  1. “Have no idea and don't care. Hopefully, we'll be working 'Chinese' for a good bit. Of course there's the same idiots that have been around forever already demanding release dates.” Axl Rose (“When’s the next album?” - February 2009)

Would you honestly think if this was Axl's attitude early 09, but he'd be handing a studio album in a busy year of touring in 2010?

If it was anyone else I would say no but with Axl it doesn't seem too far fetched.

  2. I've said this before in another thread but I do wonder if Axl really wants an apology anymore. I could see how it is actually a benefit to continue a feud with Slash because it keeps the reunion pressure off his back to some extent. I imagine one of the biggest reasons he doesn't reunite is out of loyalty to his current band, as with the HOF it places them in an awkward predicament. If the label, media and fans got a whiff of a truce with Slash I expect the pressure to reform would increase ten fold.

  3. He will always be remembered as a great frontman. How he is remembered as a person would largely depend on what is revealed about him posthumously and what slant the media run with.

  4. I don't think it was such a big deal that Slash came over. The problem is Axl doesn't want slash to come over, he wants Slash to hold a press conference and tell the world that he was wrong about everything and that it was all his own fault for the split and that he lied about everything. Slash has a different point of view so therefor that will never happen. However Slash was trying to work out a lawsuit that was going on between them, the only 2 mistakes were, he was drunk and had Perla with him. He did write Axl a small note that said lets work this out or something like that. Also I know Slash would have never gone over there. Perla made him go.

Why would he throw his VR bandmates under the bus, to someone he hadn't talked to in almost a decade?

Do you think Perla drove him up there because she was tired of hearing about Slash complaining about Axl?

Perhaps at the point VR was falling apart they started looking at Axl and GnR through rose tinted glasses. Grass is always greener etc...maybe Scott at his worst suddenly made Axl seem less difficult.

  5. I think there was so much going on in that period and so many people with their fingers in the pie that even respected musicians like Brian May probably didn't have a clue what was really going on or what the final plan was. I very much doubt he was lying more repeating what he understood to be the case at the point he was involved.

  6. I think (and the evidence points to this being fairly obvious) he has periods of fads and mini obsessions across the board interspersed with protracted periods of inactivity and procrastination which would account for times when he has been very fit and the times he is not. The missing ingredient is consistency. A lot of conditions have this as a symptom, Bipolar, ADHD/ADD, ASD, PD. I'm fairly sure Axl has one of these conditions.

  7. I actually think you were right in the first place. The Slash section is rarely much busier than the remainder of the Side Projects, not that Slash isn't discussed a lot but it tends to be in the main D&N section in relation to Axl and GnR. That said if the majority want a Slash section it doesn't do any harm.

  8. I will be surprised if this gets released but then again Mick Wall's book did. Interesting title expecially the bit about moth extermination but the content preview doesn't suggest anything particularly new, Cobain feud, Slash and Liz Taylor, all stuff we have heard before.

  9. I think that the label are not interested in releasing another Axl Rose solo record when they can just hold out for the real deal some day in the future, even if it is only unreleased real GNR material.

Is it less painful writing it in rainbow? :-D

I have no idea whether the label is willing to put out a current GnR record but it might be better if they did. I suspect a very commercially successful 'solo' Axl would make him more likely to go for a one off reunion as he wouldn't have anything left to prove.

  10. I may have interpreted it the wrong way but I'm assuming by 'we know nothing' they actually meant 'we are not going to tell you anything'. I would have preferred them just to have said that. As management claiming they know nothing is just weird, not telling at least insinuates that something is going on.

  11. I think I would have preferred a more neutral, business like tone to the letter and I suspect the accompanying graphic might have made them laugh but that is just my opinion. Manets and NGOG were the ones who could be bothered to go that extra mile so good on them.

They may still get an official reply. I don't think we have given it long enough to completely write it off and we don't know for definite that the Facebook status was an outright response to the letter. I just hope the overwhelming negative response regardless of whether it was deserved hasn't pissed on their bonfire and cancelled out the chance of them getting a direct reply.

  12. Blunoze may have a point about the hardcore fan(atic) base versus the millions of casual fans who just about care enough to like the Facebook page. I don't think Axl has ever liked the type of fans who obsess enough to pick over his bones on internet forums, I think this is the reason he doesn't even bother with HTGTH. In real terms it's the casual fans, at least at this point in time, that represent the majority of his concert audience and therefore bring the money in. If all the GnR forums ceased to be tomorrow would it have any impact on him at all? I'm not sure it would.

  13. A muse is always feminine which is why it is referred to as she. I don't think Merck is referring to a person in that letter, it's just the way language works.

As far as Axl's muse goes I don't think we can second guess whether she eludes him or not as we officially know nothing!

  14. Has it been confirmed Vanessa is pregnant? Maybe that's the reason for what looks like some upcoming time off.

That would only mean that she and her boyfriend won't join them on tour. Im not so sure she has much of a managerial position like like beta and fernando have.

I can't see the multi million dollar tours being put on hold for one baby.

Under normal circumstances no but in GnR world I can see Axl refusing to travel without Beta who may want to stay close to her daughter.

  15. Not really surprised by the gist of the tweet but more to how they worded it. Like they are really wanting fans to stop supporting them.

Well, Beta has successfully isolated Axl from the label, managers, ex-bandmates, girlfriends...Why not the fans?

She's leading a cult with an audience of one right now.

She's got him so brainwashed that he doesn't know up from down or left from right.

Keeping him isolated/paranoid is vital to the con they are running. Entering level headed people into his life who don't want or need anything from him runs the risk of exposing team Brazil for the fraud and scam artists they really are.

But why would they not want the band to be successful, put out music, sell more tickets? As management they stand to gain from this both in credibility and financially.
