aka how the album could have been but wasn't...

I just think that when they're in St. Louis this September, they should make an exception and start with Rocket Queen!!! :DDDD Now wouldn't that be the best move ever?

Asaroth, from Mägo de Oz, definitely not Axl, great band and song though. They even had a similar history to GN'R's
Wow, you're right, thanks!

Again, Izzy wouldn't play ChinDem songs, which means he would take turn with 4tus, the same way Adler said he'd take turn with Frank. That gives us 9 people. What a circus would that be. As much as I love Izzy for having created what he created, Fortus is technically better.
The question is how this works in terms of composing new music. Which we don't know as of today. Not yet, that is.- 1

Yeah but you can hear it's not the Uncle right off. The one I've posted... that's a different story. But no one seems to know much about it. Could be from the mysterious era between the departure of the 2002 mickey and second coming of the 2006 rasp, for example. Who knows. It might not be Axl at all, but like I said, if it's not him, it's a damn good impression.
-
Nonsense, that would be an overkill. Like having Bucket and Bumble there at the same time. This is perfectly ok.
-
To me, it sounds like the best impression of Axl I've heard to date...
-
But it does sound like Axl's voice. How do you debunk that?
-
Does anyone know what this is? I'm 99.9 % convinced it's Axl, and I guess it's the only leak I didn't know about. It sounds awesome.

There will never be a better opener than Jungle, it's as simple as that.

I remember something like that.. But that was some random vocal coach from South America or something? can't remember where i've read it though... And he had only some theories about what COULD be the answer to his vocal change. I doubt Axl's own vocal coach would talk openly about his voice in media.
Possibly. A former / short-term coach maybe. It would definitely make sense, because the difference is blatant.
-
There was a long article on some forum which was supposedly from his voice coach or something like that. The person said Axl had surgery of vocal chords before the 2011 touring year started. So that would make sense. Anyway, I can't assess its credibility, and also the article disappeared quickly, as somebody didn't like it apparently. It may have been at htgth.

If you're saying with the exception of Freddie, then your answer is simply no.
I know, but not really. Freddie just sort of stands above it all. He's untouchable, like Elvis...

There are many, many aspects in this, but all in all – and with the exception of Freddie – I think... YES.

IIRC Perfect Crime was there already in 2002. I honestly cannot imagine Axl singing it back then.

He did that before Coma on Live Era too!

YC Fast version? Wow.

Angus is awesome, as usual.
As for the setlist complainers - the band plays for the people attending the shows, not for internet jerks. And since they hardly play any single place twice (Sydney etc. being an exception), there is no point in complaining unless you actually attend both of these shows (and even then it's meant for different people due to high selling numbers rather than for the same crowd imo). I think we had a bunch of amazing surprises last year, and their catalogue ain't endless. They are still reintroducing themselves to the world, just be glad we have what we have. Isn't that amazing? Who would have thought?

Stay of Execution starts tomorrow.

I think he just wants higher selling numbers. As it was said, nothing new we wouldn't already know or suspect. I don't trust this guy. Besides, who has he spoken with? Axl? Duff? Slash? Their wives? Didn't think so.
-
To me, it was clearly about Axl. I mean, I love Slash and all, but that came later. It were two things: Axl's versatile voice with rasp and many layers/positions, and then him walking on a stage, swearing and smoking a cigarette (which I later figured was Paris 92). I was ten and have been a fan ever since.
-
It's definitely not just black and white. I obviously love the reunion thing and consider it absolutely paramount they release something they made together, whether just new stuff or a mix with something they did in the 90s. Well duh.
On the other hand, it would be definitely shame if we didn't get to hear what Axl and the NuGuys were doing in the 2000s. I hope he releases the "CD II" somehow, some day. It could be a box set and these songs could be marked as Axl & Friends, Axl solo or whatever. The fact he may not be looking back right now does not mean he is supposed to just throw away all he did in the ChinDem sessions.
However, it's true I can't stand watching any videos from that era any more now.- 2

are you completely NUTS?
this is one one the most magnificent performances EVER by a rock singer (and a rock band)
(in the final part of the show in a very hot and umid january nigh at the very peak of the summer heat in Rio de Janeiro)
oh, and have you checked how axl sounded a few months later mid-year 1991?
do you think that "the touring" is clearly noticeable?
I didn't say it was bad, but come on. He is leaving out many notes and finesses, the end is not as good as in different shows, the voice sometimes struggles... Still not saying it blew.
Anyway, I guess our POV just differs here. If I want to see some of his "most magnificent performances", I'll watch some 1992/93 show, especially Argentina. Of course, some of the 1991 ones were great too, and I still like Rio, it's just he wasn't at his best there IMO, that's all. -

In January 1991, Rock in Rio, Axl hadnt toured for 2 years and hadnt sing a full concert for more than a year and he sounded TERRIFIC
Not really, no. Especially the first night (I think) he was quite off. He couldn't pull SCOM, there were omitted parts etc. Still an awesome performance, of course, however, the pause was clearly noticeable.

OLD SPAGHETTI TASTES GOOD?

I was 11 when that record came out, and I loved the hell out of it. And I still do, although it's been a while since I've actually listened to the whole thing in one sitting. The sound, Axl's voice, the guitars, Matt, the diversity... everything.
