Yes, and you didn’t need to write it twice. I was around, and let’s not start pulling ranks as to the length of individuals' fandom. My post was about misinterpretation/confusion of certain time aspects which strongly reminds me of various fallacies the press used to be full of years ago, and I hated it, as they kept throwing shit at the band even in areas where it wasn’t exactly necessary, ok? Ok. I know what you meant – now I hope you know what I meant. Communication hopefully successful, let’s move on.

My bad! I thought the first post was deleted! Chill man, I'm not pulling any ranks nor trying to convince you or start an argument. And my post was all about me not agreeing with your opinion. Just that.

    Let's move on.

I don’t subscribe to this approach, as it doesn’t really make sense. It merely measures the gap between albums, yes, but it really says nothing, and it doesn’t mean there could have been any real logical waiting for the entire time. Don’t know about you, but immediately after they released TSI, I didn’t start waiting for Chinese Democracy, you know? Another point is the band always went through a major overhaul, making it basically two different bands, in the meantime.
Therefore, the first serious work on CD could be considered to have started in 98/99, i.e. the wait was about 9 years.
And as for the reunion, the first serious talks happened in 2015, but I think it’s safe to say any "waiting" could be considered to have started in 2016, making it about the same time, if not less, than the CD wait.
I’m definitely not apologizing anything, they suck hard in this regard, but I’ve seen this nonsensical "CD took 15 years to make" bullshit in the media too many times, and it’s just lazy, cheap, negative, wannabe controversial journalism crap.

I'm just stating a fact, Jamilos. I'm not dying waiting for a new album, just bringing in "funny/sad" band facts.

I don't know if you were already born in 93, but right after 94 there was an imense hype for the next GNR record that turned out to be It's 5 O' Clock Somewhere!

Then in 96 there was another hype, right before Slash quit and a lot of magazines talking about "Machine Gun".

97 Duff quit, 98 zero info, 99 people started to talk about ChiDem and the rest is history.

So, I agree to disagree about your indepth anaylis.

Crazy to think that it's inching closer to the 20th anniversary of CD, and we've gotten two poor afterthoughts as songs since its release. Then, when you factor in the disappointing boxsets of classic albums that omitted any interesting side material, you're left with, arguably, the most interesting potential anniversary release of them all in CD. I mean, let's be honest, we're not getting an all new album in the next five years. So, it's the anniversary to which we look forward.

Maybe this was Axl's plan all along. Overshadow the classic era of the band by showcasing how interesting CD's leftovers will be on the 20th anniversary edition. All those alternate mixes, versions, new songs, etc. It's a goldmine. Clever bastard.

There is a longer gap between Chinese 'til now then "The Spaghetti Incident "or "Sympathy For The Devil" to ChiDem.

This is the worst to swallow. We've waited less for ChiDem if compared to this "new" album since ChiDem.

With the amount of people complaining about "wokeness" I forgot this is a GNR fan forum and not a suburban community Facebook page

People like Sam Cooke, Aretha, Ray Charles, are all trailblazers that the white musicians who folks here wish took their spot in the top 10 were inspired by.  Factor in Beyonce's huge impact on the music world with her voice, as well as Mariah and Whitney, etc.

I am not saying I like any of their voices subjectively more than Freddie or Axl, but you sure as hell can make much more of a logical statement about things than simply "they intentionally left out white musicians in the top 10 because of identity politics and wokeness"

But now you gave us here an interest point of view.

This list is not about the "best" singers vocal and technical wise, but for the singers that had more impact in the music industry!

    Now that makes sense.

  5. How's this list made? Who makes this type of analysis?

Eddie Vedder in #105? Better than Axl? He's a good singer, but not better than Axl. Range wise, melodic wise, power wise.

Ozzy better than Dio and Halford? Ozzy is great, I prefer Ozzy, but technically and as "best singer", both Dio and Halford are superior!

Iggy Pop on the list? He's a great performer, but not a real singer, he is just on key most of the time.

    Mick Jagger better than Plant?

Best singer as voice + stage presence + overall catalog and as performers?

