  1. Nothing like people jumping to conclusions. Maybe wait to hear more before we assume we know exactly who is blocking what?

Either way, what sort of band with what sort of management lets something like this get so far along without making sure they have the all clear?

This. Weren't we told in December (I think) that everything was cleared ? Yet here we are four months later...

  2. And that will be their excuse for not explaining anything. Legal issues, not at liberty to discuss, trying to salvage the blu ray release... And in a few months, this will be only one more thing that just didn't happen for some reason.

Maybe. Maybe it's what's really going on. We have no way of knowing for sure what's going on behind the scenes. Maybe Rock Fuel can offer some insight on the situation.

If this is again something that is out of control for GNR/TB/Axl, then maybe Axl should just drop the name and go solo or something, because GNR seems truly cursed. Apparently Rockfuel can't or won't offer some insight. They were reading this thread while NGOG asked them for some explanation, but they posted nothing.

  3. Can we agree that if it were Slash, Duff, Bucket, Robin...or anyone that is no longer in the fold, Axl or TB should have no problem telling us that?

Well, of course they SHOULD have no problem doing that. However, to accomplish that they would have to lift their heads to stop pompously filating themselves. I'm not sure that, say, Fernando could qualify.

Said this on HTGH, but I can see very clearly why there could be a problem doing that:

If there is still an opportunity to resolve the disagreement on licensing and get the DVD/Blu-ray release out, what benefit would there be to going public about any disagreements/issues?

Agreements should have been made long time ago about this.

I'm not disputing that at all. But, whatever happened, or didn't happen as it should have, in the past is in the past. Whatever the situation is now is where things are now. If there is an opportunity to move forward and salvage the Blu-ray release, I personally don't see any benefit in terms of reaching that resolution to publicly airing the issues at play here.

  4. McCoy perhaps the problem is the conscious attempt or conscious seeking for a relationship? I mean, these things kinda unfold and develop by themselves, if you are attempting to manipulate them or mould them right from the get-go like that you're bringing a lot of baggage and expectation to this shit.

Or, to put it another way, whats the difference between going out on a date when your end goal is a shag and going out on a date where your end goal is a relationship? It seems kinda odd that you can get em in the sack but you can't get em into a relationship with you. Maybe you need to do what you do on the occasions when you get a shag out of em and then keep doing that, keep getting a shag on the regular and in doing that kind allow a bond to develop, some form of confidence and personal intimacy, i mean it's as good a start as anything right? Rather than going out on umpteen dates and wanting to 'get to know them' and ending up putting them off. Perhaps the take the reluctance to do em as a sign of dis-interest. Or the assertion that 'i wanna get to know you first' as a sign of perhaps not being that intensely into them.

Thinking about it that really says something, so you can get em to fuck you but you can't get em to engage in some kinda long term on-going relationship with you. So what happens to the ones you shagged casually, on what basis was it casual sex, by virtue of your wanting it to be or by virtue of their not calling you again or something?

He said it was in relationships: 'It's been when I've been in relationships. Not just picking up a random girl where it was understood that it was only for casual sex.'

  5. It's no good. You're basically saying, "Hey, let's talk about people who are more interesting than me!"

I think it's okay if he doesn't go on and on about it, or if it doesn't come across as bragging. After all it's his work, it's only natural to talk about what you do for a living.

It doesn't matter what you talk about, talk about something you care about or are interested in, see what you have in common.

  6. People on Reddit are speculating that the stolen passports could've been used for human trafficking as opposed to terrorism - apparently that's been an issue on flights before. Not sure what I believe, just pointing that argument out.

I was thinking something along those lines as well. Stolen passports could be used for a myriad of reasons other than terrorism.

Apparently one of the stolen passports was used by a 19 year old Iranian who wanted to obtain political asylum in Germany. He had no ties with terrorist organizations.

  7. I challenge someone to come up with a really good reason why we do it???

    electricity savings?

That was the main purpose for it in harder times (ie, WWII) but most people are oblivious to that and probably waste all the savings by leaving lights and appliances on throughout the year anyway. Not to mention the use of air conditioners that never existed at the time that daylight saving was invented. Now it's just custom and honestly, I don't know anyone who dislikes it.

1 week of unsettled sleep can hardly be justified as a reason for dispensing with something that has been a part of life for decades, actually almost a century. :o

So you don't see a point in doing it anymore, but because it is a custom, we should keep on doing it ? Don't follow your logic.

  8. The false passports point towards terrorism, but it's strange that no organization has taken responsibility yet. It's also strange that they haven't found a wreckage or debris yet.

A Vietnamese plane saw debris, but as it is nighttime now, they can't confirm if it is from the Boeing. Yes, you'd think that if it was a terrorist attack, the terrorists would have claimed responsibility by now.

  9. Wow, quite a discussion. I really have to reread it this week, so I can join in the discussion... But I suggest, as we're talking about being cultured and educated, maybe we can discuss Ulysses next ? Is that intelligent/cultured/educated enough for all of you ? Because I've still only managed to read part of it and I could sure use some pointers there ;)

EDIT:Adriftatsea: Sorry, don't know anything about the suicide.
