  1. It still concerns me that there is so much other stuff going on around the same time, and before also. These many other shows have been advertising and selling tickets for six months or so. It will be very interesting how GnR tickets sell over the next 6 weeks.

I was at a cafe today and they had one of the posters up on their wall near the counter. It was just bizzare. It was called the Echidna magic cafe on top of the Mount Gravatt lookout and it's a nice little cafe run to support and benefit Indigenous Australians. So I asked the aboriginal guy behind the counter what was with the GnR tour poster and he said some advertising/promoter group gave it to them to put up. He seemed excited about GnR touring and said he hoped to see them ! It was just so fucking random :)

I called up showbiz.com.au to ask them why my email ticket receipt has no seat/ or G.A section allocations for the three shows I bought for. They said they don't get it till' later when the promoter gives it to them. I told them that their service was crap - I mean I've paid extra money than the ticketek site tickets to not be told where the G.A section / or seats are (The ticketek tickets clearly specify where you'll be), and they take twice as long to deliver than the ticketek tickets take ! What a load of bullshit !

Anyway, that's the world these days I guess, people ripping off people any chance they get :(

  2. Whether or not they could learn a song and practice it in such a short time is doubtful.

Dunno why u say that ..

Just thinking about the logistics, thats all.

Ron living in NJ, DJ in Vegas, Axl in NY or Malibu etc...

Just them all getting together in the next four - six weeks to have time to work on a song as a tribute to the Angels is probably unlikely.

Would be nice though ! :)

  3. Totally agree 2 x 4. Axl was a big fan of 'Angel City' as he knew them so it would be a nice thing for them to do. Whether or not they could learn a song and practice it in such a short time is doubtful.

My personal favourite is Marsielles. But Axl could sing the shit out of any song you mentioned and it would sound great.

Aussie pub rock was fuckin' awesome back then.

ACDC, Chisel, The Angels, Divinyls etc...

Great music. Better than most shit that bands put out these days.

  4. ADR - it does get confusing. I'm no authority on the matter but i guess the earlier you buy seating ticket the better you will get. You pay extra money for the 'benefit' of securing better tickets on a site like showbiz I suppose. I guess General Admission might be different - maybe you could wait for ticketek and pay less for the same G.A ticket that you would buy for more on showbiz. Beats the shit out of me why they do this but I'm guessing it comes down to what it always comes down to - fucking money!

If the promoter/ ticket agency shitbags can ripp off the fans by having three or four different fucking ticket release dates then I guess they will do it. Its like we will add an extra $49 on top of allready high ticket prices so you can be so lucky to take advantage of our special exclusive superfucking dooper presale password special before anyone else presale ticket release .

    Bastards...

  5. Got my tickets with presale

Brisbane concert and tickets through showbiz.com.au

    Which venue and how?.

I just bought a General Admission ticket for Brisbane show ( My home city) on that Showbiz site. What did you get?

I might go for Platinum at Newcastle and seating for G.A for Sydney ???

Not sure about Melbourne yet but for those that are asking you can get seats in like row G at the Sidney Music Bowl on Showbiz... so head there folks !

    :)

Oops - meant to write seating OR G.A for Sydney...

  6. When is this fucking show going on sale?

Hey anyone seeing Duff at the Espy?

If i loved in Melbourne I'd definetely check out Duff in St Kilda. Wish he was playing a similar gig here in BrisVegas.

I received an email earlier today from Proticket.com.au announcing the Gun's show at Hunter stadium but no sale date as yet.

  7. ^ The other Angels band with Dave Gleeson singing has been more active over the past few years. I've seen him live with the Screaming Jets in the past and he's great, but Doc Neeson is a legend of Aussie music so it's just wrong having somebody else singing those classic Angel's songs.

  8. I thought Doc's not in The Angels anymore.

there's two bands running under the same name (slash, dont get any hints)

Ha! Your'e right though. Two bands playing under the same name with a legal stoush in the past. I like Dave Gleeson but it is obviously one choice for the front man of The Angels and sadly i doubt Doc will ever be in front of them again. Was looking forward to hearing him sing Marseilles - my favourite song of The Angels. :(

I wonder if GnR will find a replacement band to fill this support act position or just go with ZZ Top? Hopefully it doesn't delay the tour...

