Wtf.... What happen during Estranged? Not time to go through all pages.....

    Technical difficulties, it seems.

  2. Don't shoot the messenger, I am merely quoting Bryson here. But the Yanks are not boozy like us. Prohibition and everything. It actually historically goes back to the puritan settlers. The very first Americans were reverently, anti-alcohol. I have often thought that the east coast is boozier than the west. New York looks like it might have a few drinking dens. But still, they do not have that boozy culture like Britain has.

I think no other country has a boozy culture like Britain

  3. I've never seen the Chin Flick in Belgium.

My brother in law is Bolivian, and he always does the Thumbs Up in every picture, I don't think he always means 'up yours'.

As a child, my mom told me not to do the Thumb in the Fist. Never understood why though :shrugs:

Also, DieselDaisy, I thought the V sign as pictured above was rude, while the victory sign was done with your handpalm outwards.

I saw Kompany almost got a suspension for a hand gesture recently. It was something like the Okay-sign, but we also use it as a sign for zero, nothing. I didn't understand why that might be considered rude, until now

  4. When I rediscovered GNR, I stumbled across a few forums. Started checking them out and this seemed the most normal and fun one :) It's a place to keep up with the news and to read other people's opinions on and discuss my favorite band, since I don't know any GNR fans irl. Anything Goes is also interesting, lots of different opinions from all around the world. It's nice to see how people in other parts of the world view certain things: from chocolate bars and coffee to the Ukraine situation or the financial crisis.

  5. Oh My God and Silkworms aren't on his Soundcloud page anymore.

What's interesting is how long it took to take down his first account.

For those that don't know, it had the three minute video chunk with all the 2013 leaks in it, as well as Going Down in full. Also had clips of OMG and Silkworms taken from that three minute chunk. The account also had DJ Ashba's version of Better in full as well as the acoustic version.

I've been going back to Mr. Street of Dreams for what seems like a month or longer now, and those videos had been uploaded a little before I started going to the account. I swear I was just there yesterday and now that account is gone!

Mr. Street of Dreams 2, and Mr. Street of Dreams 3 are still active; they have many of the leaks from Chinese Democracy on them as well as instrumentals.

the lil silkworms clip sounded cool when i heard it!

anyone know were the rumor that there was a Going Down with Axl on lead came from?

I believe Beta said that to Manets ?

  6. Walking is un-American. If someone is walking in America, he is probably a commie.

When I was over in PA back in 2000 one of the women I worked with was telling me how she used to walk around her neighbourhood and people would keep stopping to offer her a ride. When she said she was just out for a walk they looked at her as though she'd just escaped from the loony-bin.

That is exactly what happened to Bryson. You should really read Bryson's Notes From A Big Country which is a series of things he wrote for British readers, while living in America.

Bryson is great. I'm planning to read a few of his books (again) when I'm on holiday. He makes me laugh out loud, which doesn't happen very often when I'm reading a book. :)

Oh, and on topic: I can't get through the day without coffee. If I don't drink at least a few cups a day, I get a terrible headache, always drink it black. I've always been prone to addiction. Nothing serious, luckily, but I only started drinking coffee after I'd given up on cigarettes. Coffee is my cigarette now.

  7. The merch looks awful to me too. (The third one with the picture of the tour poster is the best of the three.) Maybe I'm just getting too old for this, but for me, the merch doesn't suit GNR and the songs either. Or is the left one supposed to be Axl's skull, with the green eyes and orange hair ?

  8. Well, he said in an interview back in the day that he doesn't like touring, that he wants to create music. But then he said in another interview he was looking forward to getting on the road. :shrugs:

He was probably lying at both interviews.

So in the first he was lying about wanting to create music and in the second about wanting to get on the road ? Makes sense.

  9. Request for "The circle of life" (Elton John / Lion King)

Time to inflate some lions !

The same zoo that had to let die the little giraffe (Marius) now has to let die a complete lion family

    http://www.rtlnieuws.nl/nieuws/opmerkelijk/dierentuin-denemarken-maakt-vier-leeuwen-af

Two old parent lions (14 and 16 years) and 2 very young ones (10 months) will go to the other side soon.

I wonder if Axl will pick up on that...

  10. As they often say, the memory cheats.

Axl took the stage back in the day with a scowl on his face. Examples :

Noblesville, 5.28.91 - Tells the fans that growing up around there was like being in Auchwitz. (super appropriate analogy there)

New York, 6.17.91 - "Sorry for the delay. If anyone has a problem with it, tell them to write to Geffen Rcords and tell them to get out of my ass."

Phoenix, 1.31.92 - "Maybe I was just too bummed out to get my ass out here any quicker."

Chicago, 4.9.92 - A legit 5 minute rant after the first two songs, after ordering his bandmates off the stage. (that's not a buzzkill or anything)

Indianapolis, 7.22.92 - "Like my shirt? Good. Know who put him away? Indi-fuckin-ana, that's who. Bunch of backwards ass motherfuckers trying to get themselves a name." (this was his greeting of his 'hometown crowd')

New Mexico, 8.25.92 - "How many people are here from Las Cruces? Not many. Well, how many people would admit to being from Las Cruces?" (this is his greeting after making them wait 2 hours)

This was not a happy camper.

I just knew that someone would come up with examples

  11. I was a huge fan of the old band, but I like CD as well and would love to give the 'new' band a chance. I wish they'd play more of the newer/new songs. I know there are some fans/cupcakes around that will never be satisfied (unless there is a reunion), or get their satisfaction from watching this so-called trainwreck, but a lot of the posters here would like nothing more than see Axl/GNR succeed. Sadly, I think Axl is giving the haters much more fuel than the people that (try to) remain positive.

I mean, people on here are flying out to see GNR live, so I wouldn't tell them to just bugger off because they don't like what they see.
