Because AFD, Lies, UYI 1&2, CD are the only albums I (still) listen to from beginning to end. I like many other bands/singers, but never listen to full albums, only GNR albums. It's the only band I've ever considered myself a real fan of.

I visit this forum every day because none of my friends are GNR fans, no one knows CD and no one cares. When I say I'm a GNR-fan, they give me a puzzled look So I guess in some ways, this is a bit like AA for me.

I enjoy reading people's opinions on music I can't discuss in real life. And I'm very curious to see where GNR goes from here.

1991. Before that, I only knew PC and Patience. Bought UYI2 for my cousin's birthday, and decided to listen to it first. Heard Civil War and was hooked. I became pretty obsessed with the band, but after 1992 (and a cancelled concert), my interest faded. After that, the only things I heard about GNR were the band falling apart. Then somewhere in the beginning of the millennium seeing pictures of Axl, hearing about Chinese Democracy, and I just felt a bit sad about what had happened to Axl.

Only last summer I rediscovered GNR (on YouTube), after reading Slash had performed at a dancefestival here. (Must admit at first I was a bit shocked to see Axl again, as in my mind he's still the God he was in the early nineties )

It amazes me there are so many people here who became a fan in 'the dark ages'.

I can't even find group photos (with or without Axl), except for the official black and white one and some on stage photos. I think that's a shame, I mean, this line-up has been the same since 2009...

Voted all the time, but to be fair, I only re-discovered GNR last summer. Hadn't been listening (or hardly listened) for twenty years. So, to me, CD is still quite new, and I listen to it often. As is TSI, only knew a couple of tracks from way back.

Yes, I miss those rants! Rock4Eva: I remember going to other rock concerts in the early nineties and always finding it very strange the frontman/singer didn't rant So, no, none of the bands I saw back then did it.

I had tapes of various bootlegs back then and I enjoy watching those same rants on YouTube now.
