In any case, I certainly hope (and believe) this is the end of Fn'ando the best manager under the sun, the "yes, no, maybe" guy, the asshole present in every band photo in the last ten years... God knows I'm not a resentful type of guy, but he's getting what he deserves. I think he's finished, at least as the "manager". 

If Beta knew about this (how couldn't she have) and Axl finds out (how couldn't he), it will destroy him. Collateral damage: album postponed for 10 years...

I don't get it. Ok, she didn't wanna get fired or thrashed or whatever, but if she gathered enough evidence and then showed it to Duff or Slash secretly, are you telling me they wouldn't have lifted a finger?? 

Holy fucking shit, I always strongly, strongly disliked that guy, but even I didn't expect this. I hope he'll get what's coming to him.

Putting the superior tune as a hidden track would be really lame, i.e. it's quite possible that this is exactly what will happen. 

I’ll say the same thing I say in any of the dozens of threads on this subject: there’s no reason why it shouldn’t consist of both. Probably mostly CD 2 stuff, ideally also some brand new songs (if Axl feels like writing anything), and throw in some 94–96 stuff on the top, and we got ourselves a great "comeback" record. It needs to be really good, the pressure will be high, as this will be the first joint original material since 91. 
And as usual, I don’t buy that "there’s no money in records anymore" bullshit. You can always say: other bands normally do it, so can this one. 

A little post-nut tour clarity quiz!

The upcoming hiatus:
(a)    will be fruitful and the band will actually prepare an album within a year or so 
(b)    will generate another couple of old demos only 
(c)    stuff will be made but we won’t see anything (bar the upcoming vinyl) for another year or two 
(d)    same as (b) but Merchnando will make a brief, 5-minute appearance on Reddit with the good ole yes/no/maybe shtick

Melissa being absent recently:
(a)    she really was sick as said by Axl
(b)    she got impregnated by one of the band members and had to vomit a lot 
(c)    she was involved in a hair-dyeing experiment gone wrong and didn’t wanna be seen / had to wear a wig, so opted out completely 
(d)    sued Axl for not having been paid in months and went back to Brain

(a)    is fine the way he looks
(b)    should have kept his hair long 
(c)    should have grown a beard 
(d)    go touch some grass, mate

Possible, possible, makes some sense, but I’ll still maintain certain scepticism here. But yeah, when you think about it, something in this (him enjoying that he knows something we don’t and therefore being able to be all mysterious and totally laconic as usual) does ring a bell.

Right now, I'm going with the theory that Monsters was to be the hidden track, not one song with The General. Hopefully we'll still get it at some point. I'm still wondering about who leaked it all though. It must be someone very close to the band. As I believe it's Slash on it, I don't think it's something the hoarders have had for years. I think if they had, we would've heard of the Monsters title before this. No one had it. And it wasn't until Blackstar found the credits that we first heard of Monsters at all. And lo and behold, a few days later, everything leaks, right after the delay, on the day we should've gotten The General (and Monsters?) and a week later, they do The General live. I know people have been called morons on here for thinking the band was involved, but until further notice, I still believe it's someone associated with the band who leaked it. Just because I think no hoarders had it, and I don't see a random studio guy leaking it.

No I believe he did a little inside joke alright, but I don't think he was actually trying to tell us that TG is actually M. After all, nobody would have understood what he meant back then anyway. But who knows what's going on in that head...

I'd say you've done quite a leap there. I mean, "The General is a monster" vs. "The General is Monsters". I don't know, man. Gramatically, it doesn't really quite click.

I’m still under the impression that the November Atlas release was just someone’s fantasy. I may be wrong, but where did the rumour come from anyway? Is there some proper basis for it? 

You know what would be even more mind-blowing? If they played Monsters aka Soul Monster on Nov. 5. As the, you know, "second part". Another gift before they wrap it up for this year. Imagine that.