  9. I wish all the people who are talking shit about Axl would post a pic of themselves and their age. Would be interesting to see. Think he looks great. I am gonna guess he is below average weight for his age and height in US.

Ditto. I don't get the appearance obsession that some here seem to have .

Personally, I don't see the issue with the way that he looks. What should he look like? I think him being out-and-about is only a good thing.

Well said both of you. Axl looks great, and more importantly SOUNDS great. Such a wicked laughter. Good on ya' Axl. :)

  10. This is terrible news, Doc Neeson is in hospital gravely ill

So many of our great musicians have ended up with some form of cancer, lets hope he can recover from this.

I heard this on the radio today - Very Sad indeed. Steve Prestwich (Cold Chisel) died of a brain tumour didn't he? Not a very good prognosis for Doc I would imagine. Triple M said his touring commitments are all off. I would have loved to see him front The Angels supporting GnR - he's an Aussie music legend.

    Best of luck Doc !

  11. Cool. Thanks for posting - will definitely check it out.

I heard the Rolling Stones 'Doom and Gloom' song on the radio as I was driving this morning. I love it, The music's awesome and the vocal is brilliant. Despite their age those buggers are amazing.

C'mon Axl - give us something Dude !!!

All I hear is Doom and Gloom !

    rock3

  12. The angels have a gig on the 15th march in Melbourne at the prince band room and they are one of the support bands Melbourne 17th

I think I saw somewhere the Angels are playing other dates that are conflicting with the proposed GnR tour dates ???

I'm not sure what's going on but maybe The Angels currently going around with Dave Gleeson as the singer is different from the band that will be supporting GnR that will have Doc Neeson singing ??? I'm confused :)

Anyway, maybe we will get lucky and Duff will hang around to play a song or two with Axl, maybe even Neil Young might join in on the fun too while he's in Australia touring ?

    One can only dream.

  13. Is There Was A Time a ballad? Probably not. There are parts there that reminds me of Estranged.

Streets Of Dreams is one of the best Gn'R ballads imo.

You raise a pertinent point - What exactly is a ballad ? Is it simply a song that tells a story ? I guess we associate it always with a love story ???

Anyone know what defines a ballad ?

I reckon November Rain is an absolute Masterpeice.... It gets my vote.

  14. This is a most definite concern IMO. Shows are scheduled for March. It's January now. 2 months away and not even a confirmation or solid announcement. This doesn't seem right to me.

I already have tickets to the following:

    Bat For Lashes in Feb

    The Stone Roses/Prodigy in March

Iggy and the Stooges in March

Neil Young with Crazy Horse in March

    Public Image Ltd in April.

Of course if GNR do come I will go but to most people who have already bought other shows, unless they are pretty hardcore fans, the late announcement (if it ever comes!) is a worry.

My thoughts exactly ! It's around 8 weeks until they are supposedly playing gigs here in Australia and still no official word of it being for real.

I understand they have had a full-on year, and busy end to 2012 and they are all enjoying a big break over the Christmas holidays but I think Promoters of this tour should be getting a move on. For many of the other bands and artists touring Oz in the next few months I have seen T.V interviews, heard the artists talking on major radio stations, seen T.V ads for the actual shows but for Guns - Nothing !

I reckon an Australian winter tour would be more sensible as that would give people a chance to organise themselves, save money for tickets etc... but hey if they come in March I hope to be ready for it :)

  15. I've had Duff's book for over twelve months and haven't read it yet. I've been too busy and I'm not a great reader also. I struggle to read more than a few pages so a whole book takes me forever !! I don't know how on earth I made it through my university degree and ended up the dux of the course...

I have read Reckless Road, Steven's book, Slash's book and they are all a great read. I love losing myself in them and imagining what it was like to be around L.A all those years ago. :)

  16. I'm just trying to find out the penis size of a man I have never met before...

There's no need to be rude! :max:

What, were you too chickenshit to put a phallic word in the title?

I clicked on this thread thinking Axl had some giant party yacht. You swindled me. :fuckyou:

    Ha ! Me too...

    I thought how cool, Axl's got a boat ???

  17. Hi Marc,
