  1. I've been defriended two times and I hate it. It take it very personally, although I know I shouldn't. :(

I'm sure it's not personal...many times people just delete their accounts and it could seem as if they de-friended you.....other times, people just delete anyone but family members or very close friends, etc....

I know, but I can't help it. I even joke about it now: Okay, I'll be your FB-friend, but you can NEVER EVER defriend me

  2. Always think before you post shit on Facebook. It's that simple. I've had a bit of a personal disagreement with a company that is in turn a customer of the company where I work. I've been furious throughout that situation a number of times. It's tempting to vent on Facebook about it. But I strongly doubt that my boss would like it if I posted things on facebook about how much I hate one of our customers. It's things like that you always need to keep in mind.

I agree. I like FB, but I never post anything work-related or badmouth anyone on FB. Some people really need to think before they post something. A friend of mine fired an employee who called in sick and posted pictures of a drunken party the night before.

  3. I have to admit that I never liked Slash's NR solos live. GTFO re: Estranged, though.

Really ? I think NR is somewhat overrated, but the solo is my absolute favorite part, still gives me goosebumps, but only Slash's solo, not so much BBF. I like BBF better in Estranged than in NR. Mind you, I'm not saying I like BBF better than Slash. (You always have to be careful here about what you're saying.) I think Slash is irreplacable in NR, in Estranged I don't miss him that much.

  4. God, fuckin' hell, heads up, the yanks have got the bit between their teeth again  This is how it starts 'Y'know Chuck, when it's all said and done he's like that Saddam Insane, isn't he?'

I meant his mental reasoning is similar to both those leaders...Saddam invaded Kuwait for territorial gain and Milosevic did it for ethnic reasons....Putin is proudly and openly doing it for both....it's outrageous.

I am. Don't get it either. Russia invades Ukraine and now puts out an ultimatum: if the Ukranian troops don't retreat (from their own country ?) in less than ten hours, there'll be a military attack.

    Can anyone explain that ?

I just can't comprehend how the rest of the world isn't going absolutely crazy over this. If the U.S. were to invade Canada and give their military the same ultimatum, the rest of the world would have a meltdown.

Well, apparently Russia is now denying that it gave the ultimatum. In Europe, they're calling this the worst European crisis this century or since the fall of the Berlin Wall.

  5. The more I think about this situation, the more troublesome it is. Putin's real reason for the invasion is territrial gain (alla Sadaam Husein)...and his official reason is almost as bad "To protect Russian speaking people"....same reason Milosovich had for what he did years ago.

So (philosophically) we have a combination of two of the most infamous leaders of the past twenty years...leading a country with the largest nuclear arsenal in the world....and he just invaded a sovereign country.

    Anyone else troubled by this?

  6. I've always loved Down on the Farm, his accent too. I'm curious, does it sound accurate to British listeners ? I just did a search on it and there was a poll here in 2003:

Poll: How do you rate Axl's vocals on "Down on the Farm"
How do you rate Axl's vocals on "Down on the Farm"
    1. they're cool, I like 'em
    2. aweful, he should have never attempted the accent

Unfortunately, I can't vote or see the results :shrugs:

  7. My email got a response:

Hi, I am the producer scheduling the Guns 3D film. Unfortunately our distributor was told we could show the film in Dublin without a rating certificate by the government....then they advised that they now needed it and we were told after the date was given to Night train. Now we don't have the time to get a certificate for Dublin and too be honest not possible to get for just one cinema showing as certificate for Ireland costs 1000s of pounds.

I apologise for your not being able to see the film in Dublin but we are going to announce some ways soon that you will be able to see the concert....and it will be available soon as a blu Ray.

Okay, great, an answer... I so hope someone gets to see this in cinema and I do hope I'll be able to buy the dvd one day. Until it actually happens, we'll have to wait and see, I guess.

  8. For me it was one of those statements - "this is what he was working on, this is what he fought for".

The extra guitars (By Bumble? Who does that bend at the start?) I don't like and I feel like the vocal performance is inconsistent.

(Or maybe the performance is fine, I just don't understand the choices).

The lyrics are strange in places and downright cryptic. This is one of those songs I'd like to hear an explanation about.

    1. Who's "you"
    2. "Love that you fed by perversion and pain" - how do you feed love with those things? What does that look like?
    3. "Forgive what you have / for what you might lose" - interesting and unique phrasing, but how does it work? Forgive what you have or lose more?
    4. "If not for the ones / That you could not save" - who are the ones 'you' couldn't save? If not for? Why would she/he have turned to them?
    5. "turned to the hearts of the ones that you would not save" - WOULD not save, why wouldn't the person?
    6. "Reasons they'e taught us" - what reasons? Why do they give way?

