  1. Good news, gnr admin just came by the forum and let us all know that there are new gnr tshirt designs for returning/new members.

Its good to see they addressed the most important problems.

    Cool Man.

  2. Hi Marc

I've always wondered whether Axl (or even other Gnr members) had considered signing and managing up and coming artists at any point? It's something a lot of other successful artists have done, Jay-z, Madonna, Justin Timberlake etc...I could imagine this having been a good career move and positive focus for someone like Axl particularly as he has always seemed interested in the business side of things.

    Thanks

    Cool question !

I guess Axl , Slash and Duff in particular would be amazing mentors for some young band - either from a business point of view or creatively...

  3. I think Soundwave make money because of all the simultanous sideshows

Also the venues make lots from beer :)

I remember the last Soundwave I went to with friends that we got so sloshed that by the time Iron Maiden came on we were just pissed in the distant background and didn't even watch them. I wanted to watch them but just couldn't move away from the alcohol stands. Oh well, what are ya' gonna do ???

  4. Did people see in video uploaded here recently of Axl outside after some partying (Golden Globes perhaps?). A person said to him something about that they had seen him live 4 times and Axl joked about it? Axl's reply was "What 20 yrs ago" or something and he laughed.

It seems to me that he can have a laugh at himself and he seemed very relaxed.

  5. I agree Adam, too much going on in the first Quarter of 2013 in Australia. Very poor timing for GnR to book a tour here. June would have been better. Combine that with the fact that GnR gave about 8 weeks notice for their tour while all the other bands anounced their tours like 6 months in advance.

Also, people are struggling with money with 100's of jobs being lost weekly across the country, especially in the biggest age demograpgic of Axl/GnR fans.

Anyway, fingers crossed they get decent crowds to all shows. If not they could have played smaller venues and given us real fans the 'intimate' experience the USA gets ?

  6. Just spoke with the Newcastle Entertainment Centre and they have confirmed that the show has moved to the NEC. All punters attending will receive a letter from them over the next few weeks.

I'm not surprised by this low ticket sales at all. Newcastle was probably a gamble and especially trying to seel a huge outdoor stadium. In my thread a few weeks ago I wrote all the bands playing Australia in the first few months of the year. GnR would have been better touring in winter - but I'm not complaining, the sooner we get to see them the better :)

So after receiving my Newcastle platinum ticket in the mail yesterday it's all fucked up ! I'd personally prefer a refund and have the opportunity to buy a new ticket again.

    So now

  7. Hmmm, regarding number 1. - I'm not sure it would be a good thing for Axl to go public with 'His side of the story'... I reckon it would just inflame things that have settled down a bit over the years.

Maybe he is just keeping quiet to keep the past in the past, and move on?

What do you think Marc - would it be helpful for Axl to 'come out' with his side of the story ? or would it just add to the bitterness and anger?

  8. Same here. I lost my respect for Axl out of the original GNR. My respect has solidified and increased for all the others, including Adler.

Then why would you frequently visit a website based around the man and his band ? I think that is the more intriguing question. For all of you in this post who state they don't like Axl or have no respect for him - do you frequently visit websites of other people/celebrities that you dislike so much ??? If so, which ones ? Do you perhaps also spend a lot of your free time on MilliVanilli.com or something ?

I don't go to websites dedicated to people I don't respect.

Anyone care to answer this question...?

I like Axl because of his talent, the songs he helped create over the last 25 yrs or so, and no-one can deny the man is an individual full of charisma in an entertainment industry full of corporate puppets.

    Rant over :)

  9. ^ I'd probably do it.

And I thought you were a classy lady. :(

I usually am, but I can't help it when it comes to Axl. :(

    It's okay. I understand completely. ;)

Thanks. I am of the weaker sex after all. *flutters eyelashes*

Oh stop it. I'm a sucker for fluttering eyelashes ! Make me weak at the knees...

  10. Good Question... I think that the tide is actually finally turning for Axl and this line-up. It's just a feeling I have had over the last 12 months or so. The extra publicity and exposure has obviously done the world of good.

I heard the other day an advertisement for the Guns N Roses tour here in Australia. They used Paradise City in the background which is a shame, would have been nice to hear a snippet of Better or Chinese Democracy maybe, and the voice-over man said something like come and see "Axl and the Boys" rock out...

I think a lot of people now realise Slash is gone and apart from Hardcore fans that's all GnR was. Majority of concert goers wouldn't be able to tell you who else was in the AFD line-up all those years back. It was just Axl and Slash.

But yeah , in answer to the original post - I reckon the world is finally getting the picture. I hope that points to a brighter future for this awesome band and a new album.

    :)

  11. Hearing a stripped down version of the UYI albums would be great - i reckon there's stuff on it you mentioned that they could piss off - the telephone in KOHD is an example of going overboard.

As far as having songs removed well let me ask you guys this:

If Axl were to release a new album this year and fans could decide if it contained 30 songs or only 15 of the best - what would you vote for?

Admit it dudes, you would want to have those 30 new songs !

I think i remember Axl at the time after UYI release saying that they just wanted to give the fans all the songs they had done.

    Now , would you want 15 or 30 ?

  12. I wasn't going to be going to see them this time around as me and the wife have a new baby at home and can't really afford to pay the ticket prices. But i just won 2 tickets to the Perth show on Mix 94.5. Fuck yes!!!

So anybody going to the Perth show, I will see you there!

    rock3

Awesome man ! Well done. Enjoy the show and more importantly congratulations on a new baby!

    :)

  13. I'm not hearing autotune, but having just gone to youtube to check out some Crue so I could give this topic a few seconds of not so serious thought, I feel it's safe to say that we're not

nearly in that bad of shape yet. That's a whole other kind of awful. And I don't know how to unsee things. Fuck me.

Ha, made me loq (laugh out quietly)

    :)
