  1. Fernando - you admitted to sharing unreleased Guns N' Roses tracks with your friends during this interview in 2001:

The CD will probably have 16 or 17 songs, and all the songs are very strong. I'm not saying this because I work for him or because I'm his best friend. My friends, for example, when they listen to any of the songs they say it's very beatiful and very good.Catcher in the Rye, This I love, That's Called The Blues, Chinese Democracy, they are all beautiful.

How much did this damage your relationship with Axl?

  2. I think you're straying further away from the point.

Axl chooses TB because he KNOWS they won't go the route of a reunion. It would do them no good as the evil one would most likely NOT reunite with them running the show. Beta hates the "evil one" with a passion. They echo Axl's biggest sentiment regarding GNR's past. Plus, any potential manager would be very hesitant in taking on this incarnation of "gnr." If you cannot grasp that they have much more leeway than any other potential manager, there's nothing else to discuss on it. To deny that is to deny the most obvious about their current relationship.

Axl lives in a bubble, insulated from truth. He enjoys that, because hearing the truth means the past 20 years of his life will be revealed as a giant waste. Team Brazil receives monetary support for keeping the bubble going.

There's nothing healthy or respectable about that arrangement at all.

  3. You really think there's a chance he is going to fire Beta's son? Over some pretty typical questions?

This is the same guy most likely behind the leaks.

Fernando has no reason to do that. I think one only needs to look at Axl's track record with people who went against him in some way (as he sees it)

Marc was one of his best friends. Managers came and went. He can fire Fernando and still be his fake big brother.

Look at the post above yours.

What do you mean he has no reason to do that?

Merck wasn't the son of his closest relationship figure. Never mix family/friends with business. Axl's already too late for that lesson and it's rather naive to think that TB has no power at all.

If Merck had leaked the album or booked a bowling alley gig he would have been shown the door.

Your conspiracy theory about Fernando leaking shit is unlikely at best imo.

You don't trust Fernando's own words?

From a 2001 interview with Fernando:

He sent MP3's of the tracks to people online, thinking the album would be released in 2001. Oops.

  4. It might lead to nothing given past experience but if we can't be prepared to play nice ourselves then the concept of hateful, undeserving fans will remain as a reason to explain why we are kept in the dark. Remove that reason then the legitimate complaints the fan base have hold more weight and perhaps criticism can be viewed with more justification.

You are buying into some weird logic that the fans are the problem. Fans react to the actions of the band. The band makes no action, the fans either get mad or leave.

If I paid a hooker $100.00, spent a lot of time thinking about her, and she called me and said "maybe I'll come and sex you some day", would I be justified spending my time and money on her? Or do I move onto another hooker who doesn't leave me unsatisfied?

  5. Being an enabler isn't a valid excuse. Especially when his main intent over the years is to t.roll certain fan forums Axl considers to be an enemy.

Doing and keeping your job is not a valid reason? only an idiot will jeopardize the kind of relationship Fernando developed with Axl. Keeping your boss happy is only logical if you know your boss can be easily angered by talking too much.

Fernando leaked the entire album online in 2001, and that led to the band being held hostage by hoarders. If he didn't get kicked out of the house for that, and was in fact promoted to the band's MANAGER years later, that just shows you how illogical Axl Rose is when making decisions. Fernando could burn Axl's house down and Axl would still love him.

  6. I don't personally know why Fernando joined the thread or what he hoped to gain from it but I do know that if we don't show a willingness to communicate civilly (and yes it goes both ways) then we have zero chance of being informed when there is something to say.

Normal bands call these "press releases". You know, things bands put out when they have something to say.

People on this forum who have been around since 2001 know that any speculation offered by the band or its managers usually leads to absolutely nothing.

The band's hand was forced by leakers to get the album released, and now they have no material of value worth releasing as a second album. So we are stuck in an endless cycle of "when will Axl decide to tour the same Greatest Hits show again?", which fans and band members alike are not at all enthusiastic about.

Fans and band members are abandoning the endless mess that is NewGNR. As they should.

  7. Why the hell are you banning Magisme?

No one was banned. Mags was given a warning point and a one days suspension for telling Fernando he can fuck off and calling him a leach. That goes beyond expressing frustration and criticisms and lands squarely in inappropriate language and abusive behaviour, both of which violate forum rules.

Here is the conflict of interest - the band is currently managed by people who Axl considers "family" for whatever reason. How do you separate criticism of the band and criticism of the band's management when they are the same entity?

    You can't.

Fernando knows this and hides behind it. It's the whole reason why he went crying to Axl in 2008 when people on this forum were flaming him - Axl came on MyGNR and got a bunch of posters banned before sticking around to chat.

