere where all of that happened.

Seriously, these instrumentals are really interesting. And good. This band had so much potential! No wonder Axl allegedly got depressed after things didn't work out.

  4. I don't want to fat shame anyone or speculate too much about someone's personal issues, but thyroid problems can cause weight gain, mood swings and issues with voice. It is really not all that uncommon medical problem.

But I don't personally care about any weight stuff. It is the voice that matters. And he sounds pretty great, considering that it is 2019.

So u cats found leaks of Chinese Democracy and no vocals from Ax

and u think these songs are good

    give me a fucking break

I’ll give it to u millinery folks - u got it bad man

if they didn’t make Democracy I can’t even imagine how bad they r

because Chinese is a dumpster 🔥

    DAMN

Saying something is bad without experiencing the said thing is just dumb, because then you have no way of arguing or explaining your opinion. They are just hollow words without substance and no reasonable person takes them seriously.

I can see Duff singing Going Down

But why would he, though? If Axl would sing it, then yeah, it would make somewhat sense, but Duff singing some obscure leaked song written by a former member? No way. And that was not a diss against Tommy or Duff.

If they put a song with Duff's vocals on the new album, the song will be a new song written by Duff. (Or a fourth version of Wasted Heart.)

The only sustainable source of income for musicians appears to be from concerts.  At these concerts I suspect 98% only wants to hear the songs that they grew up with.  When that is the case why bother with a new album?  For what gain?  For someone to just steal early versions of it online?

To create something. I write songs as a hobby and I have a need to create something new once in a while. Something that let's me vent my thoughts and feelings. Other times I do it for fun, for shits and giggles. Because I like it. I suspect those are the main reasons people do art. They want to and need to.

Of course, when you are a professional you need to have a product that you can market yourself with. Like a new album to advertise your new tour.

Also, one can be a performing artist without releasing anything new. That's cool too.

But making an album has never been as easy and cheap as it is today, so I don't really get all this talk about losing money and albums not selling enough. Plan the recording process carefully, record it efficiently, release it with hardcore fans in mind, market it to casuals and do a tour playing the classics. Not exactly rocket science.

  8. Team Brazil are probably some type "executive managers" who manage Axl and maybe come up with the... ehm... interesting merch. Because there has to be more seasoned professionals behind the scenes operating the massive ship that is the touring entity of Gn'R. At least I remember Duff congratulating this one female manager in 2017/2018, who got an award and she had been with Gn'R since the start of NITL tour. If I recall correctly. Don't remember her name unfortunately.

I don’t see Slash getting into this. It’s not really his style at all.

Stylistically those first verses aren't too different from Beautifully Dangerous, so I guess, in my opinion, Slash could get into it :shrugs:

I think the current band could make this really swing live. And I guess vocal-wise Axl could nail this too, since the first part is in his lower register and the second is in his high register, so he wouldn't need to switch back and forth, which, again based only on my own observations, seems to be the thing that mostly likely causes hickups to his vocals.
