Waiting for the day he sings hardschool the same way he sings Chinese. Wish he would use that vocal approach for most of the songs.

Seems like Axl hit the F#5 note live on TWAT exactly like on the album. Extremely impressed.

Pretenders are a great band. Chrissie Hynde is rock royalty.

Don’t know if someone mentioned this but Axl sang with the top half of the mic stand like he used to do in the 90’s. Don’t think he’s done that since.

He was very fat in 2016 and still sounded great. He’s leaner now and sounds horrible. the difference is having a vocal coach/ practicing vs not

My wife was with me through the whole GnR saga too. Until she divorced me…. I think the wait time between Chinese and any new material was too much for her to handle.

Imagine if Axl were still able to sing these songs the way his original vocals were recorded…

I have to say. The best song of this concert was Chinese. Vocals amazing and the band as a whole sounded extremely tight. Really wish they would do a one-off release of this current band’s rendition. Head and shoulders above the album cut. It’s harder and more chugging thanks to the change in drumming and Duff’s bass.

There was a lot of bad. I just rewatched San Juan 2010 and started crying.

It’s not even the LALD notes. It’s the basic stuff. Easy, Jungle, Nightrain….

I agree the live setting is great and mad respect to all of them but disagree that he sounds the same as he did since 2016. It’s upsetting and you honestly never know what he’s doing (or not doing) to preserve his voice in between tours.

I will be shocked if he gets through this entire tour without either cancelling or permanently damaging his voice.

You’re being optimistic. He’s having issues with his range. He can’t dip in and out anymore. Unfortunately happens with age, wear and tear and not doing what needs to be done to preserve what’s left in the tank. He worked on it for 2006, 2010 and 2016. regardless, I’ll continue to go to as many shows as possible because once they’re gone, a major part of the history of music will be gone with them. Let’s just enjoy what we get while we still can.

Listened to most of the entire concert. It will be very interesting to see how his voice holds up throughout this tour. Love the guy to death but it’s not looking too promising.
