If they just do whatever Axl tells them too then they are not managing in the truest sense of the word.

I wonder how Axl feels about this management arrangement two years down the line? If he becomes at all unhappy with how things are it's going to be a hard one to disentangle himself from.

Totally agree but they should know better than to put anything other than banal and positive stuff in PM's to fans. It's like that psychology experiment done with small children where they are left alone with a bag of sweets and the instruction to not eat one. Very few pass the test.

that's probably why he doesn't ask for it, because he's in there and he's living the fans dream (and good on him) however he probably know's that it would be a waste of time asking, because deep down I think we all know GNR don't do message forums. Axl is old school anyway, it's not as if he is tweeting everyday or anything, social media just isn't in his nature.

A member of the band once told me about mygnr that the cupcakes run this place and the worst part of it is that good people here don't do nothing to stop it/them... so maybe this is beta's and gnr opinion on mygnr and that's why she is calling the mods assholes...because they do nothing!

what did u guys do when ron was attacked last time he was here ? what do u guys do when people post very stupid and hurtfull stuff about the band ,band members or managers ? Im not defending what she said, she was wrong in saying it but she said it in a pm , and maybe she said it cuz gnr is tired of mygnr trolling. We have the biggest gnr community and we could have band members here talking to us on a regular basis but instead we have vincent vega, bba and crew running around kicking ass.

I agree to a certain point but Subs and HV have been addressing this with the recent board changes. All forums attract cupcakes, I am a member of one of a site called Mumsnet which is one of the biggest and influential UK sites (big enough for the PM to do a Q&A there) but it is rampant with cupcakes, they can only do a limited amount about it.

If I was GnR I would be more concerned about the amount of previously hard core, defensive fans who have slowly been doing an about face over the last six months or so. I've even seen Volcano have the odd wobble. This should tell them something but I really don't think they want the kind of diehard fans that reside here.

I get the impression at this point they would rather not have a hardcore fan base, we seem to be perceived as a nuisance. I guess the casual, ask no questions ticket buying public are preferred. It's very sad that they can't put their annoyance at the leaks (and I think they are entitled to be a bit peed off) to one side and capitalise on the positive reception Going Down has had. To say that the leaking of 3 demos, two of which were alt versions of an old song, means everything is spoilt is the kind of response I would tell my six year old off for. A manager of a major rock band should be much more neutral than this. Of course here lies one of the biggest problems in TB managing the band rather than just Axl, it's not business anymore it's personal.

Based on anecdotal evidence I actually think he talks a lot to anyone who will listen whilst drinking mojitos and eating chilli burgers.

I think the assumption is that Del's very upset statement plus Manets fb convo with Beta covers the official take on the leaks. In reality I expect the band will all hold individual views. I can't see Ron or Dj being bothered, more the opposite to be honest and Tommy has come rather well out of it all too.

Let's say the camp was involved in these leaks in some way, is it coincidental that the one new song leaked is a Tommy song when he is about to embark on a run of Replacements gigs? The song has been we received so a bonus for Tommy. Not sure I entirely believe this but it's a thought that just occurred to me.

yeah i was thinking maybe they're just throwing us a couple of bones after the constant negativity on the forums to keep us happy for a while. maybe it's they're way of releasing stuff for free without having to worry about the quality. and that's why only remixes and tommy's song leaked.

It is illegal and it is theft there is no way around this fact but if the band had a larger discography and were releasing on a regular basis the leaking of a few demo's would barely be news to them or us. Black markets are created when supplies are rationed.
