Seems off to me too, but why single out Slash when a number of people would be involved in something like this? Duff, for example. Other STP members.
RTSlash and Duff were just tweeting about playing with STP (with no Scott Wieland) for the music cares show.
Both of Scott's former band's members playing together, and he can't make it work with either of them.
It's like the bizarro world or something.
Slash does shit like that on purpose. That's his whole gimmick...you think he's cool playing with everyone, the media loves him but all he does is rub salt on wounds.
It does come across this way sometimes but it could be argued that Axl does a similar thing with DJ. I think maybe this tit for tat thing started way back in the 80s when Axl shagged his girlfriend!

Wow your friend is very lucky. Nice work.
-
Probably not at this point but he might wish that things had worked out differently.
-
Would love to see them in a venue that size.

I don't know but imagine how it would have been if the internet had existed then. I think they would have imploded a lot quicker as it would have been harder to keep stuff under wraps. Can you imagine the twitter wars between all of them!

Three pages and I still don't know who Dane Cook is.

The Voice...
in 2013
At the risk of being controversial (and the following is pure supposition) I read something recently that reminded me about the discussions re Axl's very deep speaking voice back in the 80s vs todays higher sounding voice.
The article was about bulimia and how it affects the vocal chords basically making a persons voice sound deep (there are other things that can do this of course, thyroid issues for example) but it made me think of Axl because it also mentioned the eroding of tooth enamel as a side effect and we all remember the old teeth....
Anyway just one possible theory, I do feel a bit bad bringing it up because it is a horrid psychological disorder but I wondered what other people thought.
I know someone who did cocaine with Axl a few years ago, and if you look at what that drug did to Whitney Houston's voice...it's possible drug abuse could be doing the same thing to Axl.
That is quite possible. I wasn't meaning his current voice though. I remember there was a thread after he appeared on Kimmel wondering why his speaking voice in the 80s was so deep compared to now and that's what I thought of when I read the article. I don't doubt he is probably still partial to a bit of Splenda these days still.

Well I'm impressed that you have put a lot of thought and time into this. Very brave of you to post it here. Do you write fan fiction too?

I like the beenie as well but it isn't the logo that bothers me. It's the word "swag" - i'm too old for thatI have seen them on Ebay for around 6 Uk pounds with free or minimal shipping. I think shipping can taking up to a couple of weeks worldwide. I suspect it is exactly the same hat. I actually quite like it but wouldn't pay big bucks just for the addition of an Ashba logo. If you want a hat like Axl's buy one in every colour from Ebay at a fraction of a price (although bear in mind it's still sweatshop stuff!)
Although, it would be decent for snowboarding. #jailbait
Me too. I just feel a bit sorry for the teenagers who pay top whack because they want the swag bit. I guess this is because I am old now!
*remembers buying overpriced crap for logos as teenager*
Maybe we should have a pinned thread for non logo swag items for those who want to look like cut price DJ ;-)

Here's US seller with them on Ebay. Just one of many generic beanie hats dropshipped from China.
He charges $35 for that?
15 on Ebay
10 for shipping
$25 versus the $35 + shipping for the same hat with a logo? LOL
I have seen them for even less than the link I posted and with free worldwide shipping so shop around on Ebay also.

He recently got a designer on board so the clothing might be designed and made in the US but the hats I doubt are (based on the evidence I have seen).

I can't comment on the quality but you have a point about capitalism. People buy shit that 1) they don't really need or 2) they can get much cheaper without the logo/branding. However, most chinese knock-offs I've seen (jeans, purses, Air Jordans etc...) might look similar but the quality usually is really lacking.I don't know about the clothing but I remember a thread where someone pointed out that the hats (the ones Axl wears) could be bought on Ebay for about 5.99 straight from China (minus the ashbaswag logo obviously). His mark up is clearly huge at least on some of the items. I get that he is in it to make money but I'm not a fan of cheap labour or the fact it is mostly worn by teenage girls who don't realise they can get it cheaper (or maybe don't care). Capitalism in action. Get in the ring motherfucker!
I don't think the Ebay hats are knock offs of ashbaswag though, he's not quite Tommy Hilfiger yet. I think he buys in bulk from China then adds his own label to them (as do a lot of clothing companies). It's just that the mark up on these hats are huge.

DjASHBA I can not tell you how it makes me feel to look out into the crowd and see so much @ASHBAswag Thank you guys so much!!! Much love~DjA
I think rich is the word he is looking for.

Just thought of an interesting example of name ownership. There is a British girl band called The Sugababes who were fairly big in the last decade or so. One by one over about 10 years all the original members left and were replaced then eventually the original three members all got together and called themselves some variation on the original name despite the other band still going. I think there was a bit of a hoo hah made about it because I think the name of the band was always owned by the management or label hence why they kept just replacing members.
Not entirely relevant I know but it just popped into my head and I thought I would share.

He might be but objectively speaking it's probably just a great photo of him (balancing out some of the less flattering ones) he has a genuine broad smile in this photo which flatters the neckline. He may be a few pounds lighter though, people do fluctuate.

I liked it. Sort of an homage to BH. Had he not messed up the lyrics to NR, and his voice was as good as it was 2 nights later, it would be a non-issue.
Was that raincoat actually Axl's or did he just half inch it off someone out of desperation? I know his dress sense is considered out there sometimes but I can't see him actually going into a store and buying it.Time to bring out the yellow raincoat
I'd never thought of it like that.

The only time I get the impression they had the brothers thing going on was during some of their early gigs when they were working out the AFD songs live and pushing to get to the top of the Billing at clubs and also the trip to Seattle that nearly killed them off. Other than that it became a bit every man for himself.

Aw. Come on, This one is actually pretty good.
Well I don't anything that reminds me of 80's rock or old Guns. I want hm... Idk, surprise me!
This. Surprise us. I don't mind at this point what the next release is. I'll buy it and listen.
Have we been any more bored with the band?
