You're making me blush, Len An ex of mine was crazy about Yellowman, Eek-a-Mouse and Michigan &Smiley (even named his sheep after them), so I spent many an afternoon listening to Sensemilla and the rest. For a while I thought about having his 'I'm getting married in the morning' on my wedding, but ended up not doing it. Haven't listened to his music for years though, but thanks to you guys, I have now rediscovered him

It's the best ISE in a long time because he has spark and is in the moment having fun with his long time friend who years ago immortalised the song with him. The quality of his voice is secondary to those things and it shows, I honestly think we only focus on his vocals so much usually because his enthusiasm often lacks.
I totally agree. Back in the day his voice wasn't always there either, but his enthusiasm and fire more than made up for that. That's the main thing that bothers me, when he has no fire at all in his performance. I think I read in this thread that he coughed during Patience, like he used to do a lot back in the day. Funny he should pick this show to do that, for the first time after all these years. (As far as I'm aware.)
Just watch this video of Patience:
Is Ashba really walking the stage making the crowd cheer him while Fortus and Bumblefoot are playing?
Yeah, he is. Guess he really is a massive cock.
EDIT: I have now seen the clip and think Patience is great again. I like the cough, because it's like an inside joke with Duff. And he even stayed on stage the whole time.

Thank you for clearing that up. I noticed the Zungguzungguzungguzeng reference to Yellowman a while back, but didn't understand why Yellowman. Now I see Wharever happened to Yellowman ? Is he still around ?

It's nineties week on my favorite radiostation, so this one:

I agree about the reunion part, Val22. I think too much time has passed and a reunion could never meet people's expectations, imo. I must admit that the (temporary) return of Duff excites me more than I would have thought though.
But about the new music, that's crazy. I agree that a lot of people didn't like CD, but to say no one likes what he releases, that's exaggerating and only focusing on negatives. A lot of people liked CD, and even people who didn't, might like to hear new music from Axl, as they're curious as to what else he still has up his sleeve.

Did they attempt OMG?Soundcheck sounded huge. They did Shackler's like 3 times in a row.
Not that I heard. So Fine, Raw Power and Bumble sang a bit of TIL (he should take over for Axl, he sounded great).
Have fun, Amir, and congrats on your birthday!

Yeah, noticed it too. McCoy is too nice.

It wasn't like we sat there crying, but it was sad anyhow I'm just emotional like that, I guess.

I was in the youth club when I heard. We listened to Nirvana all night and mourned.

I don't want this to happen, but I wish Axl would just retire and then no one would be able to bitch and moan about no new music and how you all want the Axl of 30 years ago.
Not going to happen. I honestly don't care either way if Axl ever puts out new music. I think the time for that is over. It's been too long and most critics and fans didn't like CD, so what makes you think you would like any more new music.
I think Axl is fed up and sick and tired of hearing and asking about a reunion and new music. I really do hope Axl retires soon. He needs to get out from under everyone that constantly criticize him for even shit he can't control.
Huh? Strange logic. Most critics and fans didn't like CD = no more music ? If every musician reacted that way, very little music would see the light of day, I'm afraid. Stop focusing on the people who complain. Come on, people all over the world are getting albums out, most with less success than Axl. I hope Axl doesn't retire any time soon and I would LOVE to hear new music from him, because chances are I'll love it, like I love all his previous albums.
-
My husband would let me. He knows Axl's my idol and trusts me. I would let him go backstage with his idol too. Now I come to think of it, it's a redhead too: Tori Amos

Nice pic of Axl, too bad Beta seems always to be with him.

No one specifically, I think. In the years I didn't follow GNR, I didn't really follow any band like I do GNR. I just listen to all kinds of music and see some concerts, but wouldn't go on a fan forum, for instance.

RIP Kurt. I was devastated when I heard about it. I had tickets to a Nirvana gig later that month

Did the radio go on strike while they were expecting Duff ? Do I have that right ? Seems a bit unrespectful, no ?
All radios went on strike, cos someone hit some radio journalist. It's an Union thing.
Ok, they said that they are waiting for him.
While we wait, here's some Duff on the latest S.Bach single:
Edit: Duff's Tweeter:
"Mine Espanol es muey crapito."
Thank you, Russell, also for keeping us up to date

wasn't duffs wife just THE BODY?something like that………...
If you're referring to what I think you are: The Body is model Elle MacPherson. She was briefly linked to Axl in the beginning of the nineties.

When Axl introduces Duff, he says their regular bass player is doing a REUNION show with the Replacements. Don't tell me a reunion isn't on his mind
