  1. Axl wrote a whole essay about the ownership of the GNR name (Axl Rose Chat #6)

Here he explains that the version of Duff and Slash, where Axl didn't want to go on stage if they didn't sign the papers, never happened.

Then he goes on telling his version of the story.

But never does he mention the papers were signed later, when they weren't on tour.

Why wouldn't he mention this pretty important piece of information in his chat, which would prove he was right?

This document can easily be fake or changed. Or the dates could be put on there later.

If all of this was true, I guess someone would have mentioned it before in the last 20 years.

  2. What is the list? I don't have time to look through the video. I'm glad that someone has already said nothing from Chinese is on there. Obviously its not.

    10-Patience

    9-Mr. Brownstone

    8- Paradise City

    7- You Could Be Mine

    6- Civil War

    5- November Rain

    4- Estranged

    3- Nightrain

    2- Sweet Child O' Mine

    1- Welcome To The Jungle

  3. A 95-year-old Peoria man isn’t a musician, but the lyrics he put on paper are now being shared with the world.

Fred Stobaugh said, “I was sitting here one night, oh about six weeks after she passed away and just sat here kind of hummin’ a little bit and it just finally came to me.”

Stobaugh recently lost his wife of nearly 75 years. He said they shared a love of music.

He soon turned his sadness into a song. “We were, like, just as one we were. Lorraine and I.”

Singer and songwriter Jacob Colgan remembers receiving Fred’s letter. “What made Fred's entry so special was instead of a video, it was a large manila envelope titled Green Shoe Studio Singer Songwriter contest.”

It was an entry to his Studio’s songwriting contest. The kind of entry Jacob never expected. “He had written a song for his wife, ‘Sweet Lorraine’”

Fred’s song is about his life and his love for his wife. He said, “’Sweet Lorraine’ I called it. Wish we could do the good times all over again.”

Jacob said, “I started to read the lyrics and was so touched by the song and without even meeting Fred we thought, we're going to do something.”

Fred said, “And I was surprised. It wasn't too long that Jacob called me and it really touched him.”

Jacob said, “We wanted to put it to professional music and sing on it and he said, well you know that's great but I just don't have the money to cover it.”

With Fred’s blessing, Jacob wanted to bring his lyrics to life.

When Fred first heard the song, he cried. He said, “Wonderful, just wonderful.”

Fred said, “It just touched me. And I know Lorraine, she heard that too. It just has been a great life. If I could do over again, I would do it.”

Fred said he finds comfort in the sound of his song. It’s something he has to cherish forever.

He said, “The song really helps me. It really helps me. It just seemed like she's just sort of with me. Which I know she's smiling, she's smiling down and she likes that song, I know.”

    Hadn't heard this story before.

What a beautiful documentary, and I really like the song too.

    Song starts around 5.53.

  4. Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES) is featured on a new track from Brian May to promote the QUEEN guitarist's ongoing campaign against the U.K. government's decision to cull badgers in a bid to reduce tuberculosis in cattle.

"Badger Swagger", which will be available to download from tomorrow (June 4), will feature a host of guest collaborators — including MASSIVE ATTACK's Shara Nelson and Sir David Attenborough — under the banner ARTFUL BADGER & FRIENDS.

The track's creator, music producer Rob Cass, said in a statement: "To me, all nature is beautiful.

"This track is my humble contribution to stopping the needless slaughter of badgers.

"I met the 'Artful Badger' team on a demonstration to stop the cull a few months back and we decided the best way we could help was to do what we do best, make music. We reached out to Brian May, Slash, Shara Nelson, Sam and The Womp, Sonny Green and lastly the wonderful David Attenborough, all people who care about animal welfare to contribute and they all did so happily and bringing their fabulous talents to the table. I'm very proud indeed to be a small part of this incredible team."

  5. Saw them at graspop on the small stage this year.

I had never heard of them before, but they were on of the highlights from the festival.

    Great music, excellent live band.

Bought their cd when I got home, and I love it.

Can't wait for the new album that is coming out this year.

  6. From an interview with Izzy:

Steven Adler has spoken frequently lately of his desire for a reunion of the original GN'R. Tell me what you think of that and how your relationship with Steven is at the present.

Izzy: “Steven lives a very confused life."

But if it were to occur, you would consider the possibility of a reunion?

Izzy: “Yes, of course. I wrote a great deal of that material."

So it seems he would be interested.

  7. Yeah, if Ferg sang SCOM then I'm not so pumped... If they did BD then all aboard.

Apparantly they did BD and Barracuda together.

Would love to see a good video of that last one.