Was Merck family? you think a different manager will have any say without Axl's approval? the manager, any manager that manages new Guns will always be Axl's employee. Think about the way an employee acts around his boss and what they already know their boss won't like. Their job is to keep their boss happy. It's Axl who ultimately calls all the shots. There is no point blaming TB. If Axl doesn't want to do something or share information, they can't really do anything. Family or not.

Merck was fired for giving the vague "any Tuesday" comment with regards to the album's release, because Axl said he didn't want the band's manager giving any false hope and imposing deadlines.

Meanwhile, Fernando has an entire thread instilling false hope while the band is currently lacking 2 lead guitarists. He should probably fill those vacancies before he spends his time on here lying to the fans.

  9. The fact that mods feel the need to spend all their time patrolling this thread is absolutely fascinating. You're basically saying "here's a guy everyone hates - please be nice to him".

Jarmo sold out his board's userbase to garner favor with the band. I hope this isn't the start of MyGNR doing the same thing.

  10. Yeah, but he's not answering the questions. So feel free to delete the posts if they've been asked a million times already, but if he's not gonna answer them then what is he doing here. Like I said in my "fabled" post, I said something along the lines of "I'm sure you mean well".

But then when he responses with "Snap bro, I got you". I mean, what the hell is he doing here in this case?

Look, Fernando can speak for himself, but as an admin here it's my job to make sure the thread doesn't get bogged down by people asking the same questions or making similar points. If he didn't address the five other people who made the same points as you did, why do you think you're post is going to be the one that gets addressed?

Let's move on. Still have an issue with this then please send me a PM.

Fernando is literally not answering any questions - why is this thread even open?

  11. So let me get this straight - this band is in such sad shape that whatever diehards are left have become desperate to beg Fernando, who has been banned here for being a tr0ll multiple times and never divulges anything, for information? And the mods are bending over like Jarmo does to make him happy?

    Sad state of affairs.

  12. I haven't seen any pro shots of SJ, there has been so many tours, shows recorded that I wish there was a way to make it available.

Explain why you can't make live shows available. You just admitted they are all recorded.

How about an official "Live Era 2000-2014" album that includes tracks from multiple shows? That would be fantastic.

  13. The funny thing is that the hoarders have held onto whatever they have for so long that no one cares about NewGNR anymore, and the demos/bootlegs are fairly worthless outside of the diehard communities like this one.

I know people who have audience recordings of shows that aren't in circulation, but refuse to make them public for whatever reason. I don't get it. Release what you have and make other people happy if you can.

  14. Very difficult question.

    I'd have to say

HOB 2001 (the first one, I'D LOVE to have bootlegs from the other shows because they must have been something magical , too bad there isn't anything at all)

Amazing we don't have anything from the Dec '01 shows apart from a few photos, do we even know if hoarders have anything?

I remember reading that one of the late-2001 Vegas shows had technical problems and Axl was pissed the whole night, so that's probably not a good performance

  15. Thought this was interesting - all 3 "Decline of Western Civilization" documentaries were just released on Blu Ray. I'm reading a review of the box set, and there's this note about the director's commentary for "Part II: The Metal Years":

    http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/68048/decline-of-western-civilization-collection-the/

Extras for The Decline Of Western Civilization Part II start off with an audio commentary from director Penelope Spheeris and Nadir D'Priest (of London). Like Spheeris' track on the first disc, it's a scene specific talk so she talks about things as they play out in front of us, including the mooning in the lineup featured in the early part of the movie. She talks about interviewing the different people that appear on camera, dealing with Gene Simmons when he wanted to ‘do something classy,' who was and wasn't drinking on camera, why Poison's interview really is funny, how Lemmy was the coolest guy in the movie and of course the fashions and trends that started in this period that have come back again. She notes how sex keeps coming up again and again during the interviews, when drugs are and aren't emphasized in the film, what was shot on a soundstage and what wasn't, trying (and failing) to get Guns ‘N Roses, and of course, the infamous scenes with Ozzy (who she describes as ‘clean and on top of things' and yes, the truth about the pouring of the orange juice) and Holmes (she talks about how much of the vodka was and wasn't real, how wasted he really was, and her thoughts on this infamous scene in general). Again, this is a solid track and quite an informative listen.

I wonder why they turned it down

  16. If he had done Rock am Ring 2010, then that would be an awesome performance to see on video, I saw him live in 2010 and the show was pretty good, I really don't get why the hell they had to release that vegas show on the A4D DVD, they could have easily released a show from 2010, even now they can release......but well I wont indulge in that topic otherwise it will make my blood boil

The idea is if you know a show is being released on DVD/Blu Ray, you want to have more cameras than normal on-hand, and also you want to record the show audio as a multi-track so that you can go back and edit mistakes. This is why Live Era only contains a few shows - GNR rarely records multi-track audio. The 2010 tour saw every show outside of the festivals recorded in HD with a 5-camera setup and probably only soundboard audio. The Vegas show had a zillion cameras, but by then Axl's voice was gone and it was a lost cause.
