  1. Axl's not running around like he used to, he mainly walks around and dances etc... which is fine. He looks great on stage, still is the most charismatic frontman in the world, and sounds good too.

I'd love to see any opportunity for all the guys to play together, from any era. The new GnR boys know they are in company of legends when there has been AFD alumni like Izzy on the stage with them, you can see the new guys respect them immensely for what they have done. :)

  2. Okay, cool. Thanks for the reply... I guess you have gained much more managerial/ business skills and knowledge along the last decade or so with your role at Canter's, but I suppose that is more like restaurant & hospitality experience. I just thought , like you mentioned, that you would have been the perfect guy to have an important central role with the band as you seem like you would have had 100% the best intentions for Slash, Axl, and GnR in general. That's interesting that you say Perla was keen for you to be involved with Slash more, and even more interesting that you think Perla would have maybe the thought about you helping a reconciliation between Slash and Axl. You appear to be not just the perfect middle man between Axl and Slash, but possibly the only middle man that could facilitate a ' burying of the hatchet '.

Do you think in 95/96 that the band could have brought in a band psychologist to help with communication and relations between the remaining members of GnR to hopefully get them back on track? Much like Metallica did with the period of conflict in the band when they made that documentary about it. It seemed to help them. I guess with James and Lars you have two big stars with strong personalities much like Axl and Slash.

  3. Hi Marc, with your monetary aid and general support for the band you were obviously instrumental in the development of the growing success of GnR in the very early days. This can't be denied by anyone, even the band members have been quoted as saying that you were extremely important to them.

With your passion for their music, your loyalty and also belief in them, combined with your business skills - did the band ever talk to you in the 80's about becoming their manager, or have an official role of any kind in the band? I think maybe you could have been a pretty big asset for them if they had of put you on the payroll for Guns N Roses back then... Just wondering ?

  4. Ron's the fucking man. Thankfully he is one dude that is very much in touch with the fans. God bless that motherfucker ! :)

It's probably fair to say that a large portion of the demographic of GnR live crowds are over 35 - 40 yrs old. I'm one of them. Loved GnR for a quarter of a fucking century ( damn it - it's been a rough ride! )... Older fans like me generally have responsibilities such as work and families etc, but also it's fucking annoying standing shoulder to shoulder with the younger crowds dealing with their shit for hours with nothing happenning ( trust me when you reach my age and standing front row in a GnR, Metallica, Slayer gig etc...you'll know what I mean. You just want to smack some of those dumb arse little young pricks at times).

Last four times I've seen GnR they have gone on around 8:30 pm and Its been so nice. Axl's voice was great too...

I also think any artist should be appreciative of the thousands of fans that turn up, pay their hard-earned money, and be part of creating a cool atmosphere for a good show. Surely the bands can be a little grateful for that, and for the lifestyle that affords them too. If they don't get that - fuck em'

    Rant over

Thanks Ron for having the courage to speak your mind on things you believe in...

  5. Fortus is fuckin' unreal. They all are great in their own way. I guess that's the awesome thing about this band is that there are three very unique individuals on guitar and could make a really cool and diverse bunch of albums in the future. That's if Axl allows that to happen of course... I've always thought if Axl is no longer hungry to put new music out then this band should piss off and find another singer (Obviously not under the GnR name!) - I would support this band and go see them live when they toured. I'm not sure who would be a good singer to front the band though???? When you've had the best singing with you it would be hard to accept anything less..

  6. Hi Marc.

Not sure if this question has been asked before - my apologies if it has...

Was Slash hurt by the lyrics on One in a Million? If so, To what extent was he hurt by them? Did it cause any friction between him and Axl, or among any other band members at the time? What did you make of it?

I personally see it as a very honest account of Axl's previous experiences. I guess I like Axl's honesty in his songwriting, and the fact that he often lays his heart bare to write a song is something I always found very special and endearing about the guy....

    Cheers, Scott

  7. I think it was just too much for him to handle. There is just too much pain and anger so anything to do with Slash is something he just couldn't deal with. I wish he would have a least

told me I can't help you on this right now but good luck with it and gave me some cool words to use for the Forward. That would have worked for me.

That sounds like the least he could have done for you. It all appears very selfish of Axl to not see something so special to you get supported by him even in a small way. After the shit you did for the band in their early days its a shame Axl forgets that and has lost his appreciation for your help over the years. His loss, I'm sorry for Axl. Good friends are priceless - he is poorer for it...

  8. Slash

Beat me to it ! Axl could learn a thing or two from Slash and his management. Slash works hard releasing high quality music ( thats my opinion only - i love VR and his post-VR work ), tours frequently, is media friendly and stands around after his shows signing stuff for every single fan who has waited for him. Can't fault him at all.

Axl is the one to be held responsible for the shambles GnR has become. The buck stops with him.

  9. I remember years ago watching Slash on tv here in Australia - many years after Slash had left the band. I think it was Letterman? Anyway he was talking about the story where Axl jumped out of the moving car when Slash was driving and all because Slash asked him to be nicer to his Grandmother or something? Anyway I got the feeling at the time watching it that Slash was just talking about a funny story back in the day but Letterman was portraying Axl as a crazy dude. I guess Slash innocently recounting a funny story from the past would easily be misconstrued by Axl as a personal attack as Axl seems to have problems with people being against him. Axl would probably be taking it as an insult that someone is talking about him in public and thinking how disloyal Slash is. Would this seem right Marc? Is that the sort of little thing that Axl would take great offence from?

Axl seems very sensitive to anything like this and I suppose he has major trust issues dating back to his childhood. ???

  10. Hi Marc, sounds as though deep down you still miss Axl. Such a shame that he has surrounded himself with the Lebeis fortress and they seem determined to serve their master. I briefly spoke to Del in Sydney and he just referred to Axl as 'Boss'. It seems they all have one motive and that is to protect their own arse by not upsetting Axl. It's a shame that Axl has let so many close friendships fall away for the sake of his ego...

One day I hope all that changes and he accepts people like you and Slash that were instrumental in his success and a big part of the fun journey in his younger days.

I'm thinking that you may have to be a bit more proactive with it if you do wish to talk to him again. Thats if you can penetrate the fortress and actually get to him...

  11. Met Slash after the last gig i saw him play. There must have been about one hundred people lined up to meet him and he stayed and gave everyone time & autographs well after midnight. He was really nice and quite funny. If you hang out after his show you might get to meet him. Maybe need to wait an hour or so. Good luck!

  12. I thought the GnR solos by each of the members were fucking cool - i thoroughly enjoyed them all. They have all got their own styles which adds variety, and they all looked like they have a good time performing them - which is important! I've seen Slash live many times over the last few years and he is just a star - he's even better now than he was when younger... If only Axl could shove his ego and pride aside and make magic with the tophat legend once more :(

  13. We got ripped off blind here in Australia. I'd be happy to pay over $150 for a GnR concert experience with a crowd of less than 2000, but unfortunately they are too popular here still. The Brisbane gig would have been close to a 10 000 strong crowd.

  14. Release a new cd with an agreement that Interscope must promote new cd properly and in return they get a cut on touring and merchandise revenue. This deal would obviously include a commitment/contract that a tour of a certain length is mandatory. Simple!

  15. Does anyone have this available for download? PM please.

    Me too, pleeeease!

I love the last minute or so of Axl's vocals.

Love the rawness of the recording. If only UYI's were'nt so polished those albums might have been more AFD-like...
