I have to admit that it's been a while since I watched those performances and for some reason I remembered that Highway To Hell was not as good the second time (maybe it was the comments on here).

But I just watched a video of it from the show in Minneapolis and it was indeed great, so I'm taking back what I wrote in the previous post.

Yeah - maybe I should check it out - I didn't even realize they did it together until a few days ago.

Bruce is my number one also, and I cannot put into words how desperately I want to hear it that way...... I just can't. Grateful that we now have the Mark Twain Prize performance with Gary Clark Jr. to cleanse my palate at least.

(Good luck with the Verified Fan lottery this week, and may the odds be ever in your favor)

You as well - I have tickets to all three Sweden shows and am very grateful. There was no verified fan and they were reasonably priced (not sure if you saw what's been leaking price-wise, but it is noooot pretty).

I don't know how roadies would know the difference.  I think it was pretty obvious from the Tottenham show that it is "fucked."  The question that likely very few people (Axl, his doctors, maybe band members/management) have the answer to is why.  Is it an illness, a vocal chord injury, nodules or irreparable damage?

Yup - and really nothing we can do besides wait and see.

I don't really get why people keep saying there's nothing he can do about it. I guess if you think Axl is actually the professional some seem to think he is and is actively doing vocal exercises and seeing a vocal coach, then we could say that. I really don't think that's the case though. People keep saying it's too late for that now. If it is, who's fault is that?

From what I understand it hurts him to sing that way. And I honestly don't know if it's because he didn't take good care of his voice or if it's because it's just an unnatural way to sing with rasp.

The shows in Europe have had scathing reviews of his vocals.

We've been bitching about it on the forums for years, but the mainstream media has mostly only had positive things to say about the tour since they reunited.

Now, for the first time, it's not just bitter losers on an internet forum complaining about his voice.  It's actual "journalists."

I think that shit gets in his head.

He's been well aware of the fans criticism of it for a while. He mentioned as much in the China Exchange interview. I agree it might get in his head (or it used to), but I think he's been aware of this one and knows there's nothing he can do about it.

I think he’s answered your penultimate question (at the China Exchange interview). If he published something like this now, he would basically either have to lie / suppress his opinions or risk that *someone* will get pissed off. They have buried the hatchet, why would he try to ruin Slash’s public image now. It makes no sense, which is why I don’t expect anything like that to be published in the nearest years. Maybe when he’s like 75, when nobody gives a damn anymore, and after a bit of polishing, then maybe. Otherwise it would end up like Matt’s book, the one officially released as opposed to the leak, i.e. everything self-censored.
Would I like to read Axl’s autobiography? Fuck yeah, why even ask.

I sadly think you're right - I was hoping he could maybe find a way around it or address it in such a way that implies it's been resolved. I'm dying to read it though. Less because of the original band fallout and more for the CD era stories - it's a shame that so much will never be revealed. I tend to find too that while he remains silent on a lot, it casts him in a worse light than necessary. Then when he does speak out it adds a lot of clarity and he seems far more sensible. Just a shame if he never puts anything out - it's in my top three desired books to read.

  7. What happened between December '10 and October '11?

What happened between December '02 and May '06?

What the hell was going on in GNR world in November '08?

How pissed was the record company at Axl?

What exactly happened on December 6th, 2002 - the night of the Philly riot. I know he explained it and I believe him, but I still want to know more (I was there).

When will Axl write his autobiography and answer all of these questions?

What would have happened if Axl went solo with that band instead of using the name? How would things be different?

I get all this. I’d separate 09/10 and 11/12/13/14 as almost two separate eras even. There was a long gap anyways and the quality definitely took a dip

Yup - I would love to know just what exactly happened between December '10 and October '11.
