Guns is difficult to define with one song even the classic line up. Songs like November Rain and Estranged would define the GNR sound for a lot if people.

This inability to pigeon hole or define was what made them great IMO.

I agree with HV to a degree but Ron didn't have to answer that question in such a way and he has a history of making loaded statements, Bar Mitzvah for example.

I doubt he is referring to Del or TB, both have been around long before him. DJ would be plausible, the guy is clearly on the ball when it comes to self promotion but as someone else said the entourage is huge so it could be anyone. Maybe Axl has some new spiritual advisors we don't know about.

Not really. I've never heard of the guy or his band. So anything he says or does is completely irrelevant to me. To be an "accomplished musician," I would take that as meaning you've had some success and/or fame. I've never heard of him. Has my head been buring in the sand? Am I missing something?

So to be an "accomplished musician" the only criterion is that he has to have relevance to you specifically?

If you're considered accomplished, I'd say you've at least accomplished the task of having the average person to be aware you exist. Whoever made the comment (I forget his name and his band already) hasn't been able to do so yet.

Yes I think the reason he enjoyed Australia so much is because it suited his nocturnal body clock.

So reading between the lines the people of Brazil are giving him a hard time because he fell out with Axl and now he wants him back because he sells more tickets that way. Axl being Axl probably won't take his calls so he has resorted to calling him a love God or whatever in the press in the hope of winning his heart again. ;-)

I wonder how much they talk about this stuff? With Axl I mean, not just each other. Dizzy and Ashba are always mentioning how tight knit they are and like a family, do they include Axl in that or do they just mean the rest of the band? The varying statements they put out give the impression that the subject of future music is the elephant in the room.

I think it would be quite slushy a bit like a Mills and Boon novel. That interview she did years ago where she talked about how romantic Axl was and how she would never leave a man like that gave me that vibe. I honestly think she had a big crush, at least at one point anyway. Unfortunately Axl only seems to do tall models so she had to settle for next best thing, being Mom. It probably worked out in her favour in the end, if it was a romantic thing she probably would have been booted a long time ago.

Not hating on Beta here btw. I think someone rescuing you and your children from another country and giving you an amazing life would make them seem like an amazing man to anyone.

They probably had a vague idea but the 1980's was a different era. We know these days thanks to the internet and 24hr media exactly what the life of a celeb is like even the minor ones. Where did you realistically get that information back then? I know they lived in LA and will have seen people like MJ being mobbed at airports but who thinks they are ever going to get that big?

To be fair though I'm sure nothing prepares you for it even if it's something you want. A bit like becoming a parent, it's still a shock to the system.

Just out of interest how much do you think it costs to be Axl on say a monthly basis?

Obviously some expenses will be covered by the business so I mean actual personal expenses.

Maybe most things can be classed as business expenses so maybe he spends very little of his personal fortune.

I think it's interesting Axl wanted older musicians.

They are mostly younger than him though possibly with the exception of Tommy. He wouldn't want to tour with a load of twenty somethings, he's been there and done that.