So, I love the song, but there's so much I don't understand.

Also the outro and all the underlying piano and effects is just amazing. There is a ton going on there with that song.

I totally agree with you. I would love to hear it explained as well.

When I heard it the first time, I didn't like it so much, but it grew on me. Therefore, I agree with Jarrick too, it's not a song that the casual listener would immediately love, imo.

  9. I hope Slash tries to go, they show him on the carpet, and then they show him getting turned away at the door. He's got absolutely no businesses there and to try to take away from Axl's award would be fucked up, even for him. I suppose it wouldn't be too far fetched for him to try as he tried to ruin one of the comeback gigs though :shrugs:

Anyways congrats Axl, a well deserved award! Thanks for Chinese, release the rest of the CD era tracks to get these haters off your back.

Kid, why should Slash stay home from a show he has regularly attended and maybe even performed at? Were you even born when Slash was in Gn'R?
He should stay home because he's got no business there to take away from Axl's award.

And yes, I was alive when Slash was in the band, thanks for asking.

Why would Slash attending mean, he is there ''to take away from Axl's award'' - as if Slash is some sort of evil baby snatcher who will swoop down and steal the goblet from Axl's hands when Axl is delivering a speech! Presumably, if Slash attends, Slash will be there for the exact same reasons he was invited at the prior events: because he has been invited by the event organisers; because the event is sponsored by epiphone, a guitar company; because Slash is a leading personality of the rock fraternity.

This. Actually, I hope Slash and Axl will both be there, with no drama. In fact, if Slash has been there every year, and doesn't attend now, it might seem like he's boycotting it because of Axl receiving an award.

On topic again: Great for Axl!

  10. Without knowing all people involved and just from what I've seen while following the band GnR...........I'd say that it would appear that Beta and her family were a great thing for Axl's personal life. They have apparently given him the "family" that he has always wanted. But from a fan of Axl Rose the musician and the band GnR, Team Brazil is the worst thing that has ever happened to us.

    Spot on.

I couldn't care less if Team Brazil consisted of 50 people and Axl gave them his entire fortune. I couldn't care less if Axl spent his money on cocaine and hookers and he liked to dress up as a clown and worshipped sea turtles. What he does in his personal life is his business.

I just wish that the best rock singer of my generation had put out more than one album over the past 20 years.

    This.

I know a lot of people will read what I'm about to type and say "TB ownz the MYgnRz!!111!!!/!!!" but I feel the same way overall. Whatever TB does and doesn't do for GN'R isn't really any of my business. If anything, I think they might just give Axl another outlet for placing blame for lack of output.

    Exactly Russ.

When you look at the comments that Beta, Ferdnando and Del have made concerning "fans" over the past couple of years, it paints a pretty good picture of what life is like inside Camp Axl. Knowing what we know about his personality (picture him running over CDs in his car and sending them back to the label) I suspect to be a member of Camp Axl that you have to be willing to kiss a lot of ass and really feed into the "world is out to get him" mindset.

I picture them all sitting around watching Dexter and Beta/Fernando/Del/Jarmo all watching the show but also keeping an eye on Axl. And when Axl laughs - they break out laughing. When Axl says "Oh, that's whack" as Dexter stabs somebody, you'll then hear Fernando's voice squeak up "Ya, man, that was whack."

    then:

Axl: "shall we watch another episode?"

Camp Axl: "do you want to watch another episode?"

Axl: "Yes, it's only midnight. Let's watch one more."

Camp Axl: "awesome, then let's watch one more. We were all hoping to watch one more."

    Axl: "I'm thirsty, anybody else?"

Camp Axl: "Oh, what an amazing idea. We are all thirsty too. Let us go make you your favorite drink. If that junkie Slash was here he would have drank everything in the fridge just to spite you. Thank God he isn't here screwing up your life anymore. Man Axl, what a great idea it was to have something to drink right now. You the man!!!"

    24/7 of that.

That sounds like a nightmare! Who said something about everyone being jealous of Del, Jarmo etc ? Not me, if that's the average night at casa Rose.

    off topic groghanism

True, okay, back to Axl's being in great shape

  11. I love them! Have to admit I only have a Greatest Hits sort of cd...

My parents were/are fans too. My dad was in some kind of a youth club and they occasionally organized concerts. They booked the Kinks in a really small venue, before they were famous. I believe by the time the concert actually took place, they had broken through though, and the concertgoers went crazy.
