I think @Voodoochild's theory about how these leaked is the most plausible: not ripped from vinyl, but probably recorded from the soundboard of the studio Axl and Slash went to listen to the mixes back in June.
i would agree, but it just seems too traceable with how the modern day recording session goes. (tinfoil conspiracy time, same thing but they leaked it on purpose once they knew they had to delay. they knew the hardcores would be somewhat satisfied.)

i know we give him shit, but these sound like incredibly personal lyrics to axl compared to HS/Perhaps/Absurd and most of CD. less veiled than his usual style. almost that dose of reality that came with AFDs lyrics.

IM ADDICTED TO THESE SONGS. TWO LISTENS IN??
-
ok, first listen of the general ending now. that was so so much better than Hard Skool, Absurd and most of CD.

Nobody should EVER dm ppl desperate to hear new music. They should wait!
-
a bit pessimistic, but im 99 pct sure i heard them jamming "perhaps" in ottawa waay back in 2017. no axl and couldnt hear the keys, but it was a full song i remember saying sounded like sweet home alabama if sabbath wrote it.
perhaps im wrong though (hey hey)
-
i can't think of any other popular singers with natural bass voices. its as unique to axl as his high voice imo.
-
i think scotts just breathing and they didn't edit it out, and axl is just being dramatic as he does.
-
at this point, i would rather see a one-off show like the Rock Hall. let the current lineup do their thing now that music is actually rolling out. wouldn't want izzy becoming disinterested and leaving midway through a tour.

Hard Skool has a very dry mix compared to Perhaps and Absurd, it really only has layers and "CD" sounding elements in the bridge. Probably more compressed to glue the mix together a bit more.
EDIT: I have to say, they did a great job giving old songs the same feel and continuity, while sounding modern!

I think Shacklers Revenge is the worst song on CD

in 2016 it was nearly a sellout too. these are awful tickets sales.. i've been going to concerts in toronto my whole life and i've never seen such poor sales.

THIS!!!..I dont need them to reconstruct the wheel, I dont need multi track overdubs and layers ...I just want a stripped down GNR Lies kinda vibe...just all go into a room, jam and see what comes to fruition, dont overthink it and do it for the reasons you all got into music in the first place, passion, inspiration, wanting to create....Not everything need to be complicated.
judging by absurd and hard schools vocal mix sounding the same as chinese... thats not gonna happen. its gonna be grandiose and big, with autotune and delay all over the vocals to give it the epic and polished sound axl seems to dig. the guitars seemed less "layered" mix-wise on absurd/HS tho, so they would likely have the same heavy presence.

Nuno hasn't had a hit in so long that he's trying to gaslight people into thinking playing for a pop acts is something only the elite guitar players can do.

There might be some AI assistance behind the scenes. Not enough to make Axl sound like UYI era Axl, but enough to make his voice more consistent.
no. he refuses to use auto tune live despite using it on CD, so theres not a chance hes "enhancing" his voice with anything more than delay (at times).

we can't be too defensive of our boy here lol, justins an incredible singer in a band that isnt financially successful like guns.. this doesnt equate to his opinion being lessened because its actually constructive criticism of rock n roll, which is good (gets people talking). content creation is more of an avenue akin to old school rock journalism than anything else nowadays, can't shit on the guy for using his knowledge and producing videos instead of working a 9-5. music is a subjective medium that we interpret and enjoy.. can't get mad for him doing it and making some $$$ off of it.
y'know.. guns could use somebody like this actually.
