You people have no idea what your talking about. The Stones have plenty good songs post 81.... I admit not good albums but good tracks for sure!

Mixed Emotions, You Got Me Rocking, Love is Strong, Out of Tears, Saint of Me, Out of Control, Dont Stop, Anybody Seen My Baby?, Slippin Away, Flip the Switch, Streets of Love, etc

I kinda digged Angry the latest single, lets see what the new album has to offer. It has Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, etc plus Bill Wyman original bass player on one track with Charlie.

Don't forget Thru & Thru. It's a banger with Keef on vocals.

This reminds me when in 4th grade, I asked my Mom what the C word meant and she just about fell over lol.  "WHERE did you hear that?!"  "I mean, idk like.. on TV?"  (the truth was, Bad Obsession, of course, from an album that SHE herself bought me :lol::lol:)

Same! Only my grandparents bought it for me. 😆 The parental advisory sticker went past them.

I am on the exact opposite side of the equation, but I'd love to see Guns N'Roses perform at the VERY cozy James L Knight Center in Downtown Miami. James L Knight Center only has about 4,500 seats and I'd love to see the Guns and their Rose Brothers play in an intimate setting like the James L Knight Center is. 😀

I went to a show there in 2018, while staying on Miami and it was a super nice venue. Very comparable to the smaller EU theatres over here.

How is it different from other football stadiums? We don't have many of these in Europe and certainly I don't remember ever seeing a concert taking place in a ballpark. So I'm curious how the show or experience of it is different...

Closest experience was watching Guns at Stade de France in Paris. The lighters switching on during NR was a pretty cool sight to behold but I prefer regular venues or festivals tbf.

Yeah, and the "yeah!" and "Ooooh!" and ending each line with an "-ah" is a classic James Hetfield sound. But it can be overdone and silly. This is a case of that.

Also - did I miss something? Earlier in the thread someone implied that Slash and Duff approached Axl with these songs, and Axl said okay or at least didn't say 'no.' Why do we think this? Was this stated in an interview somewhere?

It was my understanding that Axl told Slash and Duff 'these are the next songs I want to release,' and they got to work. Not the other way around.

I totally agree with the overdone Axlisms. He seemed to resort to ooohs & aaays a lot on the village leaks. In the case of Perhaps, the "drive" of the verses would have been just fine without them.

Im not sure what you are asking me to explain exactly, but the first verse is a beat out of time and the second is half a beat and then the 3rd moves into time. this is done on purpose just moving it back in the studio on pro tools. Why Axl wanted it like this, who knows. probably to mask the fact the song has no chorus and only 2 different verses, to make it seem like the song has more substance i guess.

Stylistic choice, my behind. 😆 Sloppy drunk "edgy" editing.

I didn't realise we had touchtunes here, never even heard of it before today

80k at Wembley, don't tell Carl Froch

    P.S...Leeds would take more 🤣

Tried to locate one in Belgium. No such luck. Except the utterly bland solo the song is actually pretty okay. Just hope the choruses sound a little clearer on the finished product. A non-leaked song next is too much to ask, as a next step? 😈

happens at 0:23 in absurd on the "screaming fucking banshee" line, that vocal starts before the beginning of the next bar. they do it right live and they did it right in '01. Would it have been something to do with the vocal track being moved from the original project onto the new slash+duff instrumental?

    Yeah it's rough asf

Even our teenage garage band wouldn't have tolerated such a sync issue to slip into our fee giveaway demos. I can't understand the Perfectionist or the label allowing it to leave the cutting room that way. Mind-blowing, as if it were done on purpose to screw with us.

This is the first tour since 2017 where Axl has consistently sounded decent for around half the show. I'd like to see them add You Ain't The First and Black Leather eventually, and bring back the slow You're Crazy, so we get even more of Axl's natural range. The Garden or Marseilles would probably be good too.

I saw him in 2010 and it was like a different person, it was the last year of 'classic Axl' IMO. I've enjoyed all the shows I've seen since then, but 2010 was a different level. The reunion was definitely late but the same could be said for most of this bands career...

Yeah, 2006 and 2010, I count among the best shows I've been too. I was 100% blown away by Axl's voice and presence. Axl/DC was very good as well. 2017 and on, I had fun nights because I lowered my expectations accordingly. That's the slightly painful difference.

Today I decided to go to their gig in Paris too... Haha I'm crazy, and my girlfriend is crazy enough to go with me!! Yesterday was so awesome, I had to go one more time! Just arrived an hour ago, Now I'm drinking beer in the hardrock cafe in Paris :shrugs:

I had the time of my life in 2017. We met a bar / hotel owner who was also a fan and went to the concert. He gave me and my girl tons (shittons really) of free drinks while we didn't intend to "party hardy", you know. 😆 Cheers to him!

I agree 100% i believe Better and Street of Dreams could’ve been top hits and in the late 90’s - early 2000’s and be considered classics by now. And like Black Sabbath, GnR could’ve had two recognizable successful eras (kinda like Ozzy and Dio) . Even though we know the second one was never gonna beat their peak, things would be a lot different now if CD came out in 2000, instead, we have to put up with this shit show to hear a song we already know well😁

Better could have done well, but SoD just isn't a very good song.

The reviews in the newspapers are harsh. Oh well, GNR (and especially Axl) will never be a favourite in the Flemish press at least. What I find interesting is that one reviewer found the first two hours weak, but loved the last hour with SCOM, NR, Locomotive and Knocking on Heaven's Door, while I wanted to scream STOP! at them for making that song endless. I loved all the deep cuts, it really feels as a service to us diehard fans, as most casuals just call out for November Rain or Paradise City (half an hour in the set )

In another paper they say Axl has no voice and no charisma. Then again, he says he was standing with his back to the stage when Duff sang and thought: Oh, he's getting better. Seriously, who could mistake Axl's voice for Duff's? He sounds a bit bitter as well because the press wasn't allowed to take pictures, apparently, and the reviewer ends with the snide remark Axl has only maintained his arrogance from his glory days. I did see photographers in the beginning, though, and in another newspaper I saw pics of last night, so that's fake news.

But what can you expect from papers who still start off every review with: Contrary to what we're used to, GNR only started 3 minutes late

I didn't mind Brownstone gone, but people around me were shouting for it, so it was definitely missed.

From where I was standing, 7 rows or so on the right side, so near the stage, I felt I was between mostly diehards who could sing along to most songs, except for Hard Skool. There was some moshing now and then, so I felt that the audience was good, throughout the whole show. But my friend who was in front of Duff, a few rows in, said it was dead around her. So she had the feeling the crowd was lame.

This was my 10th show and I think it was one of the best. The setlist was great and I really feel if it hadn't been for the curfew, we might have gotten a surprise, or maybe just Brownstone. Because Axl was really into it. It's really great to see him so happy on the tour this year. It makes me think that by the end of it, we'll have seen a few surprises and some great shows. This show didn't have those dead times like I sometimes have in other shows, where it's slow song after slow song around the middle of the set, I felt this was a lot more balanced.

I think it's been mentioned before, but I felt Absurd got a better reception than Hard Skool. When Absurd started, people started getting into it immediately. Tbh, I didn't check if they stayed into it after that, because I had a great time watching Axl do it. Whenever that loud scream comes, he pointed at Melissa, I don't know why, but I thought it was really funny

I think on HS his voice really let him down. I had great night despite the dead crowd with two German girls in the front rows. A few Mickey jokes here and there to lighten thing up. But overall, the band really delivered a solid and fun show. From a setlist perspective, this was the best Belgian show next to Graspop 2006.