  6. My 5 cents on it:

Izzy wasn't asking for a lot of money, but equal share. Since he's not part of the business partnership anymore it wouldn't make sense to split the money equally.

What I remember (I can be wrong) is that he was offered 50 K per concert, which thinking about now would be a decent deal,

BUT, I think the main reason for him not to be a part of the reunion is that he was not a reliable figure to keep going years and years and years of a never ending tour.

Maybe he thought it would all implode in 10 shows, but I don't Izzy going on with the current band.

I don't know if it was Duff or Steven that said that Izzy ended up reharsing for the Nashiville concert in 2016, and something pissed him off and he just took off.

At this point, I'm starting to feel like our most realistic prospects for a new album are genuinely Axl dying and Team Brazil strip-mining the vault for every penny they can get.

That's what happened to Prince. It is a possibility.

What amazes me is to think how much material, that we don't even have a clue of, they must have. Like new / unreleased "finished" songs, alternate versions, videos, classic footage. I think, probably 10 years ago, there was a video snippet (i think five to 10 seconds) flowing around YouTube, with footage from a 1987 Halloween party and they were all in costumes. It was clearly from a VHS source.

Just image the holy grail being finally unveiled.

But I don't know, those damn Brazilians, are loyal as fuck!

So you're saying that you care a lot? Got it

I'm not going to carry on with the subject, not because it is not interesting to talk about politics and how does this affects the band, the fans, music, the world.

But because, not you, but the other part involved in this conversation is just mediocre.

where are the mods? we dont need/want this or any other GUNS page to turn to political BS.  Nobody cares who you vote for and both sides could care less about you, back to the musiuc

"Mods! Get that guy, get that guy! I'll take it goddamnit!"

Well, Chinese Democray is a political album, Civil War is a political song.

Axl is a political guy! So your point is waaaaaaaaaaaaay off!

You were on point until you used the words "absurd" and "great" in the same sentence.  That is a piece of garbage, and we are in trouble if that i where the music is going

I have an open mind aboud absurd! I didn't like Silkworms at all, until I heard it with the fast drums version, I though it was more rock than the "original" industrial version.

"Absurd", to me was cooler, because of the way Slash plays the main riff and Duff's bass, but the scream, the lack of "what can I do..." and Frank's drum style made it feel odd and off.

Then you got "pussy full of maggots", which I think is a horrible thing to picture and since English is not my firts language I always pretend he is saying "pussy for a maggot", at least is a better and angrier picture.

I don't know, I got used to the song, It was a valid effort, but I think they should have never released it as the first single (maybe as a B-Side or buried among other tracks in an album), because it was so different to general fans, specially for the way he sings, not in his trademark register.

Not this tired argument again. They didn’t include all the A-listed songs on CD, and you should know that. It’s a silly argument to say, “They weren’t good enough.” I guess “November Rain” and “You Could Be Mine” weren’t good enough for Appetite

You have a great point in there, CD is not comprised of the best songs that they had, but the proper songs that, combined together, would create a "great" body of work. Do you know what I mean?

Like, there's a vibe, an style, a conductive line that glues together the entire album, the songs match with each other.

This is the same choice for not including "Shadow of Your Love" on the LLS EP, or "You Could Be Mine" and "Back of Bitch" on the AFD album, or "Crash Diet" and "Ain't Fun", "New Rose" on the UYI records, or "Mongolid" and "Beer and Cigarretes" on the TSI record.

"Hardschool", "Perhaps", "Goin' Down", "State of Grace", "Oh My Good", "Atlas", "Absurd" are great, but they don't fit with the other songs in the album as perfect as the others did with each other.

    But that's only my opinion.

My only two complains are: why he doesn't write his own songs? Why stick on Covers? and why these weird moves? A little over to much. And it does look like he is lip syncing to his own track.

For my ears: Amazing studio voice :-)

Actually I think this is a Marketing choice, cover versions like he does tend to go viral, and then he also can be easily compared to greatest rockers out there.

About the moves, YEP, he could work on that, but the best thing is, he burying the feeling thaa only Sebastian Bach could do the job.

