I really hope it's not his last though. Loved seeing him live 2 years ago.
Yes, me too of course. I love his last two albums, very tasteful and the music really benefits from his age in my opinion.
I think he's just very aware that time runs out, so to speak.

Buddy Guy's recent album "The blues is alive and well" has a couple of songs that deal with closure, "A few good years", "End of the line", "When my day comes". It's pretty intense.

A new album with Axl would have been very interresting, but oh well. Brian deserves to be the singer for the (final?) album.
Maybe it's better this way. Axl had such a great run on that tour, as things stand now he won't get the opportunity to fuck that up. -
Yeah, Song could be called "45 millions", talk about singing the blues that people can relate to!

Yes, that would have been the perfect window for a reunion.

Doesn't matter. Do you really believe having Buckethead and/or Finck solos on the next Guns album is a possibilty?

Cheers is good, Frasier is fantastic.

Yeah, I don't think Slash would tolerate any other guitarist playing big solos on the next Guns N' Roses album. Maybe Fortus Longus gets a few lead licks here and there like Izzy on Appetite. I hope so, actually since he is really good at lead guitar. When they do Wish you were here I actually like Richards playing more.
There really shouldn't be any guitar players featured other than Slash and Fortus, in my opinion. -
Really nice interview, cool vibes.
I liked when Slash said that he still gets triggered to have a ciggi often, makes him more human. -
Cocks N' Roses
Maybe he was a bit to cocky for the other guys.

Mh, best option would be AFD5 writing a new album from scratch. Not gonna happen.
Next best option: The current band writing 6-10 brand new songs and record them. Add the best songs from Axl's vault, completely rerecorded by the current band with brand new vocals from Axl.
I really, really hope the next album (if there is one) is not some kind of mishmash featuring long gone players and vocal tracks from all kinds of years/ sessions. That would give the album a similar vibe as Chinese and it would make the band look weak and fake.- 1

If Slash speaks the truth here this is fucking awesome.
Maybe they really are in a much better place than we think and new music is indeed on the way.

Yeah, Steven should join a real band. This whole wannabe GnR stuff is just sad.

He won't force Axl to do anything. He will just leave.

There is no "this is better than that" in music, it's all just opinions and a matter of taste.

The difference is - at this point Slash and Duff are not replacable anymore. Everyone else is.
Does that make a difference to Axl though? I doubt it.

I think using old to very old vocal tracks would be super lame. Maybe Axl wants to prove that he is GnR still and uses recordings of Brain, Fink, etc. If that's what we get it is clear that Slash and Duff are officialy Axls bitches now.
-
I guess it could be quite difficult to find inspiration for them, as individuals and as a band. They are quite old now, they are rich. Like Wasted said, all the battles are over. Where do we go now?
Just putting Axl on top of some unispired random riffs won't cut it and I don't think Axl would do it this way.
They have to get Izzy on board, but even if that happens, could there be the needed chemistry?

I think that one of the problems ahead is the vocals of Axl. He will not match the vocals recorded 10+ years ago and it will not be a cohesive record if you can hear the change of voice (quality) from one song to another.
He can of course rerecord all the old vocal-tracks but I highly doubt he is willing to do that. :/
He better fucking should. Even the thought of having 10+ year old vocals on a new GNR album is a huge turn off.- 1

It doesn't mean much but it's still good news. And it puts a little pressure on Axl.
-
He likes By the sword, wasn't there a story with that song?
With SMKC, he probably likes bits and pieces, guitar riffs, etc.
-
Come on, some guys make it sound like you have to choose between Myles or Axl as if they are the only two singers on this planet.
Slash could team up with so many more interesting singers than Myles, doesn't have to be someone well known. But he doesn't want to leave his comfort zone, which is understandable but results in these boring albums with boring Myles.
I just hope he's doing a differnet kind of project next if there is nothing going on with Guns.

It's a great song, unfortunately the album version is not that good (the old man voice, the horns, guitar solo arrangement).
