  1. Axl quote on the second album from 1999 for perspective:

    http://htgth.com/articles/showarticle.php?articleid=28

    Quote

Loder: How's your guitar playing coming along now?

Rose: It's all right. I just wanted to be good enough to be able to contribute what was needed to this main album. It took working on the majority of these things and at least the couple albums' [worth] of material to figure out what should be on the first official Guns album. I wouldn't say it's like, you know, that we recorded a double album, or that we have all of our scraps to be the second one. There is a distinct difference in sound. The second leans probably a little more to aggressive electronica with full guitars, where the first one is definitely more guitar-based.

The guitars obviously hadn't been added to P.R.L. yet, but yeah this is way more "aggressive electronica" than anything on the first album

After that, I got a barrage of guitar songs that I was supposed to put words to,

Key phrase here is "that I was supposed to put words to"

This kind of affirms that he never wrote lyrics for the rest of the Chinese Democracy instrumentals (besides Soul Monster, maybe Berlin, and maybe The General depending on whatever demo that was)

If Axl can listen to Slash's demos and say "I only like a few of these" in 1994, I guarantee he trashed whatever Buckethead demos were still laying around after Buckethead quit in 2004

It's fascinating that we're putting all these pieces together finally as to what really happened

  3. Made more changes!

Removed All I Ever Wanted and Dragon since it looks like they're fake

Separated PRL and Thyme into separate entries

Re-added Tonto since we still don't know if it's the same song as The General

Re-added the first unknown Tommy Stinson demo since it's definitely not the same song as Going Down

If you don't include Knockin' on Heaven's Door...we're still at 48!

  4. Axl admitted to using heroin and not getting addicted, which speaks more to his bipolar disorder than anything

I think it's more likely that he took heroin, had a manic episode because of the heroin, got hospitalized for the manic episode, and that's the only reason why he kicked it so quick

Axl spins things in ways that make himself feel better about reality - he admitted to being diagnosed bipolar with a question test (that's standard - there's no blood test for bipolar disorder) and then years later tried to backtrack on it

  5. UPDATE

    Found this blurb:

"Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose wandered into the Crazy Horse Too in Las Vegas Wednesday morning (July 16) and treated the nearly empty strip club to a preview of tracks from his band's long-delayed Chinese Democracy album." (MTV, 07/17/03)

The strip club DJ totally mailed a copy of that CD to Mike Piazza.

The Eddie Trunk broadcast with "IRS", from what I can put together, was on August 30, 2003

Thanks for your comment. Not to burst your bubble though, but Rolling Stone is a legitimate news organisation and unlike content mills (GNRCentral, Alternative Nation, Blabbermouth), will likely not report on anonymous and unverifiable Reddit accounts claiming to be someone of importance.

Rolling Stone let Axl do an "interview" where Axl was asked softball questions by Del James with no follow-up questions

They lost all credibility years ago

You are right on this, even my friends who are loosely gnr fans don’t give a damn about these latest leaks.

I don’t even think they were covered by any major music outlets.

And those saying "Axl still has power over the media which is why you aren't hearing about the leaks in the press" are delusional

GNR means nothing in 2019 - it's an empty brand fueled by nostalgia and devoid of purpose

100% right. I’ve always been of the group of people that believe that there is always more than what meets the eye with leaks. I definitely believe that those around Axl leak material to kind of force Axl to release material officially.

Only this time, outside of a few hundred people, no one gives a shit about any of it

Fernando: Uh oh Axl, Atlas Shrugged just leaked online - we better re-record it with Slash and release it ASAP!

    Axl: MY PRECIOUS

  9. Russ - is this Fernando's actual MyGNR account?

    http://www.mygnrforum.com/profile/66068-flebeis/

The fact that the MyGNR account was registered on May 17, 2018 and the Reddit account was registered on December 15, 2018 makes me think someone saw Fernando had an official MyGNR account under the name "flebeis" and decided to start impersonating him with that name on reddit

And didn't Fernando have a previous MyGNR account before that when he did the Q&A a few years ago? Did he forget the login for it and had to re-register?

What is PRL? Ive seen it mentioned a few times. The follow up title to CD? What does it stand for?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_People's_Republic

    Quote

The Polish People's Republic (Polish: Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa, PRL) was a country in Central Europe that existed from 1947 to 1989, and the predecessor of the modern democratic Republic of Poland.

    Quote

The Polish People's Republic was a one-party state characterized by constant internal struggles for democracy and better living conditions.

I sense a theme here with the album titles

I speculated in another thread that Axl might have renamed Oklahoma to "Berlin" because he wanted that to be the title of the third album

Between "Chinese Democracy", "PRL", "Madagascar" and "Berlin" - Axl was really into the fall of Communism

  11. Had a thought earlier - "Catcher in the Rye" on the locker set is the only song that fades out, and it's also one of the songs that appeared "finished" since they didn't touch it at all between March 2000 and late 2001

Does that mean "Catcher in the Rye" was intended to be the last track on either Chinese Democracy or PRL?

If the double-album actually happened, I could see Catcher closing out the first disc and Prostitute closing out the second (or vice versa)

No-one really knows where TIL came into the picture - Axl says he was convinced by everyone else to put it on the record and wasn't part of the sessions so maybe it didn't resuface until much much later. The album credits also only point to Eric Caidieux and Caram Costano getting creddit for Sub Drums  and editing (all tracks credit)- no-one is actually credited clearly as recording it.

Also after these rough mixes RTB came on the scene and re-recorded a lot of the album (theres his new drums work on those later discs). So very little of this instrumentation possibly features on the end album - even the guitar work was re-amped at one stage (if was kept and not re-recorded completly prior to that). Obviously BH went back over and recorded parts onto all these songs, that were later altered by re-amping and then further takes by Bumble. Also Fortus plays guitar on CD, Better (rather more obviously), Street of Dreams, TWAT and Prostitute so there's a chance that these were all completly re-recorded or at least altered quite significantly post his arrival in 2002.

Roy Thomas Baker was with GNR as producer between April 2000 and February 2002

The locker CD's were dated between March 2000 and November 2001

The locker CD's have basically everything Baker worked on (or everything he carried over from before he joined - the mixes dated March 2000 we can assume he didn't alter at all since he wasn't there yet in March).
