Yes, I am one of those fans who have followed since 2001. It's perfectly normal to be frustrated. Im just trying to save you the time based off of my experience. This is nothing new. Much better to just realize that until the song is playing in your home, don't expect the journey to be "smooth"

Literally nobody is expecting that. But the band is outdoing themselves regarding the amount of incomprehensive bullshit over the years; therefore, people will react. But nobody needs your protection, you know? Experience or not. Some people here have been fans for a longer time than you – imagine how silly it looks when you’re trying to lecture them and mock them for being pissed off. Just relax, man. ;)

  2. @youngunner Maybe look at things in a context. Some people have been following GNR for decades. And while they surely love the band... the amount of delays, failure to deliver, non-communication, ignorance, incompetence and other fuckery and general frustrating nonsense has taken its toll, which results in people being a bit jaded, upset, and sceptical, even spiteful. That’s absolutely normal, given the circumstances. I don’t know how long you’ve been around, and I guess it doesn’t really matter, but try using some empathy and looking at the big picture, unless your sole endeavour here is just trolling, which I would also believe.
Plus, where else would people vent about this than on a band-dedicated forum? Live and Let Die is a great song, but sometimes hey, live and let live. This is not the first rodeo, oh boy no.

It is not defending them to point out that they are not empowered to make announcement. They work on directions from Axl. It is what it is. Blame Axl for telling them to not make announcement.

You keep passing off your opinions as facts, while you know fuck all, like the rest of us. You don’t know whether Axl oversees every tiniest business move, and if I’m to use logic, I say he doesn’t. That’s what he hired TB for. Say what you want, they are a bunch of incompetent, arrogant hacks. Way too many examples in the past to think otherwise.
Btw I’m not buying this alter ego of yours, Jarmo. :)
Also, I should know better than to get into one of the pointless arguments with you again. Nevermore, quoth the raven.

  4. To reiterate, the delay itself, while being a bummer, is not the main gear-grinder. It’s the fact that a) it was half-announced by the companies on the very same day, in fact a few hours after it was supposed to be released, which in a normal situation would make no sense; and b) once again, there’s not a shred of an official word from the best and most competent management under the sun.

Well I guess that's one way of looking at it. For me if I saw "Perhaps official release 📅 available in-store jbhifi" and I turned up to the shop and it wasn't there I'd be disappointed a little. When I see just a shipping date I have no expectations of seeing it even close to that date. That's just me. If I look at it as a promise then I'm inevitably setting myself up for a negative emotional reaction. I won't preach about how people should live their lives, just voicing an alternative way that works well for me.

That’s not one way of looking at it, that’s simply stating the facts – you said it wasn’t promised and there was just a shipping date; I’m showing you that it’s not true, as evidenced by the official web. Expectations about delivery time is a whole different story, unrelated to the original argument. ;)

One would say it’s reasonable to expect something to be officially released (disregarding any delivery schedules) on the day it was promised to be released. But oh well, this is GNR, so no surprises there.

All I saw was a shipping date for a single already released. Shipping date means means it gets to my mailbox when it gets to my mailbox.

See how I put a valid point of view out calmly without accusing you of being high or insulting a person's intelligence.

You have yourself a good day 🙏

This web, which is official, said Vinyl of Perhaps PLUS The General on 10/27/23 (now changed) and accepted money for it. That counts as a promise in my book (using just basic logic, not to mention it's a legal agreement). So yes, it was promised.

Guys, a friend of mine from the biz just showed me a bit from The General booklet. I’ve managed to take just a quick snapshot, but you can see this is the real deal.
Hope to get more if he’s back - I mean, he’s just left but may be back.

Ok, unbelievable but I got a chance to snap the back as well!

Edit: And here’s one from the inside! He may let me in on more, stay tuned.
However, from now on, I’ll only respond sporadically and in mysteriously short sentences (if at all). You have to understand.

  8. See? Here we go. How it’s suddenly hard to take a few more shots (of a legible booklet) and post it here. How long do you need, a minute? Yet - nothing. My guess would be it belonged to his colleague, they were in a bar, but he’s already left with it, and it won’t be possible to get their hands on it for another couple of days/weeks... And there’s still no comments as to what it is etc. Pathetic.

I’ve noticed long ago that when someone posts something like this, they never add any info, just sit back and let their ego feed off the attention. I mean, surely nobody cares wtf that thing is, right? No need for any description.
Sometimes it’s even entire hours, if not days; or the info is on someone else’s cousin’s laptop that they won’t have access to for another couple of days etc. What a crock of shit.

Oh yeah and they always suddenly start communicating in short, cryptic sentences. As if they’re Fernando or something.
