I just went to see Axl.
I think a lot of fans GN'R fans are going to do the same as you, hence why I'm not worried at all about the story here in Belgium making the news (7.000 AC/DC fans asked for a refund). Axl's name is going to drag a different crowd, and all the very positive reviews as well.
Their loss!
I wish I could go but I'll be travelling to the US on the 16th for work :-/

Call me crazy but I'd like a remaster / remix of UYI with the drums less prominent in the mix. I get the sound they were going after, but it sounds a bit dated IMO.
I would also push Izzy higher.
-
But I can enjoy his drumming without having to enjoy his stage gimmicks. I just don't like that gesture, especially when done to death. Plus he wasn't there for their peak.
-
I believe for him it really is a difficult process, where he does not want to redo the past and bring something new to the table (in terms of material). It's either that or the creative wel has dried up.

Hey Guys,
This has already been done before, but given the amount of people that have joined in the last weeks, and given the amount of discussions about GN'R's drummers, I thought I'd give it a shot.
Personally, I really like Brain's work (live and on CD, even though a lot was writen by Josh Freese). I also enjoy Frank, whom in my opinion is a good mix between Steven's groove and Matt's 'metronomy'.

So great hearing Axl, but I could do without Angus' "yes" every 2 seconds :-)

GN'R is a part time deal for him. 5 years in the mansion playing video games for every 1 year of GN'R touring.
Is this a Lana Del Rey reference?

Guys, this is a great interview!
With this kind of attitude, Axl can only win people over. So many things in there, gotta read it again!
I bet Angus told him something like 'you have to help us sell this to the fans', hence why all the press. Now if he could do the same for GNR that would be nice. We've also waited a long time for some words.

Smh. Adler twirling his sticks is 100% classic Guns. If that bothers you, you're probably a fan of the wrong band.
Or a fan of another version of the band?
Or a fan that isn't 100% behind every single GNR thing?

Wish Get in the Ring, Yesterdays and IRS got more love. All underrated songs and IRS especially.
I love IRS. Love the music (the intro is really cool), that super high note by Axl during the solo, the variety in the vocals. I heavily listen to it.

Sorry guys but those performances are horrible :-s
Can't stand that singer. And Steven is annoying always repeating the same things onstage (like circling his drumstick 10.000 times per song). It's all cheesy.

I believe he's going to give it his all, and for the NITL shows as well.
The Troubadour, Vegas, Coachella and Mexico were like warm up shows (and they were already amazing).
We're in for a treat.

UYI II: Estranged
TSI?: Down on the Farm (though I'm not much of a fan of this album in general)
CD: There Was a Time (all time favorite, all bands)

AFD: It's so Easy
Lies: You're Crazy
UYI I: November Rain
Difficult exercise, but those are the ones I always come back to in the end

Tkx for the heads up!
It does not keep me up at night, don't worry

So I suppose he's there to stay. Not sure I understand why if Ron n' DJ have been removed :-S

Ok tkx Downzy ;-)
Now not to be an ass, but Matt Sorum is still there, any plans to remove him as well and focus on the feeds of the current lineup?
Tkx for everything you guys are doing for us!

Always loved that album, my GN'R favorite - there's just ITW that I do not enjoy, except Bucket's solo n' Spanish guitar, and some of Pitman's atmospheric sounds.

I was just being sarcastic about the whole thing. Most people doesn't give a fuck about Slash performing ChD songs, they come to see reunited Axl and Slash playing old classics. You can bitch about Slash ruining your beloved, underrated, nongeneric, modern songs from Chinese Democracy BUT my guess is that even Axl cares less than you do. peace
I ain't bitching, I have an opinion. I love Better's new intro, I love their rendition of CD. I do not like the new TIL solo one bit. To each his own.
I was all for Robin / DJ to respect Slash's work while putting their spin on the music - it goes both ways. The new TIL solo completely erase Robin's work. I happen to like that solo, that's all I'm saying.

Well that's not entirely true @Ralphelmo but that's okay.

that cool little solo from 2:28- 2:42, that was Richard wasn't it ? It sure did not look like Slash was playing that on his guitar
Yeah that's Richard playing - I wish they'd show him on the screen, it's stupid to keep the focus on Slash at that moment.
That rendition of CD is pure gold!
-
Great.
New music would make it perfect.

I'm happy Richard n' Frank are in the band, since I've been following GN'R since '92. I now have a band encompassing all eras and sounding great.
A lot of you 'fans' are suddenly emmerging from God knows where and are disrespectful to the guys in the band, just because X or Y isn't there. I get it that we all have preferences, but there's a way of saying things. Some of you in this thread and others are just there to spill shit. And act like you know the reasons why we have what we have today.
You don't.

If this isn't a reunion, why coin the tour "Not In This Lifetime"? Not in this lifetime to what then?
To have Axl, Slash & Duff regrouping?
Should Axl wear flat caps with AC/DC instead of fedoras?

Someone should Photoshop that, just for fun :-)
