  1. Seems like a lot of these rockers join that "27 Club": Mojo, Joplin, Hendrix, Cobain, Brian Jones, "Pigpen". I do wonder what would have become of the Doors if Jim hadn't died.

they probably would have aged well as did dylan, orbison, petty (to a lesser extent) etc. they had good chemistry and were talented individuals. jim would have been a poet till the day he died. the only thing that might have happened is ray would have broken off onto his own path - which would have meant the end of the doors as far as their sound goes. imo.

  2. i can't see it

Yeah my bad. I recommend you listen to it anyway. :)

She has crazy star power in that video.

i have heard the song before, but i realise that chemistry can change between performances, unfortunately i'm not sure which gig you mean .. do you have a venue or date i can do a search?

  3. apart from madagascar/reunion island, i don't see what the big deal is about those other things you noticed. they're hardly eyebrow raisers. really, you ought to get out and smell the daisies between takes 2f85.jpg

  6. ... the more you empathized with the Sid Vicious John Rotten coat of arms.

    fixed

Rock and roll was stripped down to the bare bones man,finally...at last......and it was amazing.

you've got to be prepared to hit bottom in order to get the bigger picture

It was an era where rock n roll had moved into football stadiums. If anyone's being honest about it...there's something wrong with that scenario.

this brings to my mind something that happened to me during the 80s. I went to a concert on the David Bowie let's dance tour here in oz. The stadium was huge and he was just a tiny pinhead way beyond a sea of other heads. I was in the stands, i could hardly hear him. there were no grand screens at that time, the screens they did have were tiny and way away also. I walked out after only a few songs .. not even half way through the show. And I never got a chance to see him again. It felt like I'd come to see an arena-full of people rather than him. I had almost all his albums at home, and I'd spent more time with him in my room in my early teens than i had with anyone else. at the time of the bowie show i was involved in the heart of the melbourne underground punk scene. i was so disappointed to see what this irregularity of 70s glamour had become. nothing really against bowie, it's just the way of the world.

But back to the topic, i think rock_and_roll_over was close to the mark about sid. to me john lydon was a far more interesting character. i recommend people watch the filth and the fury dvd.

  7. If anyone is overrated on this forum its Ron. He is not even close to being as good as BH. And how is BH overrated? Go listen to the TWAT solo again.

As for the 2002 band looking worse image wise I beg to different, that was the most interesting looking and diverse band. The band now is just a generic looking and generic talented band.

Like I have said before people knew who BH was, no one knows who Ron is. BH was the one person in this band who beside Axl had hte IT factor. When BH was playing all eyes were on him and off Axl.

No one since slash could do that. RON cant even come close to doing that, Ron is a bore to watch on stage. DJ is just a poser, the guy is EMO. You really like his EMO look? Please, id take BHs look or Fincks goth look over that any day. DJ looks like he should be in an emo band He is far from a rock star look.

While I think he can play the AFD stuff better than Finck, he still struggles with the industral stuff Finck was doing, and that is why DJ was not really a great pick for the new songs. But I still like DJ more than Ron. Dj can cover BHs parts very well, I will give him that.

If the 2002 version of gnr (with BH, Finck and Brain) and Axls non braided look, the band would be much bigger and better than they are now.

The 2002 version of this band was the most talented version of gnr, even better than the AFD version of the band. But Axl blew it because he took so long.

The 2002 version of this band with that look would be HUGE right now. That is the kind of stuff kids eat up. Hell kids love slip knot and bands like that.

god help me i think i agree with all this :o

except, i wouldn't discard the afd guns quite so hastily no.gif theirs was a 'kinda' magic

  8. since it seems to be of importance to you.

sorry for asking mate. sounds cool, that's all.

No worries, man. I wasn't being sarcastic or anything. Ignition kicks ass, BTW. I climbed aboard with Smash, and couldn't believe they didn't make the same impact with Ignition.

I have the shots on a camera now, but the cord to connect to the laptop is fucked up. Hold, please....

Amy, I will get down there sometime when things aren't too busy or messed up around here.

ye everyone of their albums holds it's own in my opinion. from their self titled to splinter i have most of em. ignition is the one of the moment, lol.

thanks for uploading the pics of the shirt. i love the diamond on the back. you're lucky to have it, it's quite unusual.