Yeah his stage performance has a high level of awkwardness, but he is super into it... so if he could dial it back about 30/40% I think you're right. His voice is incredible though, I think you're right that he's right on Sebastian heels. Hopefully there's some good stuff on this new album, I wasn't a fan of the first single

The album sounds a little bit as classic as the first Skid Row record. "Tear It Down" is great! I can hear Bach on it. Too bad he spoiled the whole thing, but Eric is huge in talent, working up a bit he could surpass Bach by a mile.

"Time Bomb" and "When The Lights Come On" reminds me of a cross between Midnight/Tornado with Piece of Me. Very 80's vibe.

Yeah, the guy can sing like a muthatrucker! Good cover! Only small, small criticism is that the lead guitar playing was a little too precise in parts, the main solo was good just some of the overdubs in between... maybe that's just me though!

I think he is as good as BACH, maybe the better singer for SR after Sebastian, he just need to work on his stage presence. But he's great.

I'd rather have a few more CD2 songs leak. (Which is possible) Imagine hearing a quality mix of Soul Monster with Buckethead on guitar and Axl vocals. Or a full studio version of The General, the mix we heard bits of from the 2010 after-party leak. I'd be surprised if the current versions of these songs with Slash are recorded and mixed better than those.

Any leaked songs (old or new), but unheard and with vocals will be an event. Those instrumental, not taking Oklahoma and Quick Song were SHITE!

I mean, they can’t continue touring in 2023 without ANY new music can they?

Christ, every band is releasing new music, some have released multiple albums just since the pandemic.

This is as unbelievable as it is believable. Those singles Slosh talked about really need to see the light of day soon….

Yes, they can! This is something we did talk about in 2019, and they did it. Don't forget it that this is a 7 year old tour, which was longer than the CHIDEM Tour that started on 2002.

A competition is a good idea. Let's collect some ideas and start a poll afterwards.

We should make a bet within this forum, worthing money, about when the band will release THE new album, at least somebody is going to be happy aorund here.

    I bet U$ 500 on 2025.

Reckon there's 500 of us? Got to be fewer than that these days!

Maybe... But we Brazilians come in flocks, so possibly 499 LOL

    My god, you're a real crackpot🤣

No 1 I don't consider my opinion greater than anyone else's (well maybe this one person). No 2, in the years I've been here the amount of people that have been personally offended by something I said to them is a very short list. Why? Because we're talking about gnr and there's no facking reason to be getting upset because someone disagrees, even IF they sound arrogant, stupid or immature. And the majority of my comments are not attacking people, you however seem to be in a new argument every 2nd day... So maybe a little reflection time is needed bud😉

    Relax old boy!✌️

    I don't like you! LOL

But you're right, I get in arguments every 2nd day with people in this forum that think they own the place. And there are a few of them here, but at the end of the day THEY are nice people, or al least there's someting constructive about their comments.

You're damn right! But here is our options: we stay away from each other, we skip each others comments from now one or we keep going at it for the last word. I prefer the first one.

And since I'm shit stirrer, Hi @Gordon Comstock, how have you been? Miss you buddy! You always had the greatest pools in here.

But, hey, now seriously, @Tom2112, I'm sorry if I come off as agressive, we fucking Brazilians are born heated, the shows they did here in 2022 were bad to the worse that they have made ever! 2014 was better than that, if you know what I means.

Anyway, I a little tired of this band, there's nothing against you or anyone else on this forum, just passive-agressive and heated jokes, that a lot of times are not that understood, maybe because of different cultures.

    It's all good.

Down to only three Fridays left in 2022, and the current leg of the tour wraps tonight, right? Guess no new music till god knows when.

You know what's sadder? Only us, in foruns, are worried or asking for new music, there's not a major general audience waiting or asking for new songs the leaks didn't even grab media attention, not even a footnote on the Rolling Stone website.

For sure, Beyonce, Rihana, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles are stronger and more demanded acts on the music industry right now.

Metallica, Ozzy, RHCP don't count as they are aways releasing something, for better or for worse.

There won't be new music simply by the fact that there's not a real demand for that, other than us, 500 die-hard active fans on foruns.
