  1. On March 28, while appearing with his bandmates at 120 Tavern & Music Hall in Marietta, Georgia, FASTER PUSSYCAT bassist Danny Nordahl collapsed face first into the drum riser prior to the group's performance of its hit song "Bathroom Wall". He was carried off stage and his position was filled by bassist Andy Nader of the opening act RED LIGHT SAINTS.

FASTER PUSSYCAT vocalist Taime Downe appeared to be unfazed by the incident, telling the audience with a laugh, "Fucking rock 'n' roll! Classic! Somebody better have fucking got that on video, 'cause I want it. Every morning he will wake up to it... just on a repeat loop." (From Blabbermouth)

  2. Well ! I can bring you exactly what happened yesterday in Porto Alegre show: it was massive, intense. I'm a big fan since 1989. This is my third GN'R show: 1992(or 93) in São Paulo (in the rain, they cut the show - only 1h30, the sound was just good, but it was killer after all), in 2010 here in Porto Alegre and the yesterday one. I can tell you. The band is much tighter than in 2010 and in RIR 2011, and Axl was amazing. I can tell you: we can't judge this band by youtube videos. They put out a real rock show, like no other nowadays. I don't want to argue. I know a lot of you have been frustrated because of the lack of knew songs, the lack of Slash, blah, blah. But I can tell you: I couldn't miss Slash. And a big fan of him (I am a guitarist myself) . The 3 "new" guys steals the show (DJ Ashba technically is less than Slash, but plays with the heart also, Richard is a mix of high level technique with a blues- very similar with Slash, but cleaner and more technical, and Bumble is the best). They played all the hits and Chinese, Shaklers, This I Love, Better, Catcher of the Chinese Democracy album, plus I Used to Love Her ( a surprise to everybody) and Nice Boys. The voice was aggressive, it could even hurt the ears in the acutes notes. In the end, people was very happy and satisfied.

Great, rhb, glad you enjoyed it. The only clip I've seen so far, CD and WTTJ sounded great, as far as I could tell. Looking forward to other clips now as well, after seeing your comments :)

  3. Sooooo....I'm considering asking out one of my closer female friends. This could go great or be an absolute disaster.

I've been told that is a bad idea... But I figured: Hey, we're friends, so at least we know what we have in common and we are great friends! So I went and did it anyway... Been married for almost seven years now :)

    Let me guess - you're a woman?

    How did you guess ?

  4. Netcat, what's with Darth Vader running for president ?

Ukrainian Central Election Commission refused to register Darth Vader as a presidential candidate

    fucking fascist pigs

Oh no, they know he would've won. How cool would that be, president Darth Vader... Who the hell are you going to vote for now ? :(

  5. If Axl really wants to bury the old band and distance himself from reunion/press demands, then having Duff on board is not the right way...

i'm starting to think axl doesn't give a crap about reunion talk either. he seems to be sedated.

Honestly, I don't even see Axl anymore. I mean, the other guys, they've aged and all, but you look at them and the way they talk and the way they move, and it's still them. It kinda hit me yesterday when someone posted an old pic of Duff and Axl together. In my mind - and it's not even a conscious thing, it's just what I automatically think - Axl now and Axl from classic Guns are two completely different people.

I kinda feel the same about Axl. It's like it's two different people. Sometimes, when he is on stage, you can see something of the old (young) Axl creeping in, I think, sometimes it's only a small gesture, but then I think, yes, it is Axl. But somehow in my mind, I see them as two different people as well. I particularly had it when I saw him on Kimmel. I almost didn't recognize him, I know the old interviews so well, and the difference is like day and night to me.

  6. For those who are visiting Rome: awesome! I've only been there once and my boyfriend at the time wasn't really into culture and history, plus the weather was great, so we spent a lot of time just strolling through Rome. I did manage to drag him into the Colosseum and the Sistine Chapel, as I am a huge admirer of Michelangelo and I used to have a poster of the ceiling in my room (next to all my Axl Rose and GNR posters :P ). I was absolutely blown away. I'm sure there's a zillion other places to visit, but I enjoyed those two.

  7. Definitely jealous of the North America trip and your travel plans, Powerage!

For me this year planned so far: a week in Turkey and a city trip to London.

Where in Turkey? Only been to Istanbul but it's one of the most amazing places I've been. Would love to go see more of Turkey someday!

Istanbul is great, loved it! I've been there a long time ago. This time it's not for culture though, we're going to the Riviera, a week of sun, sea, food and drinks

Love Italy and France too... Will you be able to do some sightseeing or are you just there for the gigs ?

  8. I like it, but to be fair, I like almost all Axl's styles, from biker shorts to leather jackets and hats  Can't help myself. The only style I didn't like at all was the jerseys, awful. I think he should take the jacket off sometimes though, it's silly to keep it on all night. Reminds me of when I saw Peter Gabriel last year. It looked like he had a black raincoat on the whole night.

  9. No, it's not. I read it in the paper yesterday. I'll try to dig up an English version... Here it is:

Kiev (AFP) - As Ukraine battles to stave off dark forces of its own, iconic movie villain Darth Vader announced he was running for president in a bid to restore all glory to the downtrodden nation.

The Sith Lord, or at least an unnamed protester dressed up as him who has often been seen on Kiev's Independence Square during the winter protests flanked by his loyal Stormtroopers, has been chosen as the official candidate of the Ukrainian Internet Party (UIP) which has become known for its theatrical public stunts.

"After winning intra-party primaries by a landslide, comrade Vader will be our party's candidate," said UIP leader Dmitry Golubov, who spent time in prison after being convicted of using the internet to run a credit card fraud scheme.

Encased in black armour, with a black mask and cape, the party's "Darth Vader" has been involved in several political actions in the country.

In November 2013 he was carried by his Stormtroopers -- the elite soldiers of the fictional galactic empire -- to Odessa city hall where he declared himself mayor.

According to local media reports he has also reportedly demanded a plot of land in the southwestern city to park his space ship.

Activist of the Ukrainian Internet Party wears a Stormtrooper outfit from the Star Wars saga and dis …

"I alone can make an empire out of a republic, to restore former glory, to return lost territories and pride for this country," Vader said in a party statement.

The party said it had paid the required 2.5 million hryvnia ($225,000 / 165,000 euro) registration fee for their unusual candidate.

Ukraine is holding a snap presidential election on May 25 after parliament ousted pro-Moscow leader Viktor Yanukovych as a result of bloody street protests against his government.

The move prompted the Kremlin to back a referendum in the majority Russian-speaking Black Sea peninsula of Crimea which voted to split from Ukraine.

The UIP was registered in 2010 and aims to create an electronic government in Ukraine, transition to digital media and offer free computer courses to all citizens, amongst other things.

According to the party, Darth Vader scored three percent of the votes in 2012 parliamentary elections, which did not count because Ukrainian law does not recognise write-in candidates.
