  1. You may very well be right^^^ astute observation

In my experience most musicians are usually quite intelligent. I remember reading a study that linked the ability to read music and play an instrument to improved abilities in other studies such as mathematics.

Lateral thought ability is an inherent trait in most highly creative people, but make no mistake, some are dumb as a bag of hammers. No names , the trick is surrounding urself with people who are smart/trustworthy ...

Well, there is intellectual ability and common sense and not everyone has both.

  2. To be fair if we only talked about things we definitely knew there wouldn't be much conversation. Such is the world of GnR fandom!

To answer to OP, he did quite a lot (for Axl) in the last year so I'm not expecting anything soon. I would love to see him do a press conference type thing alongside the whole band though. I think that is what's missing to date.

  3. I think Slash is enjoying life being less complicated. Myles doesn't have that x factor that Axl and Scott have but that is probably why he is easier to work with. All the best frontmen are not easy people to get along with and I think Slash struggles with that. I assume his main priority these days, or at least one of them, is to remain sober and in good mental shape for his family. Revisiting VR might jeopardise that even if it would be creatively better. I think he is a bit between a rock and a hard place as is anyone who tries to balance family life and a career.

  4. Maybe in true Axl style he has done a 360 degree turn on the whole control freak thing and just handed the reins to DJ. He was brought in at the time money troubles were rumoured. Perhaps GnR is another Ashba™ investment and he is now reaping the rewards.

If he did a 360 he'd be right back where he started from.

You are right I meant 180. My bad, it's very late here. Lol

  6. 2006 wins so bad. 2006 Axl is what 2002 Axl should have been. It's what we all need. If you look at '92 or '93 Axl and then at '06 Axl, you know it's right.

This totally. He looked so badass in 06. The RockAm Ring concerts are some of my favourite ever. I watch them a lot and they make me realise when Axl is on form you don't give a shit who else is in the band because you are only watching him.

  7. Depends probably on what stuff is revealed posthumously. Usually the way it goes (see MJ for example) is an out pouring of grief and celebration of achievements then slowly over the coming weeks and months the less pleasant stuff is salubriously revealed.

So like MJ and Whitney it depends what remaining skeletons are in the closet as to whether the good will ultimately outweigh the bad.

  8. How can you miss 2010 Axl when you can miss 2006 Axl?

    So true

fuck the hats, fuck the glasses, fuck the clean voice

Regardless of personal grievences there is no way Duff can be on that stage and not be blown away by how Axl sounds. He hasnt lost a step in this video. Must have been a reminder of just how good Axl can be.

Maybe it's just me but I always think Duff looks really uncomfortable in this video, like he doesn't really know where to stand or quite what to do with himself.
