maybe its because I'm so used to this.
To me this has always been horrible. As much as it works on CW from the same show, that much 'rasp' on SCOM is horrible. I like what we've heard so far.
And I'm happy to have Frank drumming. The nostalgia thing needs to stop, I believe this is GNR mark XXI (is that right, I've lost count).

Then what was the whole drumstick picture about?
Just amping people before the show. Like the keyboard pic, the wire pic, the bass pic etc.
you guys just over analyze everything ;-)

Having Better on the setlist for a few shows and bringing Robin on stage would be a great surprise and I'm sure most of the fans would have a great reaction/ appreciate it. That's the good thing about everyone being cool with everyone (except for Buckethead and Axl, Tobias and Slash, and a few more).
I'd like to see Robin playing This I Love as well. One time. Just once would be great already.
Axl don't seem to have a grudge with Bucket though - not anymore (the shared Dr Pepper).

Just wait, I bet it's coming for later or '17.
No way they won't tour Europe, Asia, South America.

I bet it will happen - it's a great song, with great great parts from Robin and Bucket. It certainly should be in setlists from time to time. I understand maybe not every night because it's a demanding song for Axl and they have already a lot of big guns / lengthy pieces, but it would be great to hear Slash's take on it.
On a side note it would also be the total reverse situation, having Slash playing someone else's parts in his band.

^^ Probably because Slash was mending fences.

damn, I need that issue!

mostly CD, then UYI II.
I enjoy UYI I lately.
Barely listen to AFD (studio) but love live versions by the Nu Band.
Never listen to TSI.

The one Axl said had the meanest section they've ever done. Can't recall the title :-\

Anyone else notice that the e-mail refers to Slash and Duff, as well as Axl, as "founding members" this time? Looks like things are moving in the right direction.
Yep, same here. Looking good!!

Not in a specific order:
There Was A Time
Estranged
Nightrain
It's So Easy
November Rain

I'd solve it like this. Let Steven play the AFD songs and let Matt play everything else. If Steven can't hold it together then Matt plays everything. As for Frank....... sorry but take a hike, you're not needed or wanted.
How can they rotate drummers in the middle of a live show when songs are following one another. That's not needed. Frank's just fine. Just drama needed.
-
Maybe they're just doing Vegas and Coachella. Hence no interviews, announced dates, etc.....
I don't think Axl can afford to do 4 shows with Duff and Slash, then go back to new Guns. People won't have it.

''Why has W. Axl Rose been replaced with The Laughing Cavalier?''
Now that's a good one :-)
-
What's the difference between filmmakers and song writers? Sounds like you're talking about music with no meaning.
-
Really unpopular opinion here. Axl sounded better in '06 than on some UYI tour dates
Totally agree. He was better overall in 06.
-
Frank will be the only drummer, and that's a good thing.
No need for the drama, we just need a functioning band behind the golden trio.

When you listen to Duff talk about the experience he had touring with Axl in place of Tommy a few years ago, it sounds like him and Axl did have and have since had a really heartfelt reconciliation. Seeing Slash advertise the Coachella announcement on his Instagram, and just the reality that this is happening, I think he and Axl have had some interesting talks and have reconnected. This sort of makes the reunion seem a lot more like Axl's nugnr fell apart more than some heartfelt reconciliation.
Axl is just silent so we haven't heard him weigh in on Slash being back in GN'R. And Slash is, I think, sensitive to Axl's desire for privacy, so we haven't heard Slash say much about him and Axl reconnecting other than when he said it was "really cool" in the summer. I'm sure with time we'll learn more about Axl and Slash mending their relationship
These guys didn't talk to each other for 20 years. I'm not buying the "well NuGuns isn't working, I will call Slash up, and I'm going to do it only for this reason" narrative that is being tossed around in this thread
This. Is exactly how I see what's happened. But people will put this whole reconciliation to a negative twist.

Chinese Democracy Tracks: Who plays the Buckethead/Bumblefoot parts?
in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Posted
If Slash is to play them, he'll make them his own. Like Robin / Bucket n Ron did with the old songs. Nothing wrong with that, as long as the key notes / parts are there.
It seems that's why they did already at the Troubadour, with CD and Better.
